If they did indeed wander off, I would think the search would be in recovery mode now? This one is a tough nut to crack. I keep thinking that if the kids wandered off into the rural woods and died in the elements, this seems like an area where predators might be big enough to take their small bodies away, making any remains even smaller and harder to find. And I hate typing that out. JMO.
I was reading the thread of the 3 year old missing from the area and trying to determine when they switched it to recovery for a similar timelineIf they did indeed wander off, I think the search would be in recovery mode now.
That would be good to know.I was reading the thread of the 3 year old missing from the area and trying to determine when they switched it to recovery for a similar timeline
Also in the UK: here most children will start school at 4, although they don’t legally need to go until they’re 5. Nursery/preschool isn’t compulsory, so technically, a UK 4-year-old could be in nursery/preschool, school, or neither.I’m not sure of the Canadian school system but over here in the UK
A 4 year old would be in Nursery - they are only entitled to 15 free hours per week (unless both parents work then they get 30 hours) so if the system is similar to here it could just be that he wasn’t due in that day.
I’m also very uncomfortable at this point
It does make you wonder why the 'people' believe that he had something to do with it. Not speculating anything, but wondering why these 'people' felt so strongly that he was involved that they needed to be kicked off the property.More new information - there was an argument at the property (on Saturday). The Stepfather was accused. His mother kicked the children's Mothers' family out.
"He said there was an argument between the two families out in the yard of the home that day.
"My mother had to kick ... some people off the property cause they were saying that I did it, I had something to do with it, and I'm the only one here fighting for them, which is sad," he said."
Knowing what we know now about the confrontation, saying he has “no idea” why she left does not make any sense in my opinion. He’s just told the press exactly why she left, so I don’t understand why he would have said he had no idea less than 24 hours ago. That said, I’m sure it’s a struggle for anyone related to these kids to get their message across to the public right now. Probably not sleeping much, not used to being the public eye, etc.If there was some sort of confrontation between families and she left without any sort of explanation or conversation, his comment makes perfect sense.
In any case, the parents are not named suspects in this awful case.
Yes, that was his name. Do you know when that changed from a search to a recovery?Dylan Ehler went missing exactly 5 years ago today, less than 100 km from this location. His boots were found in the river (in separate places) approximately seven hours after he was reported missing.
Not really. The maternal grandmother apparently accused the stepfather of doing something to the children. The paternal grandmother asked the accusers to leave. For unknown reasons, the mother and 16 month left home after the altercation. She didn't need to leave, and many have pointed out how unusual it is that she left the one place that the children know as home.Knowing what we know now about the confrontation, saying he has “no idea” why she left does not make any sense in my opinion. I guess if I was the stepfather I would take her leaving with her family to mean that she agrees with them or is at least having doubts. It seems like a very clear message to me, but I’m realizing now after posters here have shared different opinions that people can certainly read things very differently. I still think “no idea” was strong phrasing from him given what had occurred between the two families. The stepdad at the very least knew L&J’s mom’s family was having doubts about him.Not really. She's not the "paternal grandmother". She is not related to these children. Her son is in a relationship with their mother. Not really. Are they survivalist?thank you I was just wondering about these newly mentioned cabins. So they would be like a rough hunting type shack not meant for living or staying in over the long term but to shelter in on a temporary basis.
I wonder if there are any wells, either active or inactive on their property or adjacent properties?I saw this case on my fb newsfeed. My immediate thoughts, the children didn’t wander off. After skimming the thread, my thoughts are, the children didn’t wander off. If the children are supposedly autistic (as reported by the SF up thread) I cannot see that an autistic child would do this. I suspect they are both somewhere on the property. I hope I am wrong and they are safe somewhere.
