So what’s with Dryden Lake? I think google map isn’t quite correct [...]

I'll have to have a look at it. It looks to me like Middle River starts near the end of their driveway, where it is fed by several creeks. I have no idea why they would mention Dryden Lake as the starting point. There's a couple creeks that join up near their driveway and then they join up with another creek coming from Lansdowne Lake.

[...]

“It starts at Dryden Lake near Glengarry Station”

So that's an interesting discrepancy. Wikipedia seems to think the Middle River originates at Dryden Lake. Every map source has it originating in a wet area near Jack/Lilly's driveway where two creeks meet. In any case, if we go by the maps the Middle River does meet up with the creek flowing out of Dryden Lake eventually. Based on size the maps seem more correct.

All this is academic, or course. There's a waterway originating near their driveway that eventually leads to Middle River of Pictou. So they are going to search that waterway with the mind that changes in the water level etc could have made a difference since it was last searched.

Made a little pic.... approximate location of their driveway is in red. The so-called "Middle River of Pictou" flows off to the right. It is not much of a waterway, frankly. More of a small creek, really, at this point.

Children with abuse/neglect histories often present with similar needs/symptoms behavioral and developmentally as ASD needs and symptoms

Google maps is good at plotting the location of highways, roads and streets. But creeks and rivers, not so much, I’ve noticed this before. But I’m sure search groups including SAR have access to more precise information so they know where they want to go. IMO it wouldn’t be a wise idea to set off in the rugged wilderness relying solely on google. JMO

Just curiosity The unverified vehicle that was allegedly heard turning or stopping at a certain point on the road . Does that point give access to the river .

Hypothetically speaking if the time line is somehow off because of fears or whatever and the kids went missing sometime during the night or early hours ( the vehicle was reported to be heard up until 5am ) would it have stopped to gain access to this river because they feared drowning ? Could the excitements before bed be about swimming ?, Daniel almost immediately began searching water areas too .

Thank you for this. I think it’s True. But it doesn’t make that child autistic. Maybe it does for some doctors that aren’t qualified in autism. Idk. S/s may present to be similar in some cases. But that doesn’t mean they’re authentic autistic children imo. Moo

Yep exactly, it presents that way. And we as professionals unfortunately sometimes miss trauma (I’m talking big T or little t here) because it appears to be ASD or adhd or another behavioral health dx

This is why when going for an assessment with your child. The neurologist or psychologist will ask for your medical history and background and questions re parenting too I was even asked for my parents medical history and their background so the neurologist could take the whole picture into account when deciding if autism was present or if social circumstances , parenting problems and behavioural issues were the cause. Grant it I live in a different country so dont know if the assessment is as detailed in Canada .

Best I can do.

1. Lansdowne Lake - apparently searched by SAR divers
2. Middle River of Pictou
3. Dryden Lake
4. Martell residence

Oldrieve said approximately 40 local residents will take part in Saturday’s search, which will begin at dawn and continue until dusk, with the possibility of extending into Sunday. Due to shifting water levels in recent months, he believes certain areas need to be examined again.

“If they were underwater at the time of the initial searching along that river, they would have surfaced and they would’ve gone downriver a bit,” he said. “It’s not so much that it’s a tactic (previous searchers) haven’t used. It’s maybe a tactic that they haven’t revisited since that initial time.”

Pictou County councillor Donald Parker welcomed the renewed volunteer efforts.

“The RCMP have done everything they can here, and the search and rescue have done a tremendous job and they just couldn’t find them,” Parker said. “But if we can get other searchers coming in and whether they find them or not, I don’t know, but at least they’re trying.”

That would seem the kids had direct access to a river within feet of their home . And if they were too excited to wait for thr pool to be placed by janie . This would seem to a 4 and 6 year old as a Fantastic alternative.

I always felt lilly popping her head in and out of the room was her way of checking to see if the adults had gone back to sleep . . Twice it is mentioned the kids were excited . The night before and mbm states in documents she could hear them laughing and chattering in their bed room on the morning of their disappearance.

Mbm has been in touch with the bring me home charity and it was through them she released her written letter . She may well have filled in the charity about the finer details we have queried and wondered about .

Maybe I'm getting my hopes too high but I feel something will be found this weekend even if its just a backpack or Wellington boot 🤞🤞🤞

kids kept home from school because one or both are getting over a sickness, and excitement over swimming? On May 2nd, when the temps were: 48 / 36 °F and Mostly cloudy before noon. It's a thought but I just don't see it as likely.

ETA I am with you, I sure hope SOMETHING can be found that helps the investigation

There was no show and tell so who knows if it was purchased before the raking or the plan was to go and buy it once all the preparation was done

Roughly 9°/2°. But if it's wrong, blame Google.

My thought is, I wouldn't put too much weight on how kid's are supposed to act when sick. Cold are different from flus.

There are the lingering cough germs where the kids and adults might not be that sick but that cough holds on for a month or two (saw this last year and this year at schools/work) and not great to be around people if they think you're contagious when it's a month old cough.

When my kids are sick we take them for beach walks to get fresh air. We are an active family and sickness doesn't always slow us down unless it's a brutal one or flu - feverish, lethargic, vomiting, passing out tired/exhausted and worn out.

Last time my little one stayed home sick she wanted 2 extra days home from school because she loved cozy time at home with family, to be in jammies and like a break from school. MOO JMO
