As expected, I found the following information BBM:

"The use of the allegedly defective AI model, developed by NaviHealth and called "nH Predict,"

"The nH Predict model was developed by NaviHealth Inc, a Tennessee company acquired by UnitedHealth in 2020 for $2.5 billion, the lawsuit states."

"UnitedHealth Group has been deploying AI and ML applications at-scale for more than a decade. Currently, these efforts are focused on reducing administrative burdens and ensuring health care workers can focus on tasks they are uniquely qualified for."

"Coverage decisions are ultimately "based on CMS coverage criteria and the terms of the member's plan," Albright said, adding that the lawsuit "has no merit."

"Aaron Albright, a spokesperson for NaviHealth told CBS MoneyWatch that the AI-powered tool is not used to make coverage determinations but as "a guide to help [UnitedHealth] inform providers ... about what sort of assistance and care the patient may need."

"The plaintiffs are the families of Gene B. Lokken and Dale Henry Tetzloff, both now-deceased patients who were covered by a Medicare Advantage Plan policy provided by UnitedHealthcare. from at least November 2019 to 2023."

There may have been other things I wanted to point out but BT became CEO in 2021, a lot of the problems they are referring to were problems prior to him becoming CEO. They are actually problems that have always been around in the healthcare industry and are not specifically due to anything related to BT personally. The anger regarding the coverage decisions may as well be more about the CMS coverage criteria and terms of the member's plan. There are criteria involved in those determinations that are beyond UHC's control in the matter. I can't speak to details related to those particular lawsuits but when you are dealing with someone who is on Medicare and have a supplemental policy, the terms of that coverage is spelled out before any of the patient's experience these medical emergencies/situations. In all accounts of what I read in the articles, the AI tool is not "denying" claims/coverage.. it is being used for other functions related to the entire process. The named tool, was developed by NaviHealth, not BT... so again, I see people incorrectly stating online that he himself developed this horrible AI program TO DENY claims...which is completely false.

I completely understand the frustrations people experience with their medical insurance. I truly do, but it is NOT due to any one person, it is the entire healthcare industry practices of all involved that culminate into this horrendous problem. You have member s who defraud the insurance companies, you have physicians/facilites who are defrauding the insurance companies as well as the members, you have insurance policies which are set up based on state or federal laws ... The issue is much bigger than the CEO of one organization. Again, the anger directed at this man personally is insane to me and this shooter either hated him personally for some reason or wrongly views him as the entire face of UHC or the US Healthcare system.
Just looked them up... change name to Home and Community Care they are OWNED by UHC.

Would LE be running tests on the bullet markings to see if this gun had been used in other crimes? How much would a silencer affect those markings? TIA.

I can assure you that thousands of people have come forward to identify him. The problem is that LE has not been able to ID him from the thousands of tips.
I’m seeing people dressing like him on social media as a spoof because people are saying they look so much like the guy. I guess there are a lot of people with those features. I actually know one.

Incorrect. One can get from the GW Bridge bus terminal to the A train (177th street entrance for the 175th street station) via escalator or stairs. Theoretically the shooter could've done that, and then headed either north or south on the subway.
that i didn't know; original post edited

I assume so. They are private cabs that hotels or you personally arrange to take you places. A step up from taxis and Ubers, a step below private drivers.
I hate cabs (don’t shame me) and Uber stinks in NYC (for me), so I always use black cars, you just tell the doorman when you want a car and it’s there.

Always a black suv.
Seems like you just answered your own question of why the shooter didn’t take a private car like you are used to. He wasn’t stepping out of a fancy hotel, he was coming out of the park after ditching a backpack and a bike. He also wouldn’t have had time to call a private car/private taxi on a phone, or may not have wanted to engage his phone for such a request.

Question: people are arguing elsewhere that the jacket in the hostel shot is not the same at all as in other shots- missing pocket I guess? What’s the consensus here?

I have always felt he used the bathroom to change into a different set of clothes, very possibly womens clothing or even women’s islamic head dress and hopped on a bus, given so many on here have questioned if the suspect is a woman he would likely get away with it
The problem with women's dress for me is that LE pegs him at 6'1", no?

