My guess is that particular weapon is a rare purchase, so was narrowed down to CT fairly quickly. It seems odd that a purchase in Connecticut stood out without it being something odd.

By Ronny Reyes
New York Police have the fingerprints of the shooter who executed UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson, with officials also working to get into his burner phone for more clues, law enforcement sources told The Post.
The NYPD had recovered the burner phone belonging to the gunman after he fled the crime scene and disappeared into Central Park Wednesday morning, minutes after killing the executive.

UnitedHealthcare CEO shooting live updates: FBI joins investigation into Brian Thompson’s killing

It's a male! Look at the hands in the Starbuck's pic. Not fully convinced they're the same person.I can see both. I don't know of that dark area near the eye is an eyebrow, but if it is, then it seems pretty bushy to me, not something typical of a woman, but could be. I think this nose is very distinct and that smile is as well as the chin being very pointy at least from this angle. Someone surely will recognize this person from these features. Even the fit of the jacket is odd.. maybe there is a thick layer of clothing under the jacket or even a bullet proof vest? I think the face is of someone very tiny, but the jacket give the impression of someone with some meat on their bones.
It could be a feminine male or even possibly someone born a male, but identifies as female now. I am not sure how to word that and I mean not disrespect if this is not the correct way to describe this.
It strikes me that the words - while seeming to mirror the three "D" words in the title of the book critical of health insurers - could ALSO represent a threat intended to intimidate any potential witnesses, particularly with the one word changed to "DEPOSE."Police stated the words on the live rounds and shell casings were meticulously written with a sharpie. Not that it matters, just wanted to clarify.
Thanks for posting that! Here is part of the timeline they put out. Why would he be exiting the 57th Street F train station and coming from the Upper West Side to midtown that early in the morning if his hostel was across the street from the Hilton? Where was he that early if not at the hostel?CNN have created a nice visual timeline - https://edition.cnn.com/2024/12/05/us/timeline-unitedhealthcare-ceo-shooting-dg/index.html
Yeah! This isn't like some of the cases that are huge to us true crime nerds and maybe the state where it happened, but if you ask your parent or barista they've never heard of it and you're shocked (like Abby & Libby for me.)Someone will recognize him, I'm sure of it.
According to Citizen, it’s a police-involved shooting: 2 people shot, suspect in custody. Likely unrelated, but the story is still developing.Likely not connected, but I searched for similar announcements from this account and they seem to be exceedingly rare.

I dont think he used a suppressor. Rather, the built in barrel of the gun is designed to function as a suppressor. Not surprisingly, it also looks like one.
to the people who doesnt think the gun jammed look at the video
no it was a suppressor on it the db on the gun is 70 basically it has the same db as a hair dryerah i see, i was under the impression there was actually a (separate) suppressor on it. So then are these guns just more likely to jam by the way they are built?

UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson’s killer may have used modern version of rare WWII spy gun in brutal murder: sources
Investigators are eyeing a firearm purchase in Connecticut under the theory that the cold-blooded killer who executed UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson may have used a modern version of a rare Wo…nypost.com
The gun used by the shooter in Wednesday’s shocking Midtown slaying appears to match a B&T VP9, an update of the Welrod pistol — a suppressed firearm developed in the Second World War, sources told The Post.
A recent purchase of the gun by the Connecticut-based gunmaker is an investigative lead in the manhunt for the killer, who used an apparently silenced pistol, sources said.
Does to me, too. And the hand position looks feminine.
Sure, yes. But the guy could have grabbed a connecting flight through IAD or any other hub to almost anywhere, not necessarily to Europe.EWR is an international airport...LGA is not. LGA has flights to Canada and that's about it. Most flights to Europe depart in the evening. I think it's highly unlikely he went to the airport before the shooting.
