I wondered about this line in the article that you've bolded .

Why would Maleyha think cody took them , maybe it was her first thought idk . But seems a bit strange to think a father who gave up the fight for the children and the courts had awarded full custody to Maleyha.

Unless, even though Maleyha and Cody broke up more than 2 years ago that the finalising of the courts decision to award custody was only recent ?

The grandmother BG who has been very vocal , has she mentioned when full custody was awarded ?
Maybe she was just grasping at straws? Like thinking, wait a second, maybe he’s more interested in them than I realized? Thinking she couldn’t rule it out?

IMHO

It mentions in the article that janies physiology prevented her doing the lie detection test .what does that mean .

Is it heart problem, an over active sweat gland or she wouldnt sit still 🤔 anyone know what it indicates

This is a UK site but presumably it would be the same:

Where is it stated this tip is known or even presumed to be an actual sighting of Lilly and Jack getting picked up in a vehicle?
are you assuming that the tip isn’t known to LE? It seems you’ve misunderstood my comment.

For those of you who think the kids may be hidden away with relatives, do you think it is or isn't with MBM's knowledge? I can't see why she would willingly send away only 2 of her kids, and she must know that as long as they're kept hidden she can't go see them.

Didn't she leave, too, a couple days after they went missing?

Of course the tip is known to LE, they included it in their documentation to support a request for a subpoena. But the RCMP never stated they have good reason to believe the tip was an actual sighting of Lilly and Jack so we can’t presume it was, that was my only point. As far as we know it could’ve indeed been a sighting of a 10 and a 5 year old, entirely different children.

My thoughts on what happened to those wee loves has not changed since May 2nd. I 100% believe both parents. I think after being up and wide awake they got bored stiff and went out to the yard and played on the swings. Maybe they were too loud for step grandma and maybe she yelled at them to be quiet. They possibly were frustrated and for whatever reason decided to have an adventure, walked up to the road and were then stolen.

I think it was just that simple. A crime of opportunity from someone who had been plotting and dreaming of just such an opportunity? Creepy thought.

A link to the entire CBC interview with the step grandma for a refresher.

Me too. I'm thinking accidental/went into the woods or scooped up off that road by someone they recognized in some form (so no fight, no screaming, no reluctance, etc.) or if a woman, she set them at ease enought to lure them. MOO

Definitely into the woods was my first thought. Tons of adventures in there! Maybe they crawled into a crevice towards a cave/mine? or something similar?

Sometime between 8:48 ( when step grandma got a text from her brother asking if she needed a ride to the store, she said no and went to lay down, then heard the kids "shortly after" ) and 10:01 when Mom phoned the police they were gone.

Easy peasy if they were scooped up by someone they knew.

These new articles don’t change my opinion on this case at all. I still believe Mum and Step Dad know exactly what happened to those children and where they are.

It is a VERY short period of time. An hour only likely if JM's timeline is right.

I still go into my "think like a kid" mode too if went into the woods - if I was a kid and was scared and ccold... I'd likely do a makeshift blanket out of branches/leaves or make a "fort" or curl up in a sheltered/covered spot like base of tree/tree hallow. So even with searches, might be hard to spot :(

She reported that DM put a wrench on top of the door (front door) the night before and this is how they knew the kids went out the sliding door, the wrench hadn’t fallen. DM confirmed he did that most nights with the wrench because a bear used to hang around.

:oops::oops: Never heard of a bear before!:oops::oops:

Re the wrench on the door and bear hanging around -

How does a wrench on the door detect a bear?? If it comes to the door and knocks? Shakes the walls? I’d think a bear shaking the walls would alert you and no falling wrench would be needed. I think a bear outside would be better detected by stringing up tin cans, or bells.

This makes me wonder if the wrench on the door isn’t for fear of bears, but rather a fear that someone will come break in to their home. Is there someone they were afraid would come in the night?

As time goes by, and no theory seems to make complete sense, I go back to wondering if they had any enemies who would do this to them. And if so, what is the end game. Give the kids back? Harm them?

IMO

I agree, I can’t imagine how a wrench in a door would deter bears. Just ensuring it was shut, hopefully locked, should do the trick.

As for enemies, I have wondered if the piece of the pink doll blanket and the two missing sweaters were intended to falsely implicate DM in some way. But purely my speculation, sometime longstanding feuds in rural areas can run deep.

According to the article:

"The first round of polygraph tests, which measures fluctuations in a person's nervous system to indicate if they are being truthful when answering a series of questions, took place on May 12, according to new documents obtained by CTV News. The results for both Brooks-Murray and the children's stepfather, Daniel Martell, indicated that the pair had been 'truthful,' the documents stated."
Thank you

This purple bolded is new to me.
Did you have a link for it ?
I'd be interested in reading about that myself.
Thanks in advance.

This says first round

Depends how the reporter interpreted the information but I think it indicates there was more than one round of polygraphs, but not to say DM and MBM were polygraphed again. The 2nd round was for a different group of people, the biodad, grandmother. Just my interpretation…

“RCMP conducted at least four polygraphs during their investigation — the first two were on May 12 with the children’s parents at the detachment at Bible Hill, N.S. Martell’s polygraph “indicated he was truthful,” as did the test for Brooks-Murray that found she was truthful when answering specific questions, although the list of questions is redacted in the document.”

An unidentified investigator’s comment included at the end of a section on the results of both of those polygraphs says, “At this point in the investigation Jack and Lilly’s disappearance is not believed to be criminal in nature.”

ETA Was July 16th the date of the most recent document or did the investigation change direction on that date?
“The redacted records, which were released at the request of CBC News, the Globe and Mail and the Canadian Press, include 12 record-access orders filed by RCMP and reveal that as of July 16 investigators did not believe the case was criminal in nature.“

July 16th was also the date of the RCMP’s last News Release. It doesn’t mention anything about investigating all options.

'Friday, July 18, 2025 Episode Transcript'

''MW: What does Janie say about what happened that day?

KAYLA HOUNSELL: Well, she says that morning, her brother called her at 8:48 local time. She has the timestamp on her phone. She says she spoke with him and then went back to bed. But then she heard her dog barking, and she heard Lilly and Jack. She didn't see them, but says she heard them. And she says it was around 10 minutes after that call with her brother, so around 9 a.m. now, that she heard her son yelling for Lilly and jack. Now, she didn't go outside immediately, but when she did a short time later, she saw Malehya, the children's mother, standing there with the baby, and it was her who told Janie that Lilly and Jack were missing and had been for about 20 minutes. And she says ever since then, baseless stories have been swirling about her family.''
