No one but an American would target the CEO of a health insurance company.
Moo..but am American can hire person out of country. Shooter was in NY for long enough to figure transit. He had time to do walk thru's of transit and environment. It is all pretty logical. It does seem like he had a job, he did job, now he is gone....moo

I've said from the first I heard about it that whoever did this wants to be caught, but after sending everyone on a wild, convoluted goose chase.

This happens often with this type. They don’t care if they die because in their mind they have become famous for being a daredevil and their name will live on.

this is a repetition of adam's statement this morning. there's no name and his comments seem somewhat deceptive - we know but we don't want *him* to know? the nypd/ fbi seem only to have lots of footage but nothing else. and in a city with a hundred cameras for each block, of course they have footage - of an unknown shooter shooting, and then e-biking away. who? from where? to where? why? there seems yet to be any clue to answer any of that. he left the monopoly money, but he seems to still be carrying the get-out-of-jail-free card imo

It just seems so logical. I don't mean acceptable. Someone, beloved, dies a grisly death thru perceived neglect. Denied sufficient care. Leaving enough bills to bankrupt this man or his family. Wants to retaliate, death by cop after making a splash. Jmo

Wouldn't it be easier to disappear in NYC than a suburb? Also what if the suspect or his family lives in the Minneapolis area? The other reason could be that if this is a murder for hire situation, maybe the person that hired him is from the Minneapolis area.
It’s interesting to note from CNN’s timeline, there were four minutes between the shooting and when patrol officers arrived. That’s frankly incredible and you would absolutely not get that in Maple Grove (or even Minneapolis proper for that matter)

All kinds of symbolism with a veterinary kill gun, labeled bullets, and monopoly money. Every part of this seems as if it was meticulously planned out from start to finish by someone(s), and that he has no plans of getting caught. Laughing at the possibility, even. And so far at least it seems that he may very well be right.

Frankly, I'm not sure that one person could conceive of all of the ideological imagery and innuendo unless he is obsessed about the topic, and if he is obsessed by it then it seems there would likely be folks who would suspect him immediately. Unibomber's brother turned him in as soon as he was able to read the manifesto, for example.

And if this was a personal grievance and not an ideological one, it isn't likely that a game would've been employed here. Personal grievers tend to be more passionate about their specific circumstances and want to keep it intimate (i.e. it tends to be about a specific victim and not making some broad ideological statement).

In any case, just more IMO.
Just for kicks…
What do we know he left behind right before and shortly after (let’s assume it was dropped purposefully)
Don’t know what brands in SB for water and bars, but staples are:
Ethos water
Kind bar
Motorola phone (blue or seafoam green/teal)
Fake id
Peak Design rucksack
TH jacket
board game money
Think I’m forgetting something else

So I don't agree with killing anyone, of course. But I specifically don't agree with killing BT because IMO he was just a cog in a corporate machine. He'll be replaced with another homogenous analogue shortly and nothing of substance will change with UHC's policies. I think that in a late-stage capitalist society, no individual can be too important. The system itself will keep grinding along no matter who you shoot. In the end, while this sparked a lot of conversation, it achieved nothing for those who are against privatized corporate healthcare. The news cycle will move on to the next thing and someone's spouse's claim for cancer meds will be denied tomorrow. Life goes on (or doesn't).

But, if I may seem like I'm contradicting myself for a second, the reaction to this murder is quite interesting while it lasts. There is a quote frequently misattributed to Joseph Stalin, "The death of one man is a tragedy, the death of millions is a statistic." In this one case, though, the focus is on the statistic-the many who have suffered and died at the hands of profit-driven insurance companies, rather than the one man who has been murdered. I'm not saying it's right, I'm simply saying it's unusual. Is this just a particularly relatable issue? Are Americans tiring of the growing wealth inequality that puts the wealth of the few over the lives of many? I suppose time may tell.

I’m curious as to gow much in Monopoly money is in the bag and whether that number has any significance.

I walked the route from the murder site to Columbus and 86th today. Almost comical number of surveillance cameras at the shooting site. It’s hard to believe that there’s no good footage of what happened to the bike at that very busy intersection on the UWS.
