Both excellent points, IMO.
This appears to me to be yet another example of hybristophilia, when women fall in love with murderers. In this case I think it’s further amplified by two things—- one is that his fan club can assure themselves that LM is a good dude fighting against the corrupt health care system and therefore is not a murderer at heart. (This also appeals to his male fans). The second is yes, they find him physically appealing.
O.J.Simpson is another another category, IMO, as he was super famous, already had a billion fans from football, movies and commercials, and they just couldn’t conceive of him as a double murderer. Plus the racial aspect factored in.
To your other point,
@girlhasnoname, I absolutely agree, as well.
Since his manifesto made it crystal clear that he allegedly believed he was on a mission to rectify a grievous wrong, that he was the only one willing to do this, then stand behind it. I know he’s saying he’s NG because he believes he was in the right, but if you want to be a martyr for a cause, then accept your penalty for your so-called sacrifice.
