*If I’m recalling it right*, DM took a reporter near where the blanket was found, but they didn’t give an exact location. It’s a video, likely the CBC.

I’ll try to find it when I’m able.

Yes, I carefully matched the horizon and certain branches in trees.... this is where DM took the reporter. This roughly matches up with the RCMP saying it was 1 km from the residence.

Okay, so that must be why I thought it was found near the pipeline trail but I talked myself out of it. Thank you.

The relative who found it went on SM early on to say it was found on Lansdowne STATION Road, but then DM said it was found closer to the pipeline trail near the boot print. So, off Lansdowne Road.

I know it’s not a popular belief, but I think the children did follow the main roads and then turned on an access road. Kind of mimicking the possible school bus route—left from the property, right onto Lansdowne Road, then right again onto the access road.

Thank you for that. I was looking up the property lines. So it’s off the left side of Lansdowne Road?

On this property, possibly:

I had wondered why DM wasn’t cutting trees on his mother’s property for firewood, but there doesn’t seem to be enough land, imo.

DM has relatives on Lansdowne Road, if he thought the blanket was planted, maybe it was on their property (?)

Does anyone have written down the exact address of the trailer? It might help us better gage the distance to various roads.

IIRC the blanket was found close to DM family property. MOO

Sure wish we knew how high in the tree it was, but I haven't caught up so maybe someone here knows.

I don't think the piece of blanket was up in a tree at all. I think it was caught on a low lying tree branch. My theory is Lilly dropped it or it fell out of her knapsack on the Pipeline trail Road. As Ghostwheel surmised upthread, I think Lilly & Jack (bored) hoofed it to the end of the driveway, went NW on Lansdowne Rd and someone picked them up from there. Someone they knew. Jmo

Isn’t that Landsdowne Station Road, where the blanket was not found?

So do we know who lives in the 2 houses there, any relatives? Without naming names of course. And where is the gully referred to awhile back?

I'm confused but why does the road say Gairloch Rd.? Does it run paralell to Lansdowne Rd.?

I'm not sure what it going wrong for you. Try opening the link in incognito mode. It shows a spot on Lansdowne Rd.

Here's an overhead view: Link. (switch to satellite view after opening)

To be honest, I've found all of the blanket/jumpers/backpack references slightly odd. I don't feel references to any of these is something that would lead to LE finding the children. Even if these items were found (I know the blanket was) unless the children are found with them then it's sort of not an important detail. I understand LE need every bit of information but..... In the case of the jumper, when did DM notice they were missing? Where were they missing from? The wardrobe? Was it felt the children took these with them? Without dropping them? It's an odd situation but surely more likely to be *not* linked to the children's disappearance? Sometimes I notice something has gone missing but actually have no idea when I last saw it. Could these jumpers have gone missing sometime *before* the children went missing?
Re the backpack. Had it ever been determined what this was used for? School? Bits and bobs? Sleepovers? How was it noticed to be missing, so quickly? Was it always kept in the same place? I think with children it can be even more challenging to know something is missing. You might notice something isn't where it normally is, but it could be left at school, in the car, outside, at a friend's house etc.
Such specific details yet we're still unclear exactly what the children were wearing that morning.

It could be. Locals familiar to the area might have a name for that exact spot. Jmo

Sounds more like presplains to account for missing items.

Things from inside the house that are no longer in the house.

Maybe clothing items seen in CCTV but unaccounted for.

Watching and waiting and JMO

Yeah I agree. The pink blanket information is much too vague and it’s not as if it’s a recent hot lead into locating the children as it was found the same day the children were reported missing last May. We know that area was thoroughly searched and the dogs found nothing either.

The location of DM’s two missing sweaters was never a high priority associated to this case, he just happened to mention it and for all we know he later found them and nobody told us. As for the backpack, it’s another guessing game if it’s meaningful and why Lilly had it with her.

Hopefully the RCMP really are seriously investigating a specific direction that will prove worthwhile to solving the disappearance of Lilly and Jack case. It must very a very difficult situation for loved ones, having no answers. Missing children is never the reason anyone would ever wish the media spotlight to shine upon them, it can be harsh.

It's closing in on a year since these babies went missing. I cannot believe there hasn't been any kind of break in this case! I am also shocked that it never really garnered national attention for very long. I have brought it up in conversations and have not had one person who has known about it. I guess if they were found murdered, people would pay more attention, and missing is just meh? And I live a half hour from the border with Canada, 1.5 hours to Ottawa, etc. So, we do have Canadian news here.

Maybe I followed this case because the kids were close to my granddaughter's age, I don't know. Some cases just call out to me and I have taken a break from WS for a bit, but keep popping in to check and see. The latest case of Christopher Palmer missing in the Outer Banks brought me back.
