Try again. Listed.
According to definition, an assassin is one who murders an important person. Guess a killer of an important person needs to be successful to be called an assassin. So, Sara Jane Moore and Lynette Fromme, despite being called assassins, really weren't.
Exaclty. You understand. Let's put it this way: if your neighbor shoots you and you do not die, your neighbor is not a murderer, right? Same goes for an assasin. Simple.

This is an excellent point.

I spent a couple minutes with Google maps unsuccessfully trying to find this location.

You are right that it doesn’t look like the UWS, or at least the corner of 86th and Amsterdam. It looks a bit more like the area by the GWB, but I couldn’t find that stoop or door right by the terminal. Perhaps he got out a few blocks away?

Thinking he didn’t want the cabbie to know he was going the bus station.

Is it just me or do his eyebrows look drawn on? Especially in the bottom left photo?
To me variations in how things look in pics can be due to lighting, shadows, the camera, etc. So his eyebrows being drawn on doesn't seem likely to me.

The quickness with which they responded doesn't surprise me; NYPD has an enormous presence, especially in mid-town Manhattan. I doubt they knew who the person was when they got the call. It's the follow-up that's certainly disproportionate to what an average person would get. It being such a public and curiously targeted attack made it so, I think.

I don't think it's about tourism, though. I don't think any average person should or does feel unsafe because of this.
I am thinking along the lines that the hotel won't be in a rough part of the city, and even if they didn't know who the victim was they'd be considering the impact of a shooting there. I'm not from the USA, btw, so I'm assuming that it's usually a safer area of the city.

Yet it was a targeted attack
Yes, it was. I guess my point is LE is scrambling to solve this case for many reasons. One of them is likely pressure from the mayor because who wants to be known as a city with unsolved assassinations?

I’ve read it a couple times and I feel like I have to clear one thing up. I also work for a Fortune500 corporation. If anything happens to my boss I have letters on a digital filing cabinet to put out a statement. It’s basically a word document that has red placeholders you fill in, but you name the situation we have a prefilled approved letter/statement. The wife didn’t have a prepared statement in 90 mins. United Health care did and put it out on her behalf. MOO.
This.

My husband is a CEO and the companies PR team has pre-drafted statements exactly like what you’ve described that I had to preview and sign off on in case anything were to happen. These statements were 100% precrafted and sent out on a moment’s notice.

The video upthread explains that the gun has to be cleared after each shot. That's why is has the description of an assassin's gun - an assassin only needs one shot. The gun didn't jam, it has to be reset to fire again.
Thanks Otto.

Do you have an idea that would explain the three unspent rounds? The only thing I can think for this is he had loaded it with 6, fired three, and then ejected the remaining three so it would be unloaded for disassembly and he could take it apart safely while on the move.

I’m assuming at some point I’ll be able to find a thorough analysis of these actions, but wondering what your thoughts are there.

No one I know here in the city feels unsafe because of this. I’m more worried about being killed by a distracted driver.
or while waiting on a subway

It's been reported that the killer arrived at the GWB bus station at 7:30 AM. There are cameras, metal fencing and netting on the GWB to prevent suicide. Assuming it hasn't been erased, by now LE would have scrutinized all camera footage at the station or on the bridge to try to find the killer exiting.

He appears to have an athletic build. What did he do to physically avoid detection?

Curious to know the amount of the monopoly money.
Now all LE needs to do is find a Monopoly game that's missing the money so they can check it for prints. :p

I see they have the backpack in stock on the floors of some Best Buy stores as I type. Two at the Rego Park store this moment. (I have no clue where that is, just using it as a NY example.)

If he flew in from somewhere, he could have accumulated everything in the time he had between arriving in NY and the murder.

I read that the one he used was from 2016-2019 production, though. It could have been bought secondhand, though?

1. If its true he was under investigation for insider trading and other crimes then I place "silencing" at the top of my list by people with much to lose.
2. If he was going to provide evidence of wrongdoing within the Big Pharma, Big Medical, Big Insurance schemes of say the past 4 years I'd again say "silencing". Wouldn't be the first person to mysteriously die while holding allegations against powerful corporations.
3. Family member hired a hit for money.
4. Angry policyholder over a denied claim
5. Like the movie "Fletch"...he hired his own hit so life insurance money would be paid. Only makes sense if he was being investigated for a crime and knew he would end up in prison.
A group looking to make money selling this stock short, needing $$ funds.
Choose a company which U think could take a big quick tumble if you eliminated the CEO. Perhaps targeting this company because of its “insider trading”

The day of any big “announcement” /shareholder meeting is impt in stocks. There’s usually a lot of activity / volume around so selling short wouldn’t be unexpected at this time.
So, if a group of investors were looking to make some $$ in United Health taking a big tumble, they might decide quick & cheap investment/reversal of fortunes is 3 bullets.

Tommy Hilfiger is not considered expensive. In fact, the jacket seems like an odd choice for someone younger with a costly REI jacket and trendy backpack. It was clearly bought as a throwaway imo.
Guessing it was bought at the TJMaxx, a bag from which things were found in in the park.
It’s a brand commonly sold by that store, unlike the other brands he was wearing…

Moore spent 32 years in prison for an attempt on Gerald Ford. Lynette Fromme spent 34 years. They can be called attempted assassins but not the real deal.

Is the coward killer trying to convey to the public that UnitedHealth Group a monopoly, deny, defend, and depose? Taunting LE, which, is similar to what serial killers like to do…
Or is there something more sinister behind his actions?

All moo

Usually large corps like UH hire PR firms to ensure the correct response to the ‘event’ is issued. They can’t afford the time and/or egg-on-face of not having their ducks in a row & having to walk-back inaccurate statements made.

It's called the assassin's gun because it is nearly silent. But he was not a murderer needing only one shot and I think he knew that and planned to shoot several times, yet he used this gun anyway. It must have been that it was the best or most available option,in his opinion, however he came to possess it, for quiet shooting. As opposed to securing a different pistol and silencer/suppresor. MOO
He designed a personal attack, not a snipe. Almost any gun can be a sure shot at 8 feet, especially if you hit the target in the leg first and can walk up close.

I would also add another potential motive: look to see who has the largest short position on UNH stock expiring relatively soon, whose position would pay tens of millions if the stock declined quickly from, let's say, an assassination of the CEO. The monopoly money does remind me of Wall Street Bets.

If you look closely at the middle photo it looks to me like those are fake eyebrows. And also the skin under those eyebrows seems to be rather pale. I am guessing he is wearing a darker down face makeup as well.
To me they look real and the same in every photo, but who knows?
