Give him a note pad and crayons.
Throw in a burger and call it a happy meal.

He had soooooo many life choices and laptop opportunities. Maybe he shouldn't have shot a dad in the back, foregoing those freedoms.

I’ll bet he has a long list of ‘wants’.

Too bad, you’re in jail now Luigi.

Here’s a writing pad and Sharpie.

As for needing it for his defense, Luigi is not part of his defense team nor does he have a legal background.

He is the alleged perp.

His lawyers can bring/send him copies of documents.

I agree that LM likely has a long list of wants, and regarding the request for a laptop with limited access, his attorneys are saying that there are so many documents and videos, etc. from the prosecution that there is no way that they can sit down with LM and review all the material with him, hence a laptop would allow LM to review the prosecution's materials (documents and videos).

The Sixth Amendment of the Constitution does guarantee a criminal defendant the right to participate in his/her own defense, and so LM actually is a member of his defense team in that regard. But whether or not he should have a laptop to review materials should be considered, IMO, in relation to what is the norm - do other defendants have this right to a laptop to prepare for their defense or not? And under what circumstances? I think that precedent should be reviewed by the judge in the case with arguments from both the defense (LM and the attorneys representing him) and the prosecution.

Luigi wants a laptop.
I guess I don't see that as an unreasonable request. So long as he has no access to things he shouldn't have. Most discovery is digital in nature in this day and age and it is not an uncommon request IMO for defendant to request a means of accessing that digital evidence to aid their counsel in their own defense.

Agree, Alex Murdaugh had a laptop in jail to help in his Defense. I believe it had very limited access, mostly programs for reading documents and the ability to view video but no internet connection IIRC.

As much as I hate to say it, because LM said he did this and we see video that supports he did it, he is still constitutionally allowed to be active and participate in his own defense.

Why not man up LM, confess and be the true Martyr you professed to be when you killed Brian Thompson in cold blood? You made a stand for the less fortunate and down trodden against Capitalism because "somebody had to do it" (your words). Reality check I guess???

I've seen other defendants in cases have limited access to one, no wifi connection. If he gets one, LM won't be out there posting shirtless selfies on Insta and whatever to his adoring fan girls/boys. ;) 🤢

I’m ok as long as he’s not creating a martyrs website to export thru his legal team to raise profile and funds. I find him revolting and resent this parasite wasting taxpayers ££ with a trial.

I wonder if P Diddy has one?

Maybe if Luigi Mangione did not have a Bachelors of Science in Engineering (computer engineering) and a Master of Science in Engineering (in computer and information science). His graduate curriculum was concentrated in AI.

He has experience as a UI programming intern where he worked on a video game.

He also worked as a data engineer for TrueCar.

I do not trust this guy, it wouldn’t take him long to hack into ‘whatever’ and set up a laptop to be whatever he really wants it to be.

Remember, we’ve been told that he made the gun that killed Brian Thompson.

What’s a little toying with a computer.

This request needs to be denied.

I’m certain that other defendants were no where near as knowledgeable about computers for reading documents.

Give this fella paper copies.

Prosecutors say Luigi Mangione had two “heart-shaped notes” snuck into his socks prior to his last court appearance.(Mangione didn’t end up wearing the socks because he thought “they did not look good.”)

Lol. "Defendant's fashion needs."

The freaking arrogance of this guy.

He needs socks to transport his contraband, but once he had that he couldn't bear to wear socks that he felt didn’t live up to his image.

His stupid adoring public really does not grasp that he’s not some top model, but just another cold-blooded killer.

IMO

Uh, Lou, the Country club dad- no socks, khakis and loafers does NOT look GOOD either.

(Though, I suppose that Lou probably not allowed shoes with laces.)

Continue to find him utterly repulsive.

They should just make him wear prison shower shoes to court- with ankle chains.

Get rid of the fashion crim.

Put him in an orange jumpsuit and shower shoes or slippers.

If a member of the fan club was able to access clothing brought in by his lawyers, why isn’t there a huge investigation?

If you can tuck a note, gag, into his socks that are being protected??? Cmon!

Call me a skeptic.

UPDATE: We have the letters!Luigi’s lawyers say that they “inadvertently did not see” them in the socks and that it was an innocent mistake.“We are rooting for you! Keep your head held high.”
