Do you know what lawsuit are they discussing?
The new stuff Lawyer Lee talked about? No I don't know exactly what is was all about, just what she said, falsifying an affidavit.

Wow! Amongst all of the judge's rules for jurors it is even down to what type of movies the jurors will be allowed to watch!?!?

  • #664
Are they jumping right into opening statements at 9AM or are there motions first? How about a jury charge? Just wondering how much we'll be hearing at the first break.
JG has to rule on the sketches and prison/jail personnel testifying, right?

BBM

I didn’t forget. I just don’t see it as relevant.

I find it offensive that the community is being insulted for their innocence and naivety when it comes to blaming their fellow residents.

Richard Allen was an invisible little nobody. No reports of his being a community leader, neighborhood watch, municipality community committee member, no clubs, just some pool playing at the pub.

RA didn’t have any visibility in the community to come to anyone attention, imo.

I wouldn’t recognize or even contemplate my pharmacy workers as I would be thinking I was looking for a monster; someone I could identify as such at a glance. Not the invisible enemy lurking at my store.

And no one apparently has recognized BG as anyone else most notably also not the men whose names were drug through the mud buy the wrongly accusing sm consumers.

All imo
I think it's easy to wonder how did nobody recognize him because he was right there, but look how many different ways he has looked just since his arrest. He's had hair, no hair, facial hair, no facial hair, he's lost and gained weight and I feel like in every photo I've seen he looks different. Then we have a man on the bridge looking down and with something covering his head.

I think of Dennis Radar (BTK serial killer in Wichita, KS) he was a church deacon, he lived in the town for 20 something years, raised a family there.. blended in. I think it's truly most disturbing when the monsters living among us don't look like monsters. It's really unsettling that someone is capable of a crime like this and then going back to life like nothing happened.

Posted an hour ago

@NewsyBarbara

Opening Statements begin in about an hour in the Delphi Murders trial. 8 women and 4 men will hear the evidence against Richard Allen. The state says a bullet ties Allen to the scene, and that he admitted he did it, how he did it, and why he did it....(more)

The defense says Allen's treatment behind bars was a recipe for false confessions, and that he confessed to crimes he did not commit - such as killing his own family. They say they will be going after the investigation hard.

Getting close to go-time.
I've been up since 2:30 am drank a pot of hot coffee and now am on to my iced chai latte. I might not even be able to type with my hands shaking so bad LOL.

Today really is the day and I hope this trial is conducted fairly, judiciously, reverently and as respectfully as possible. It's been a long time coming and whether you are Pro D or Pro P, this case is ultimately about Justice for Abby and Libby. Their families have endured incomprehensible suffering for over 7 years. They deserve answers, and I hope they get what they need to begin to move forward.

I feel like Abby and Libby are looking down from above smiling seeing the outpouring of love from so many people, complete strangers who, like me, were deeply touched by their murders and a need to see their killer held accountable. It is go time girls. :)

The prisoner companions and guards are allowed to testify as to what they saw or heard by RA, they cannot give medical opinions.

No word on the sketches that I've seen.

IMO 75% Guilty and 20% hung jury% and 5% non guilty. I think and hope he will found guilty but I think there is also a small possibility of a hung jury because could be 1 or 2 jurors who want DNA or more than circunstancial evidence..

I'm more like 90%, 8%, 2% mainly due to the confessions.

@KaitlynReports

Let’s not forget why we are all here. It’s these beautiful young girls whose lives were taken far too soon. They have somehow through such tragedy brought this community closer.

I don't follow LL so I'm up on what she talks about. If she's an approved source, do you have the link?

I think he's guilty. I'm hoping for conviction. I wouldn't say I'm banking on it, but I'd be very surprised at this point to see an acquittal. Obviously anything's still possible.

Understood! And I believe his guilt is the truth.

The trial's underway so we'll all know the truth soon to the extent possible.

Before the thread starts moving at exponential speed as information comes to light later today, I wanted to leave a thank you to those who have contributed to keeping all of these threads going throughout the years. It’s been such a valuable resource to drop in and catch up on the news on the case as time has gone on. Thank you!

This is a serious trial where the jurors will be expected to pay close attention. I don't think anybody is worrying about uncomfortable seats. If they had 'super comfy seats' some would probably be falling asleep during the course of a month long trial.

MOO
It could be hard to pay close attention if their sciatica flares up, or if they can’t sleep well at night from back pain. I bet Judge Gull isn't sitting in an uncomfortable seat!

I want to hear RA speak his truth...but I think we'll only get to read it? If his audio/video and letters get admitted to evidence does the media get a copy?
