If no one else receives it, I hope the reward money would go to the flirty desk clerk. She did a bang up job in view of the camera.

Can I book online, but pay with cash?
Yes! You can reserve online, pay with cash and pick up your ticket at a Walmart, 7-Eleven or another one of ourPaySafe partner locations. See how, and get more info on all your payment options here.

That's from Greyhound's website...so he may have purchased his ticket in cash

UBER? Definitely requires a CC!
Burner phone, prepaid cards, gift cards, bogus email account, or using a stolen/hacked uber account. Seems the police would know more about him otherwise. Strange to use Uber and not just hail a cab, perhaps that would leave too much of an impression? Maybe city cabs are more likely have video surveillance, not sure on that point though.

I’m guessing they know about Uber from going through the phone that was left behind, given that they likely don’t know enough to subpoena anyone’s account.

The chief suspect in the killing of Brian Thompson appears to have dumped something on a pile of trash bags before shooting the UnitedHealthcare chief executive in New York, footage obtained by Newsweek shows.

The dumped object may hold vital DNA evidence about the killer's identity.

The newly emerged CCTV footage recorded on Manhattan's West 55th Street at 6:19 a.m. on Wednesday shows the man walking toward the Hilton Hotel.

There are two piles of garbage close to the Stage Star Deli at 105 West 55th Street, where the CCTV camera was recording.

The suspect walks past the first pile of blue plastic bags, then pauses in front of a pile of white plastic bags. He then leans forward and places some small object on one of the bags and continues walking. The suspect is wearing a gray backpack and dark shoes with white soles.

He arrived in an uber - doesn't mean he paid for the uber himself. Perhaps he was a guest of someone. He is a known flirt. Just saying.

I guess the point that I am trying to make is that I cannot fathom how this could be carried out by a random, young disgruntled UH patient/client, etc - to be able to so perfectly predict his schedule and movements for the day. I think those words on the bullets were made to throw suspicion in another direction.

It feels like a hit to me, and that would be either personal or financial (or perhaps both), and it's very interesting that he was in the middle of a large insider trading scandal.
Right. And one of the bullets with the word 'depose'. That alludes to his legal troubles. Which I believe is a decoy message.

This guy seems like an amateur hitman. If this was a financially or otherwise non-personally motivated hit, it seems like the hitman hired would have been a true professional. He wouldn't have stopped at Starbucks first. Some dude BT's years-long-estranged wife met and hired would more likely be an amateur who has experience with guns, but is by no means a pro.

Would the hostel be able to get an uber for their guest?

As amusing as the flirting thing is, I'm pretty sure you have to show your face to check into any hostel. It would be kind of a big security risk if they were letting in fully masked people all the time.

Yeah, I think this is likely an error. We’ve heard “cab,” but not “Uber.”

I’m sure John Miller would have mentioned that angle in his reporting on this if it was true.

The report above says he checked in with a fake NJ ID on his second stay at the hostel. Did he use it for the first stay as well?

NYPD running down hundreds of tips that have flooded in since CEO's murder

By Matt Troutman
The NYPD is running down hundreds of tips in the cold-blooded execution of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson -- and cops say keep them coming.

"You may think that piece of information is trivial. I'm telling you, please give us that information," said Carlos Nieves, the NYPD's assistant commission of public information.

"Trivial or not, it might be the piece of information that puts it all together for us."

Hundreds of tips have flooded into CrimeStoppers as of Friday morning, leaving the tip line's phones ringing off the hook and online portal inundated, Nieves said.

NYPD cops are checking out all tips, no matter how unlikely they seem, Nieves said.

"I went to school with him and this is who it is," one tipster said, according to Nieves.

"The guys in (CrimeStoppers) were actually saying, 'We hang up the phone and
another call comes in,'" Nieves said.

"One was actually coming in as I was speaking to them. It was actually a TikTok video and it says 'I think this is the guy.' So we have to look into that."

The call for tips was echoed by Mayor Eric Adams, who implored "every New Yorker and American" to contact cops if they recognize the suspect.

These skin masks are very thin and adjust to the contours of your face. This below is very basic but I am sure an assassin hired for this high profile job will have access to a more sophisticated version.
but those masks don't blink or move your mouth when you talk, dude. they're for fooling quick passersby and cameras on the street, not for actual human interaction.

  • #376
Also, you have to have an account to get an Uber. Not like just hailing a random cab.
I know someone who uses Uber gift cards for an account bc he doesn't have a credit card, not sure how the sign up is or if you can sign up with a fake name/Fake ID

unless some one ordered one for him... accomplice? Or he has a credit card with his fake NJ license name.... ? can you Uber with a gift card? (I know that some one still bought the gift card...)

Would the hostel be able to get an uber for their guest?
A friendly clerk might. :)

Did he arrive at the hostel in the uber or depart from the hostel in an uber? Was he alone?

Again, we have no proof he had any actual human interaction with the outer mask down beyond quickly showing the checkin clerk his “face”.
