i’m curious what we can expect from the court hearing! i read that it’s unclear whether it’s going to be livestreamed until it has already started because the judge will need to ask both parties if they have any opposition to cameras in the court room.

can we expect new facts, new statements?

after the last time we saw LM i definitely also wonder whether he will be escorted in a similar way or if it will be way more toned down, etc.

The first-degree murder charge alleges he killed the executive “in furtherance of an act of terrorism,” which is legally defined as an intent to intimidate or coerce the civilian population or a government unit. One of the second-degree counts also alleges Mangione committed murder “as a crime of terrorism.”

Mangione’s Pennsylvania-based attorney Thomas Dickey asked the court to allow remote appearances. The court agreed on Tuesday.

“The federal authorities will make the Defendant available to participate remotely in Blair County proceedings, Attorney Dickey will consult with his client and file a certification within thirty (30) days, stating the Defendant’s position on remote attendance at any future court events,” the court filing said. “In doing so, Attorney Dickey shall specify the types and nature of the proceedings, if any which the Defendant agrees to attend remotely.”

I find it disgusting that these attorneys are seeking to make money off of the murder of an innocent man and father of two.

I don't know that it is. Of course we have seen lots of instances were a crowdsource is used to raise funds for legal fees. But, I have never a case where an attorney or firm itself has set up a donation page like this. It is odd. There are some third-party payer concerns that could come in to play I suppose. Hoops that have to jumped through. Funds have to be properly kept in the attorney trust account. I don't think I would ever do this. I would be concerned about donors coming back and wanting their money back if something happens. I think this is something where bar associations will need to clarify some rules about this.
