Police said officers responded to two different homes in Maple Grove after getting reports of a bomb threat just before 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 4.

No arrests or suspects related to the bomb threats have been announced, and the fatal shooting in New York City is still being investigated.

Have to say, IMO that easy, relaxed smile suggests someone comfortable with himself and any imminent plans. Understanding that it's not known where or when these video captures were made, I see an individual untroubled by the commitment he has made. Either that, or an individual already disconnected from reality, crazy like a fox. JMO.
I agree. I don't think it's "a smirk" at all as was referenced in a media headline. To me, his smiling expression is one of happiness and excitement.

It depends. Sometimes there's no benefit to releasing the name of a suspect if you're hot on his tail, as you don't want to tip him off. If they know who he is and where he likely is, they probably won't release his name until he's arrested. If they do need help then we'll see a name.

Police identify rare WW2 gun as firearm used to kill Brian Thompson, sources say. Investigators believe the firearm used to kill Brian Thompson on Wednesday was a modern version of a rare World War Two gun.

Sources told the New York Post that detectives focusing on a Connecticut gun shop have zeroed in on a purchase of a B&T VP9 gun.

The model is an update on a Welrod pistol developed in the Second World War.

Detectives swooped in on the gun shop on Thursday after their investigation targeted a specific purchase, although it is not known if the person who bought the gun was the suspect in Thompson's slaying.

It seems odd that a purchase in Connecticut stood out without it being something odd.

Professional or not, shooting with pedestrians and drivers around and hitting only the target is a darn good shooter to me.
Agree. We tend to overestimate how easy it is to hit a moving target (even at close range) and this guy was skilled. And he was firing a single action gun. He also chose a location with zero bystanders in the background.
This shooter has a lot of practice, IMHO

Most of these releases aren’t from law enforcement directly, they’re from sources within law enforcement (leaks). We always see this in big cities, especially in New York. These reporters are very well connected.

Is this what @bossman said? Sorry, this thread is moving so fast!

As for methods: “Even (the shooter’s) arrival at the site, 5 or 10 minutes before the target gets there, indicates possibly some level of surveillance or intelligence that he was using to know to go to the exact right place at the exact right time,” Andrew McCabe, a former FBI deputy director, told CNN Thursday morning.
I'm with Andrew! MOO

Maybe because he gave a false name/id at the hostel? He would be stupid to use his own name.

This is why:

NYPD detectives tracing sales of the kind of gun used to kill the UnitedHealthcare CEO arrived at a shop in Connecticut on Thursday that sold the same type of gun, according to police sources.

Police believe the shooter used a B&T Station Six, known in Britain as a Welrod pistol.

The gun does not have a silencer but rather a long barrel that enables the 9mm to fire a nearly silent shot.

It requires manually cycling ammunition from the magazine, which is consistent with what is seen in the video of the shooting. The weapon is not easily attainable so investigators have been running down all recent purchases.

The actual gun used in the shooting of Thompson has not been recovered so this is one investigative lead authorities are following.

he seems to be into cool design! with the “rare spy gun” and the fancy photography backpack, he seems like someone who is geeky about these kind of things
