Thank you so much for the local insight! And welcome to Websleuths :)

Do. you have any instinctual ideas about where Darius would have ventured to in that area? I got fixated on those bluffs/quarry or "climbing" up somewhere but maybe too far away from campground. Hard to tell distance on maps.
I honestly think he's in the woods somewhere. If you wander off the trails anywhere in the area the undergrowth is deceivingly thick and it's very easy to become turned around. Even in September when the leaves and shrubs start to die off it creates a lot of ground cover. Especially at his height, it'd be hard to see over any of it. And it'd be hard for SAR too.

I don't think the limestone area is too far! But it is quite tall from what I remember and I don't think it'd be easy for me to scale, let alone a kid. Unless he found the road(/path) that goes up half of it, but I'd hope they'd have used the drones to search it.

Yes. People, if you go hiking with your kids, dress them in the most eyeball tormenting color you can find, loud, bright and unnatural, so they can be visible from a distance. Dressing them in dull colors, brown, black, beige, grey, dull green, makes them practically invisible.
You can also get little reflectors that clip onto zippers, bag handles, etc!

A recent update regarding the all out search happening this weekend. A lost autistic child can greatly impact the nature of the search. So loud sounds (is this referring to searchers calling out his name?) isn’t appropriate? <Thinking of Lilly and Jack, undiagnosed autism could’ve had serious consequences>

Each of those volunteers searchers out there are truly remarkable people!
