That’s AI though, which is completely different than the processes that have been used for decades.

It’s a brand new technology.
It's more in-depth than that. Changes in judicial viewpoints has recently even lead to changes in our Model Rules of Civil Procedure. Courts do feel audio analysis is more reliable than video at present.

Luminol can detect blood UP TO 8 years in ideal circumstances.

But this being surface smear blood if that was transferred somewhere in the car seat or seatbelt, I would think that would last much less. The heat an sun in a car would surely degrade it, especially if he tried to clean it way back then.
The search warrants continued the following day on Oct. 14, 2022, when ISP troopers searched a Ford Focus at ISP District 14’s post in West Lafayette. The search, which docs show occurred around 2 p.m., yielded three items:

• A cutting of carpeted area under a spare tire in the Ford Focus

• Swabbing from the driver’s lap belt and the driver’s shoulder belt in the Ford Focus

• Swabbing from the passenger side carpeted floorboards

I am wondering have they gone over how they didn't find anything on the carpet from the trunk or swabs from his car?

Or have we not heard about that yet? Seems odd we haven't heard whether or not they found anything if this hasn't been covered or not. I just might not be finding it going through the daily recaps though.

I don’t know what the state has said in regards to this being planned or not.

You don’t bring a box cutter, gun, and not have your phone turned on if you’re not planning on committing a crime though.

He took precautions, and was prepared. I don’t think the girls were the plan, until he saw them. That would just be too perfect based on what we know and how he approached them.

He got lucky.

Cleaning up post offense doesn’t tell us if this crime was planned or not. He’d do that regardless.
Wow. So you imagine this was all planned, but not necessarily targeting the girls in advance and that they were opportunistic?

And that's based upon the fact that no DNA was found, so he must have planned in advance?

If he was covered in blood like he “slaughtered a pig” there surely would have been DNA in his car.
If he had his own uv light, he could keep using it until no blood could be detected. I use mine when I'm cleaning blood or cat urine out of a carpet. I have a special peroxide mixture I use. I just keep using it until my uv light doest locate it anymore.

Reasonable doubt for me. BG isn’t moving his mouth in the video. We don’t see him tell the kids anything. We hear the words. Could be anyone who spoke them. Moo based on testimony last week.
What was said last week that puts anyone but Abby, Libby and BG on the bridge at the time the video was taken? I don't recall any testimony to the effect. Who was testifying where that was addressed?

Wonder if they had collected the key fob for testing.
Evidence ( like germs) can lurk in the most overlooked places.
Jmo
Germs from whom from 2017 to 2022? Are you suggesting the kids may have sneezed or something on his fob? Pls clarify if you can as to how the keyfob germs would be helpful? But since you mentioned it, I wonder if they did check the fob for blood from the kids??? That might have been useful if the killer was bloody from the crimes...mooo

Article is paywalled, but would be interested in what it says about audio analysis. We’ve read that the DTH clip is likely too short for analysis.

If this was all planned then his getaway plan was rubbish! He parked too far away…..and in sight of too many people

Surely if planned he would have parked better?
It jibes with the crime as a whole. He murdered two girls in broad daylight in an area that was relatively popular with others. It was incredibly high risk, despite his efforts to mitigate that by isolating them.

Planned doesn’t mean well planned, and certainly doesn’t mean he had particular victims in mind.

But with a box cutter and a gun, he wasn’t just planning on partaking in the increasingly popular hobby of “fish watching.”

Maybe he had done this many times, but that day was different…

Snipped:

"Bozinovski also testified she did not find evidence that the teens were sexually assaulted. She said she tested samples taken from the girls, including vaginal swabs and fingernail scrapings, and did not find semen or other types of male DNA.

There was some male DNA from the samples taken from the girls, but she said the amount she detected was not unusual and could have been passed on from normal, day-to-day contact."

part bolded by me.

if I may ask (and I am still trying to catch up through a variety of sources reporting on this trial due to the no media rules…) but what testimony indicated that Abby “bolt(ed)”? Did only she try to run? If so, is their testimony explaining their theory on how one of the girls was running away and perpetrator gained control of them both?

I’m just trying to understand where I can find what you said in the testimony, so please don’t think it’s me being argumentative. If this is explained by a certain witness I’d like to go and try to focus in on that part(s). Thank you in advance and always JMOO
When the video was played (Friday I think?), first the original version, then the enhanced. That ISP tech, IIRC, mentioned Abby running to Libby by the end of the bridge and saying, (paraphrasing) Don't leave me up here. There was more said but I cannot recall it all. It's very hard not being able to watch the trial. I also believe there was another witness who was describing the video also, that day. That's what I'm recalling.

Yes. The girls were almost certainly targets of opportunity in my mind.

No DNA being found has little to nothing to do with that. His phone not coming up in the geofence when it should have tells me that his intent was nefarious. He claimed to be watching a stock ticker after all.

Logically, if he knew about the danger of carrying a cell phone, he would have been wearing gloves as well. He didn’t have to be wearing gloves to leave no DNA though.

That's a lot to take in.

I have no idea where to start in terms of proving it in a court of law.

No DNA on the green scarf. It seems some items were intentionally thrown in the creek to remove DNA. MOO

“Bozinovski tells the jury the items from the creek impacted her analysis because the samples had degraded and DNA was partially removed.
<>
She told the jury that the green scarf from the creek “may not have been related to the timing of the crime.” She says there is no DNA on it.”

A moment in the Delphi murders trial of Richard Allen, per media pool report:Judge Gull takes exception to seeing several people sacking out in the gallery during today's testimony."I don't conduct court in your bedroom. I would appreciate you not sleeping in my courtroom.”

I was in line waiting this morning. That's the peril of camping out to get in. With 24 public seats, I knew I was on the cusp at No. 29 in line.
