CANADA Canada - Jack, 4 & Lilly Sullivan, 6, Vulnerable, wandered from home 10am, Gairloch Rd, Landsdowne Station, Pictou County, NS, 2 May 2025 #7

I believe the disappearance is criminal, and sadly, I believe the children are not alive.

My reasons:
I find it hard to believe a child, let alone 2 children, could wander and leave no trace.
According to the alleged timeline, imo, there was not time enough for 2 small kids to get so far away and lost as to not be found considering how quickly the search was started.
Multiple searches yielded nothing.
Scent dogs found nothing.
Cadaver dogs found nothing.
The mother leaving the area within 36 hours of the alleged disappearance makes me wonder if she has a suspicion of their fate and thus knew they would not be found in the woods.

Red flags in the home -
Financial stress.
Admitted drug use that could have exposed the children to dangerous individuals, as drug dealers tend not to be upstanding citizens.
Allegations of DV.
Allegation that one adult was preparing to leave the other.
Black eyes with, in my opinion, dubious explanations, like the alleged toy dumptruck incident, or the alleged face punch of a little girl to a little boy.
Involvement of CPS.

I don’t know the stats, but I suspect it is possible hat a number of those red flags I’ve listed have a statistical correlation to children experiencing harm or death.

Just my opinion.

Edit to fix typo and add imo

and there it is. The good guy stepdad appears to not be a good guy at all if these allegations in the form of formal charges are correct.

Anybody else think these charges are related to acts committed involving MBM? Because I think they might be.

I was wondering specifically if the forcible confinement charge was related to her allegation that he restrained her to stop her from calling her mother

I'm going to guess that the "something" on the blanket wasn't blood.

I implied the same last week. I really want to be wrong.

Are these historical charges that the media or someone has just discovered he had in his past?

Or are they current, brand new charges on him?

And if they're new charges, are they from a recent criminal incident or something from some time before, that has not reached its statute of limitations yet?

100%

I think the charges are related to DV towards MBM .

The charges are recent, he was just arrested on Monday and has a hearing on 2nd March. As for the rest, we don't know yet

This is the first I have seen about any blood/DNA being found on a piece of Lily's blanket.
"During the interview Thursday, M said the blood sample he submitted would be used to test something on a blanket, but he did not provide details."
The way I read it was that they were taking a blood sample from DM only to test his DNA, so that they could see if it matched DNA from the blanket.

I don't know if that makes sense though, because his DNA would be expected on the blanket, since it was part of the household he lived in. Unless maybe they wanted his DNA to test to see if it matched the blanket, in order TO FIND OUT if the blanket was the one from the house or not!

But I don't think they ever said blood was found on the blanket, like you thought. They mentioned blood only because he was to give a blood sample, which I thought was to get his DNA.

But I admit it's unclear, and I could be wrong.

One month ago the head of the Major Crimes Unit of the RCMP said he’s confident the case will be resolved. (Paywalled).https://www.theglobeandmail.com/canada/article-nova-scotia-rcmp-jack-and-lilly-sullivan-case/

January 16, DM denied abuse allegations made by MBM in newly unsealed court documents related to the children’s’ disappearance— N.S. missing kids: Stepfather denies abuse allegations, says he puts ‘full trust’ in RCMP | Globalnews.ca

Ten days later police arrest him with the charges mentioned above. (ETA: Charges reported today.)

There we go.
I'm going to guess charges to do with the kids are getting closer..We can but hope.

I've thought he was full of it from the start.

Under Nova Scotia's Limitations of Actions Act, the provincial government has removed all statutes of limitations on sexual assault claims, even for claims that may have accrued before the effective date of the present version of the Act.

There is no statute of limitations for indictable offences. Police and Crown prosecutors can lay an indictable charge years after the incident if evidence supports it.

(results of my google search about statutes of limitations)

New charges, but we don’t know when the alleged crimes happened.

I've tried hard from the beginning of this case to give both parents the benefit of the doubt.
While charges are not a guilty verdict, and while it still doesn't mean DM was directly responsible for those kids going missing, it has certainly removed the benefit of doubt as to his general, moral character.

Martell has been released with conditions and is due back in court on March 2.

Global News has reached out to Martell for comment.
Stepfather of two missing N.S. kids charged with sexual assault of adult, forcible confinement | Globalnews.ca

I am curious if DM will talk now that things have amped up a notch and he is no longer facing a narrative but actual criminal charges
I can only assume by this point that he's got a lawyer advising him to STFU, but I guess we'll see!

somehow I think we may hear from him, if only via social media. DM doesn't strike me as someone who CAN STFU. He seems to be his own worst enemy in that way.
