I agree with you! But what mystifies me is his reckless behavior prior to the crime. He didn't wear gloves at any point nor care that he left DNA on the water bottle or possibly the candy wrappers. He is on camera everywhere and he doesn't give a flying flip.

It wouldn't be out of the realm of possibility that this guy had a perfect escape plan such as travelling to a different state and using a different fake ID to hop a plane out of the country. Would this be why he gave no thought to the biological evidence he was leaving behind?

This is wild speculation on my part.
How important is DNA in finding him? unless he has any prior criminal convictions/arrests no match will show up on the DNA database. The fact he was so casual with regards to DNA means he knows he can’t be traced by DNA as no past arrests

Maybe "borrowed" or bought one for cash when he visited the Douglass Houses (NYCHA project near his hostel)?
I don’t think he visited it, he was pictured walking past it.

He looks more Middle Eastern in the new photos compared to the old ones where I thought he looked Russian. Either way, he is from an area known for deep unrest and strife and criminal organizations.
[Mod Snip off Topic].
He is probably an American. UHC is an American company which operates only in the US, and has no impact outside the US. It is of little interest to people outside the US.

He may have ancestors from the Middle East, but right now nothing points to him coming from anywhere else.

There's a meticulous, intelligent playfulness, sense of humour, and deadly seriousness in everything the shooter has done while trying to get away with murder. Monopoly money in a backpack seems like sarcasm of Depose, Deny, Defend. Searching for the backpack wasted hours of manpower. Maybe the coat in the backpack has DNA that has never been registered in a genealogy database.

It almost seems like the shooter spent a lot of time anticipating every possible outcome, and how to confuse or delay the investigation.
Which rules out, imo, his being paid killer, even part of a team.

Where is Edward X Delaney when we need him. (Lawrence Sanders series.. Classic nyc murders)

I wonder about the monopoly $$. That doesn't seem to be a reference young people would jump to. Maybe from the older relative that died? (Imo)? Sad jokes about needing monopoly money to get into hospital ..becomes part of pay back scheme

Dude looks straight in to the camera, clear as a whistle. Some say a neck tat, I dunno.

What pro killer would do this...not to mention, the entire host of other evidence alleged to have been left behind?

IMHO, the DNA is not important to finding him, the DNA is important to identifying him once he is captured and also important evidence to present to a jury at his trial.

I wonder if this isn't about the insider trading. Perhaps the shooter is a son of a firefirghter that lost everything? It would also explain why BT was singled out. I bet his two "friends" that also were involved are in hiding right now.

The dna could be sent to ancestry/23me to get connection to other family members.

Do we know what name was used on the fake ID? I'm wondering whether it was Tommy something, or even Tommy Hilfiger and he left the top in the bag as a quirky way of confirming for LE that it was his.

Very little auxiliary detail or color has been released about anything, IMO. The reporting across different news sites is incredibly sloppy - I think by now I've seen all the permutations of which words were supposedly on the bullets.

With so little to go on, it's no wonder that these threads are heavy on creative writing attempts.

Thanks. The Douglass houses were mentioned in quite a few timelines and I erroneously assumed they were a stop for him.

Interesting thought. I wondered whether twins were involved. He doesn't quite seem to go in different directions, but he does raise questions.

Where did the bike go?
Left unlocked in Central Park (and just before sunrise too), it won’t have lasted long before getting stolen.

Sorry if this has been brought up before here (I’m struggling to keep up with the lightening-speed threads) but, regarding him entering/leaving the country: Every country I’ve been to recently used a camera at Passport Control, including the U.S.

Does anyone know how likely it is that they’d be asking for that camera footage at airports? I would imagine that it would be practically a Herculean effort to go through it, considering the volume of faces on it, but also, I wonder how long they keep that footage, is a search warrant required to get it, etc. I just never hear of it being used in cases like this.

Anyone have any thoughts?

Oh, I see why some say the killer is female. Is that makeup or just the camera definition?

To you in NYC, or elsewhere: I've only taken UBER in NYC, are the taxi cabs really like this? I mean the ones in my area have barriers but not ones that are on par or identical to police cars.

If I did not know he had killed a fellow human being, that picture of his would look completely normal to me. Just a person with an intense stare, nothing else, and definitely not scary. I had two classmates (brothers from Shiraz) in my MA cohort years ago with exactly the same type of face.
100%. I'm sure if someone captured video of me sitting in a cab I'd have the same look: Checking the meter, making sure the driver is taking the most direct route, thinking about whether I'll have time to make an appointment or the next transport at my destination.

Well, if they know his name, imo it would be quicker to find a passport exit than locate him loose in the states. No need to search video footage. But someone else pointed out that he could have returned to a country which doesn't extradite to the us. Ie has dual citizenship.
That would be a perfect way to throw international political shade on our health care system.

Some men have those darker eyelashes/darker eyelines (like Nestor Carbonell), but even if the killer is wearing makeup, he definitely seems to be a male based on brow ridge/jaw structure/face shape.

Yep, that’s what cabs are like in NYC now, and there’s a tv screen there in the middle of that partition, and you can use it to pay for your ride.

Maybe the trip from the Port Authority to the Hilton was a time check so he knew how long it takes to get to the Port Authority after the murder.
I believed he arrived at the PA at 42nd and left (if he did leave) via the PA at GWB.
