What is the post number where the trial discussion begins? Thanks.
In this thread, posts about the trial begin around P. 35.

Here's a great summary from today's proceedings, with a bit of history as well.

Libby wasn't at the bridge when she called him to ask if he could pick her and Abby up. She was at home arranging a ride home because they couldn't go if they didn't have a ride home. DP didn't get to the bridge until 3:00-3:30ish. JMO
It’s a little confusing but I’m certain Libby’s call to her dad was to make arrangements for him to pick them up on his way back to Delphi. In earlier interviews BP said she allowed the girls to go only if they had a ride there and back. KG could only give them a ride there because she had to go to work later therefore Libby’s call to her dad was to arrange for a ride home. IIRC KG said they had already left or were parked at the trails when that call was made. JMO

Some things that stuck out to me from today's testimony.

BP testified LG was wearing gray sweatpants. (her jeans are still a mystery to me)

Kelsi and BP stated their DNA was taken by LE in the last couple of days so that must be where BM got it is now being tested for hair ID.

The defense asked Derrick what the last digit of his phone number was.

The defense asked Kelsi if she had worn the sweatshirt worn by Abby, Kelsi said they washed it but she had not worn it.

Baldwin tells the jury the bullet was found in the ground, that no photos of it were taken from different angles. He says the bullet was ejected through a gun but not fired, so they tested it out on a new bullet and the markings were not the same. He tells the jury it is like ‘apples and oranges’.

Baldwin says Libby’s phone was connected to a cell tower until 5:44 p.m., that it stopped connecting then reconnected the tower at 3:45 p.m. (I'm confused, is that supposed to be 3:45 am?)

According to her grandma, Libby was scared of the dark. There's no end to the sadness in this case, and that just hit me hard. It's easy to think of her bravery but it's just so true how little, how young, how vulnerable they were.

If RA is guilty of what he's accused of, as he sits there without visible shackles and his smart glasses, he did this. He forced them down the hill, forced them into undress, slaughtered them without mercy and left them there, for the cold, dark night to settle upon them. Heartless.

I was wondering the same thing.

Why in the world would the investigation not test the hair in 5 years?

I understand there’s a high probability it is transfer from Kelsi’s sweatshirt she gave to the girls but in the off chance that say for example it belongs to Kathy Allen and would of tied Richard Allen to the crime scene in 2017 similar to how the LISK killers wife’s hair was found on the victims.

This makes 0 sense to me.

The defense is really harping on this DNA…..

The defense asked Patty “Did you provide your DNA to police two days ago?” Patty responded “yes, one of the times.”

Kelsi told the jury she gave DNA to police a few days ago and it was not the first time she been asked that.

According to the defense, who brought this up, it was possibly a match to a female relative of Libby’s.

So it clearly was tested, but they didn’t bother to go further than connecting it to the family.

That’s of course assuming what this defense attorney says is true, and they did not go further than merely ruling it out as belonging to a killer.

Pointing out how incompetent LE is. After the David Camm fiasco (who was once one of them) I don't trust them like I used to. JMO

Never fails to strike me how eerie the setting was.

jmo
I think it's inherently an atmospheric setting, and structures that are decomposing are deeply linked in our minds with the sinister and the horror genre.

I don't find it eerie in and of itself outside of the crime in question, but I spent my childhood holidaying in an old gold mining ghost town from the late 19th century. My perspective may be different from others.

Mmmm.....maybe I'm missing something here here, but, defense said the prosecution's timeline puts Allen in a parking lot near the trail at 1:30 p.m. but his cellphone data shows he was gone by 2:15 p.m.
Ok......

Derrick, Libby's Dad told the jury he left the home at 1:20 p.m. to take photos for appraisal properties in Frankfort owned by the Pattys. Half-way there (1:45pm or 1:50pm?) Libby called him to pick them up from the bridge. Derrick told Libby he had photos to take and he finished the work and went to pick up the girls.

Let's say for argument sake, RA did leave by 2:15. It doesn't matter, their time in the area overlapped.
He still could have done it.

What?! Like What?!?

Doesn't the State put the times of deaths somewhere, more or less, between 2:38 pm to just before 4 pm.

Does anyone have those times offhand?

Is there a source available for what the Defense said about the Prosecution's timeline.

This trial needs to be livestreamed.

I don't find it eerie either. It is a beautiful place, especially this time of year (my favorite). May take a bike ride there Sunday, high of 74 degrees and sun all day.

Yes, it is eerie..
For me tho, the deaths are connected to it, so it will always be eerie.

Wow wow wow!!!!

There were 2 different knives!!!!

This is 100X the bombshell that people were making the hair out to be.

Jmo
No biggie,
IIRC, we heard before of 2 knives involved JMO

RA=BG had a gun and knives on him. One being a boxcutter.

LE search warrant shows MULTIPLE knives confiscated from his home.

  • 7 various sheathed knives
  • 8 various folding knives
  • 4 various multi-tools

Libby’s recording of the kidnap wasn’t until 2:47 so it would not overlap

Boy, Allen sure does love knives.
