CANADA Canada - Jack, 4 & Lily Sullivan, 6, Vulnerable, wandered from home 10am, Gairloch Rd, Landsdowne Station, Pictou County, NS, 2 May 2025

I saw this case on my fb newsfeed. My immediate thoughts, the children didn’t wander off. After skimming the thread, my thoughts are, the children didn’t wander off. If the children are supposedly autistic (as reported by the SF up thread) I cannot see that an autistic child would do this. I suspect they are both somewhere on the property. I hope I am wrong and they are safe somewhere.
That seems more likely. They wouldn't wander far unless they intended to go somewhere - somewhere they walked before? Another search of car parts, toys, crawl spaces and more would be a good idea.

Do you know an autistic child? IMO

It happens quickly: A child on the autism spectrum bolts from supervision and disappears – an emergency called “autism elopement.” While any child can wander off, children on the autism spectrum face particular risks. These include the lure of water and the risk of drowning.

Some youngsters on the spectrum will follow this strong attraction to water and head for a nearby pond, river, or swimming pool. Such circumstances have made drowning a leading cause of death for these missing youths.

ETA: Autistic children are much more likely to wander, not less.

I may be reading this wrong. Are you saying an autistic child wouldn't wander off?
I think it’s less likely (this is based on all 4 of my GC being Autistic, who would rather bite their own arm off than go outside and deal with the world). I do appreciate though that A children are all different and face different challenges, just like non a children.

SMB it really depends on where they are on the spectrum doesn’t it? Not all Autistic children have the same challenges. Also note that the SF says he *thinks* the children are autistic. This indicates to me that they do not face the challenges faced higher up the spectrum.

Here's a picture that CBC News ran of the property. I don't see any other dwellings on site, so I would guess that Stepfather's mother lives in the RV that is parked behind the house, on the right.
Otto posted a google image of the property which seems to show another structure behind the mobile home.

when the stapdads mother kicked "some people" off the property, it doesnt say who that was. Could it have been just random people (like the onlookers at the Laundrie home and many others)

Then the mother leaves to be with her family in Truro ( same place Dylan Ehler was missing from)
Did her family come to the property the kids are missing from? Its not very clear,

except he says the two families argued in the yard when describing:

More new information - there was an argument at the property (on Saturday). The Stepfather was accused. His mother kicked the children's Mothers' family out.

"He said there was an argument between the two families out in the yard of the home that day.

"My mother had to kick ... some people off the property cause they were saying that I did it, I had something to do with it, and I'm the only one here fighting for them, which is sad," he said."

I guess if I was the stepfather I would take her leaving with her family to mean that she agrees with them or is at least having doubts. It seems like a very clear message to me, but I’m realizing now after posters here have shared different opinions that people can certainly read things very differently. I still think “no idea” was strong phrasing from him given what had occurred between the two families. The stepdad at the very least knew L&J’s mom’s family was having doubts about him.
Also, after this confrontation when his mother kicked the children's mother and the children's maternal grandmother off the premises, she "publicly" ended her r'ship with him.. IMO something occured during that confrontation or before (the children going missing for example) to make her mind up that her 3 year r'ship with the father of her youngest is finished! He claims "he doesn't know"
One of them has some questions to answer here regarding these kiddies disappearing.

"In the yard," does sound like they were there, and then maybe the Mom left with them back to Truro.
why doesnt he just say that then, instead of referring to them as "some people."
minimizing (MOO) and then immediately goes into how he is the only one "fighting" for the kids and how sad that is.

On one of his interviews, he clearly has a scratch on his face.....
yes, I've seen that scratch on his cheek beneath his eye in two video interviews (wearing different clothes) on two different days but there's no way to know if it was there before kids reported missing.

Thinking it can probably be easily explained as gotten while searching the brush. But in light of news of a family conflict I think it equally possible it happened sometime during that conflict.

They talk about how they tell them not to go outside , and they always watch them, but clearly thats not the case, not that day anyway. They got out of an unlocked and silent screen door.( allegedly)

5 days and no trace? no knapsack, no pull up, Those drones have some pretty good capabilities, heat seeking , they can detect colors that are very small. I mean its still spring the trees arent even full yet, how dense can it be?

Yes unless the people living on the property did or someone else but it hasn’t been reported
Yes, you're right, I shouldn't have stated it that way... Should have said except for what the mom and her boyfriend have reported...

But if there is any false reporting happening, that means there's a much longer window of time that they may have been missing, since school was out on Wednesday and they were kept home the next day(s). Worrisome.

lots of emphasis from the adults about how they have taught the children never to go outside alone and that they are always with them when outdoors and only take them into the woods back towards the cabins they have built back there. But then also emphasis on the "silent" back sliding door.

I don't love it I must say. trying to stay hopeful but this feels more and more off.
