I think the police said there was no evidence of abduction.Did I miss where an abduction was ruled out by police?
Personally I think they probably have a good idea of what happened but obviously it's just a matter of proving it.

In my opinion RCMP have downplayed any chance of abduction multiple times and for them(specifically RCMP in Eastern Canada) to do that publicly and risk te backlash if wrong - I put a lot of weight on it. If they have any inkling of an abduction then they must be super confident that its not a situation where the public being on the lookout would help more than harm and for them to think that then it would not be true to say no evidence of abduction - which again I don’t think RCMP is willing to to take the backlash of that. I think they had a good idea pretty quickly about where this is going.Yes MBM wanted an Amber Alert and the response by police was there was no evidence of an abduction, But as the search of the area didn’t find the children, during the PC police stated the missing person investigation will be looking at “every aspect” of this file.
You did not. It's never stated to be so.Did I miss where it was stated this was a school only backpack?

I don’t disagree with you. I just Goole imaged first day of school getting on the bus incase the schools have migrated away from backpacks since my two went to school, and every single student, regardless of age, is boarding the bus with a very large backpack. Comical to look at the little ones whose backpacks are half the size of the student.Since DM presumes Lily has her backpack with her, and no one has refuted that statement and LE haven't located it (that the public is aware of), my best guess is that while it might also be used the way you describe, she also uses it for her own personal little treasure holder, the way many little girls do.
Good point - he does emphasize the brightness of it, not likely to be used for play often.I don’t disagree with you. From what the stepfather shares, IMO/moo, given the stepfather’s description of its colour before versus after they went missing, the backpack was not something Lilly used while outside and playing, etc. He describes it as white after eight+ months of school. He also knows the kids’ behaviour. If he says he can’t see it (because that’s not what Lilly typically did with it,) I believe him.
“..they took their boots, that’s pink boots for Lilly and blue boots for Jack with dinosaurs on them. Lilly had her backpack with white, it was white with strawberries on it. I imagine if they’re in the woods, that it’d be probably brown. But I don’t see them carrying their backpack. I don’t see him keeping a pull-up on for that long after it got soaked from the very first day…we only found the two boot tracks outside of the house. (Where abouts?) Uh, right beside the house, about 10 feet away from the backyard…."

Did I miss where an abduction was ‘ruled out’ by police?
I think the police said there was no evidence of abduction.

Apologies, I should have said no evidence rather than ruled out.
The fact remains no information has been released by the police regarding an abduction. If they truly thought it was an option surely they would be sending out amber alerts.
I think you make good points regarding the colour of the backpack and the possibility for school use.I don’t disagree with you. In Canada Amber Alerts are only issued if there’s recognizable information about the abductor ie description, vehicle identity.
My point was police have not said anything is ruled out.
My point is if the children have been potentially abducted they could be anywhere by now. Surely their information should be spread far and wide? Regardless of whether an abductor has been identified or not.
I do think we would have seen a different type of search and statement if they suspected abduction. My point is if the children have been potentially abducted they could be anywhere by now. I think there is a reason she was whisked out of there so quickly with any communication with her ex going through RCMP.I do think it's a bit premature to say the mum isn't talking.
Just because she's only done one interview and is not all over SM doesn't mean she isn't talking with the police.
I’m missing your point, Are you saying police should issue an Amber Alert if they haven ruled out an abduction? How would that help? That the children are missing has been reported extensively by the media.
I do think we would have seen a different type of search and statement if they suspected abduction.
Moo
Just because they see no evidence now doesn't mean that aren't also exploring the kidnap theory.Because not everyone follows the news these days or visits WS to follow cases. Surely if the police think abduction is an option then they should be doing all they can to get sitings of the children.
Hence why I believe they are not following the abduction theory, they stated there was no evidence. They are looking into other theories now imo.
