New York Police Department investigators appear to be homing in on the possible identity of the suspected killer of UnitedHealthcare CEO in Manhattan, two people briefed on the investigation said.

Investigators now are working to track the possible whereabouts of the suspect, using thousands of investigative leads including the use of facial recognition technology and examining traces of DNA that could help find the killer, the people briefed on the probe said.

Investigators are still working to verify the information and aren’t yet certain they know the identity of the suspect.
What is said at the link is just a click bait rehash of what has already been said? Homing in? Possible identity? Suspected killer?

The article doesn't say anything about a single or couple of potential names.

Knowing what they are and have been doing...DNA, backpack, pics...they've been "homing in on the possible identity of suspected killer" since it happened.

I’m watching CNN live and they are using more definitive language. Had a Breaking News update (after the first homing in one) which was focused on there being one suspect narrowed down & that confirmed by two sources. We shall see if they publish it or they’re waiting for an LE announcement if it’s close enough

It was clear from their tv coverage that the situation has changed. It certainly sounds like they're on the verge of breaking this, as opposed to just making progress.

It’s coming via leaks, but two things typically happen in both profile cases like this and the reporters who report on them (Miller and CNN specifically).

The sources don’t share things that may hurt the investigation.

The reporters (especially guys like Miller), don’t share things that they know they shouldn’t.

That’s why I think they’re closer than merely having someone in their crosshairs.

if anyone comes across a good article that summarizes everything, please share it with us!

I would be watching the CNN or NY Times live updates or paying attention to Massguys posts.

I am sure it was booked. But his admin manages his calendar, not him. He didn’t even look where he was staying until a few days before. According the NYC news I just watched this perp went straight to that door of the Hilton when he arrived in NY and stood there for 30 min. How would he know? If this was planned it was very well orchestrated from someone very close. BT didn’t know he would use that door to get to the conference ten days before he was killed, he didn’t know he would be alone. The killer couldn’t have known that either. The were lying in wait for whoever came along. MOO
Is it known if BT arrived the day before the conference for board or exec meetings with his chiefs? If suspect was tailing him the day before, he would have known that BT preferred to enter Hilton at that particular entrance on the morning of the murder.

Still catching up on the thread so maybe others have already said this:

When he was ditching the backpack, maybe he didn't take time to "hide" it because he didn't know the level of publicity this case was going to get. I'm sure he figured on some & that LE would be looking to find him but I'm thinking he probably tossed it w/out much additional work on his part (like attempting to cover it in leaves, etc.) because he might have thought it would be found & stolen before LE found it. Plus, he probably didn't want to slow down while distancing himself from the crime scene. Jmo.

Agreed. I think they have already identified the suspect and most likely have him under surveillance but are just dotting their i’s and crossing their t’s before making the arrest.

Officers at my company had set times that they could sell stock so that there was never a question of impropriety. I believe the lawsuit over the stock sales is with a pension fund taking issue. I think that portion of this is a nothing burger.
I don't know what UHC's policies are re insider trading but it looks like they and other public companies will be required to make a public filing about their policies for the first time soon:

"In connection with the upcoming Form 10-K/proxy season, public companies with a fiscal year ending on December 31 will be required, for the first time, to publicly file their insider trading policies as exhibits to their Annual Report on Form 10-K pursuant to Item 408(b) of Regulation S-K. Prior to this SEC rules requirement, it was fairly uncommon for public companies to make their insider trading policies publicly available (on a voluntary basis)." When you look at a Google map of Central Park with the satellite filter, it blows my mind that he was able to exit the park so quickly without getting turned around?
Maybe he's more local than we imagined.
