CANADA Canada - Jack, 4 & Lily Sullivan, 6, Vulnerable, wandered from home 10am, Gairloch Rd, Landsdowne Station, Pictou County, NS, 2 May 2025

If they went to the road, a passing vehicle would have seen them, so they went in the other direction.
Or they left the area in a vehicle. Frankly, all of the evidence seems to be pointing to this. After four days, the only traces of the children within a 4 km (~2.5 mile) radius are possible footprints going to the road. It seems like there's a very low probability now that they will be located nearby. The mother raised this possibility on Saturday (asking for an Amber Alert) and the Stepfather has raised this since Sunday (asking for police to monitor the NB/NS border and airports, asking anyone to come forward with information, etc.).

Yes this could well be a custody issue but then surely if there were any hint of this an amber alert would have been issued. Does a vehicle reg, make/model have to be known to issue an amber alert? I’ve forgot.

From the information "out there" so far, I can imagine these kiddies often played out unsupervised just in this little area. "Grandma" (his mother and brother) lives right there too so they probably pop over there unannounced often, both families thinking if the kids aren't with us, they are over with them.
This could perhaps explain mother and "stepfather's" lax attitude both being in bed at 10am "feeding the baby" (both feeding a 16m.o.!?)
On this occasion, MAYBE ....
where are the kids?
must be with them,
ring and check
not with you either?
Everyone outside calling their names and searching the immediate vicinity.
No sign of the kids after X amount of time, best we contact the police...

So, if the above happened as it usually would, and they alerted LE at 10am, the kids could have been gone much longer!?

IMO JMO MOO

More new information - there was an argument at the property (on Saturday). The Stepfather was accused. His mother kicked the children's Mothers' family out.

"He said there was an argument between the two families out in the yard of the home that day.

"My mother had to kick ... some people off the property cause they were saying that I did it, I had something to do with it, and I'm the only one here fighting for them, which is sad," he said."

Making a little more sense now ...
Keep talking step dad, keep talking!

Car parts? Are there junky vehicles? If so, surely someone has looked in vehicle trunks????
"On Monday, RCMP came and went from the home scattered with children’s toys and car parts on the side of a rural highway where Mr. Martell waited for news with his brother and mother, who also lives on the property in a trailer."

I would like to see the link where it states the stepdad’s mother and brother live on the site as well. Does anyone have a link?

That explains why the mother has left.

I hope LE re interview her now she’s away from stepdad to see whether or not SHE actually saw the children that morning.

I think LE definitely know this is not a straight forward missing children’s case im afraid.

Thank you! I obviously missed that part…speed reading.

that tracks. JMO. I have a feeling her family showed up and has some pretty strong opinions, which they expressed. His family (mother and brother?) told them to leave, and his girlfriend/wife went with them when they did.

That is very different from the [paraphrased] - she left to go stay with her family, blocked me, and I don't know why - that we heard earlier this morning. JS

Wasn’t he just saying a day or two ago that he had no idea why she had left/wasn’t speaking to him? That seems an odd thing to say if there was in fact some kind of confrontation where she/her family members were accusing him.

If there was some sort of confrontation between families and she left without any sort of explanation or conversation, his comment makes perfect sense.

In any case, the parents are not named suspects in this awful case.

He was better off with a shrug and a “I don’t know”. I can understand this is very stressful time for all but there’s absolutely no need to share family drama with the public. We don’t need to know about their family spats. JMO

This one is a tough nut to crack. I keep thinking that if the kids wandered off into the rural woods and died in the elements, this seems like an area where predators might be big enough to take their small bodies away, making any remains even smaller and harder to find. And I hate typing that out. JMO.
