The connection I make is home life was chaotic. Which is somewhat verified by mbm stating she often felt overwhelmed. DM also gives us insight into mbm feeling overwhelmed.

None of us are perfect and at times will leave dirty dishes in the sink , laundry waiting to be dried or put away . This scenario is part of modern busy lives where both parents are working full time , kids in club and the running of the home can make the most energetic of us tired and having to prioritise needs over wants .

But both parents were basically stay at home parents with DM only working one day per week , they were young and not in any physical ill health that we know of , so the bigger deal is what prevented a set of pj's being pulled from the bag , was it prioritising something else ? Was it mental health ? Or was it a case of the unpacked laundry being an indicator of the circumstances surrounding the disappearance. I think this is the point others are making 🤔

I agree. Being overwhelmed may be the reason the children were left on their own in the morning. It also could be the reason why they weren’t sent off to school, especially if they were not eager to go, which could be the case if they were challenged in keeping up with other children in their classes. It can be a situation where the children ‘call the shots’ in order to avoid the child having a temper tantrum, which I sort of gathered by DM saying they wouldn’t listen to MBM.

But I’m not sure that the children going to bed in their clothes is an indication of anything other than the way it is with strong willed children. For whatever reason, never did figure it out, my grandson hated putting on his pjs and sometimes it was just not worth the fight after he tucked himself into bed with blankets up to his chin. I suspected it was because he didn’t like getting up in the morning and he saved time by not having to get dressed. He would’ve wore the same clothes all week if he had his way.

Oh I get strong will winning and mum not having the will to put up the fight .
But no where ever does it claim the kids where not put in bed clothes because of them being strong willed or that a battle ensued . I know you are aware of this . My point was just that other than prehaps a home life that was chaotic or mental health issues or spending the time scrolling on a phone that could be used to put away clothes which is a common occurrence There was nothing stopping one of them Pulling 2 sets of pj's out of the bag that evening they were home since about 3.11 pm as this is when it's reported in documents that the car stopped moving after the return journey home from new Glasgow.

I don’t recall any reason stated at all for why the children went to bed in their clothes, other than that’s how it was believed to be known what they were wearing the next morning when they were reported missing. It’s only our speculation filling in the blanks.

Perhaps for whatever reason they couldn't take the jackets, but Daniel did report that two of his sweaters were missing. Maybe the kids took them to be warm.

But even so, I think they would still be waaaaay to cold to go wander in the woods and even less likely to want to go swim. It was nearly freezing!
If they had played outside for a bit, they should have gotten cold and should have wanted to go somewhere warm. Not in the woods / to the river.

IMO

Edit: typos
In my experience a 9°C spring day, after a winter of -20°C, seems like t-shirt weather. To cold for swimming, but definitely sweater weather.

Yes prehaps a week of overwhelm resulted in it being an easier option to call the kids in sick therefore not having to expel already depleted energy levels unpacking clean clothes for school.
But why was it a week of overwhelm? Only one of the adults went to work one day a week, and from the sound of things, very hands on and helpful with the kids.
IMO

I was thinking about this earlier and wondered if maybe Daniel was working under the table. Cut out the tax man. Times are tough these days.

Speculation on my part

On a personal level I don't see a reason that would cause so much overwhelm to not be able to unpack laundry or for that matter need multiple lie ins after early night sleep but that's only my opinion and I can stay up till 3am and rise at 6.30am not a bother but I'm probably just wired that way

Depression? IIRC something about what Maleyha was doing in New Glasgow was contained in the documents. Depression can happen to anyone and any medical related information would no doubt be redacted. Purely speculation but it might’ve also prompted her mother to leave with her.

No news is not good news.
Yeah I felt this . But is the no news they found something and are deeply upset or did they find nothing and are discouraged?

I did expect to see some sort of update on fb from the various sources such as the bring them home charity organising the search or BG but nothing yet .

No, nothing says to me nothing was found. Although I suppose that’s good news to those who believe the children are still alive somewhere.

Neither was any update posted on their FB after yesterday’s N.S. search for the other missing fellow, Jessie Morrissey. At best I’d expect we might hear whether or not this search is to be continued tomorrow. It’s already dark there, sunset was an hour ago.

Just searched on Google and fb nothing from any source . I did see that the searchers were apparently using the community centre as a base and cbc had a reporter there according to a post on fb but I've checked the news feed and nothing

Just caught the tail end of the news. Lilly & Jack's names were mentioned, but I didn't hear much else, I'm guessing no new developments.

That's a serious allegation of illegal activity with no evidence to suggest it. His finances and bank account were checked and he was guilt-free about that part of his life.

CTV’s report about the search is in past tense. I guess that says it all.

“A new search took place Saturday for two missing Nova Scotia children.

Jack and Lilly Sullivan were reported missing on May 2 from their home on Gairloch Road in Lansdowne Station, N.S.

Now, more than six months after they were reported missing, an Ontario-based group was in the Pictou County area conducting a new search.”

I was thinking depression too, possibly post partum depression that was maybe undiagnosed or crept up on her.

Post partum depression doesn't always hit right after the baby. The first year with a baby can be overwhelming. Lots of doctor's appointments, check ups, vaccinations, etc. Transportation to get to the appointments as well can be stressful.

If she had depression and had no mental clarity, disorganized thoughts... that can be very hard and overwhelming. MOO JMO
