What emotions do you see in his eyes? (source)

Looking at his photo in the cab makes me think of the Mind in the Eyes test.

Any controversy about the test aside, it shows you a series of photographs of people's eyes and you have to guess the emotions in them. You can take it here. Scroll down about 1/3 to get to the Mind in the Eyes test.

i wonder why he decided to take a cab. you'd think just riding the e bike to the bus station would be doable.

All that being said, the pic with him staring into the camera is truly bonechilling I can't even look at it for too long
If I did not know he had killed a fellow human being, that picture of his would look completely normal to me. Just a person with an intense stare, nothing else, and definitely not scary. I had two classmates (brothers from Shiraz) in my MA cohort years ago with exactly the same type of face.

Thanks. I thought it sounded like a social media thing, riling people up about something unrelated.

It was just a thought. i appreciate this community bc we brainstorm here and provide sources. Was not trying to rile anyone up, nor made anything up.
This was in the news all day Wednesday besides the murder in nyc.

Front and center at the Supreme Court on Wednesday is the battle over the rights of transgender children. At issue is a state law in Tennessee that blocks minors from accessing gender-affirming care in the state.

At first I thought the weapon was a welrod type gun. I now believe it to be just a plain old standard 9mm with some type of silencer affixed. Perp staggered the bullets...1st one fired, 2nd bullet with message unfired cycled out of gun, 3rd round fired, 4th round with message unfired cycled out of gun, etc. Red herring my opinion. Monopoly money...another red herring. Again just my opinion.

Somebody wanted BT dead and our perp was hired to do it. And it has nothing to do with health insurance that is all a ruse. I'm sure it has everything to do with money however.

Maybe he thought it would throw the cops off his trail if they ended up finding it elsewhere

Clearly the cab

Do you think his eyebrows could be dyed? They are very trimmed and very dark

I was thinking that too - filled in thick and dark for the crime and time leading up to it, and afterward washed off back to "normal" sized brows to help disguise him

To change it up in case they were looking for a guy on a bike, especially going to a bus station.

Interesting point - makes me wonder whether he was actually staying at the hostel, or just pretending to.
I tend to think he was since the two other men that shared the room said he didn’t say anything to them and they also saw him at meals. Also CNN reports in their timeline that he left the hostel at 5:30am on the morning of the murder so unless he for some reason was somewhere else overnight/early morning and then came to the hostel just to leave it again I’m thinking he did stay there

Very true. But what if you’re denied that care by your insurance provider?
IMO, you'd still want to be as female-presenting as possible, because that's your gender identity. Maybe they used it as a disguise but it would be somewhat ironic to put aside your identity so that you can punish someone for not allowing you to present as you identify.

Wonder if an Iris Recognition could be done if the resolution could be enhanced.
When I travel, that's how they identify me...I don't have to show ID.

He may have had eye exams? Long shot though finding that info.

Actually this is already used in some countries' airports I think.
In response to the increasing threats of terrorism around the world, NEC contributes to a safe and secure society by enhancing stringency of immigration control. Our iris recognition solution offers improved security and smooth personal identification amidst the increasing movement of people between countries.
  • The iris is photographed, and the image is matched with the government’s immigration control database during exit or entry procedures at the passport control booth, enabling rapid and stringent personal authentication.

I am starting to think they don't catch this guy for awhile. They might find out a name, but he is going to change his appearance, and with being able to wear covid masks, it won't be easy to find him.

I think he just wasn’t concerned about his masked face being captured on surveillance for whatever reason since we know that as soon as he arrived in NYC, he took a cab to the Hilton. I think the decision to take a cab after the murder was likely a practical one — taking a cab would be quicker than biking, walking, or the subway.

Going into the mind of the killer - I wonder if the way he is feeling now aligns with how he imagined he would feel before doing this. He likely envisioned what it would be like, but people are often not good at predicting how they will feel in future scenarios (ie, affective forecasting).

If this was his first murder, his response will likely be extremely different than he imagined. FBI profilers talk about how first-time murderers are unprepared for how they actually feel after committing something they may have planned for and/or fantasized about.
i certainly couldn't predict how i'd feel. i couldn't predict how i'd feel even trying to predict feelings after doing something like this - which it seems might be a good thing :) but the consideration of how this shooter might be feeling is intriguing. i wonder if he's in a freshman category though i'm inclined to think he is.

From the article:
Fugitive arrived Nov 24 but checked into hostel Nov 30.
My previous impression was he had been at the hostel since the night of the 24th; in fact, per prior reporting, he departed the bus to go to the shooting site and then proceeded to the hostel IIRC.

Was the 30th the night he had to check in the second time because he was checked out due to absence? Or were there total of 3-times he was checked in, once the "administrative" check out/in? Or is ABC confusing me?

He looks a little different in every photo...I still say the eyebrows are fake. He could also wear different colored contacts in his eyes.
He does look a little different in each photo. Wonder what his natural face looks like?

Maybe the trip from the Port Authority to the Hilton was a time check so he knew how long it takes to get to the Port Authority after the murder.

I've no doubt they will find him, eventually. And I am also guessing that he will change his appearance somehow. But we saw how well that worked for Scott Peterson. I have faith in LE.

He just seems confident in a big city. I don't see any emotion except the clearly flirting beforehand.

I reaĺly think he's checked out now, did what he had to do and will hide out somewhere where he can see them coming. But he won't fight back now.

Answered myself....searched last thread, he was checked in Nov 30 as "administrative" check out/in per Mr. Denny and CNN: thread 4. Interesting the ABC story used that date alone.