Just because police saw perp going into Port Authority bus terminal and not exiting does not mean that perp got on a BUS!!!!!! I think this information is very misleading! The A,C,E subway lines run under the Port Authority Bus Terminal. I think the more likely scenario is that he hopped on the subway and got out of midtown quickly. From there, he could have easily traveled anywhere in the city or points in NJ via the PATH train, or Queens, etc. I am not buying the theory that he hopped on a bus going to another state. ALL JMO
I agree with your premise that the perp's only way out of the PA is to leave the state or take a bus; just want to clarify that they saw him going into the Port Authority GWB terminal (not the 42/8 terminal), and only the A is there.

Do you have a link to her quotes to the news? I have only seen a man who was sitting in a car at the curb speaking directly to the news (Witness gives his account of the UnitedHealthcare CEO shooting | Fox News Video)
I’ve only seen reporting that describes their interaction as “flirting”. I’ve not seen direct quotes or anything even paraphrased. I’m particularly interested in this aspect of the story, and IMO, she has been instructed not to give any interviews to the media.

I can assure you that thousands of people have come forward to identify him. The problem is that LE has not been able to definitively ID him from the thousands of tips.
I think what the previous poster was trying to say is that no one has been definitively able to identify him. Do you think someone from your extended network would be able to definitively identify you if similar photos of you came out? Not a personal question so just a question to ask ourselves. I think each of us is unique in that someone in our extended social network will be able to definitively identify us from some pictures. That has not happened for this guy. No coworker, college friend, professor, guy he had beers with long ago or shot hoops with has come forward. Why is that? Are his features really that generic?

BT was not even the big chief, he was CEO of one of the group companies, if there was revenge involved over denied insurance claim surely someone searching for someone to take revenge against would do a bit of googling and shoot BT’s boss the group CEO

I think the motive is much closer to home and nothing to do with his corporate life

Ok so I might be massively out of date but I am in the UK and at the end of 2006, me and my partner went to his father in Nee Zealand. We went the “wrong way” round and went via US, for cost reasons. The only American soil I have trod on was LA airport where we changed planes and had a 5 hour wait. We had to pass through American passport and customs though and had retina scans and fingerprints. All was normal it would seem as everyone was going it. Assumed that for a while at least, US authorities have that information about me.

So far all the people saying this is someone from abroad, do you now have no security checks like that when foreigners enter your airport?

I do find the logic that he looks foreign to be quite funny given then you are all from somewhere else originally, you are a nation of largely immigrants it’s just degrees of time so you will look like every nation on earth combined?
We've had open boarders for years without retina, passport, visa or Covid checks. That's all reserved for people that arrive here legally. It's currently ongoing. I still feel like this killer is American and familiar with the NY/NJ area.

I can. This was not a "working" meeting, where everyone would be firing up their laptops. This was a schmoozing/relationship-building meeting. That's what these things are for.
Yes I totally agree. This wasn’t really a meeting at all, it’s more like an Apple Keynote address. Big stage, lofty presentations and nicely designed slide decks. Perhaps some breakaway meetings occur but it’s mostly a large presentation on a big stage with some important dinners that would follow.

This is why it’s only one day too. It’s not a series of meetings of workshops, it’s one big event. The attendees aren’t really participants.

you thinking a different target would be better is not evidence of anything. BT was the CEO of a very hated health insurance company. killing him is obviously symbolic and gets a strong message across. it all aligns with an ideological motive.

It’s called a “car service”
Yes.

On the occasions that I can’t use my car to get somewhere, (mainly to JFK) and no one is available to give me a ride, I will take a car service. They take cash but I use them because an Uber here costs twice as much.

Car services used to be ubiquitous and what we all took when we were teenagers, but of course there are fewer now due to ride shares.

I think a black car is more a concierge service at a hotel? I don’t know since I live here and haven’t stayed at a NYC hotel, maybe ever, I can’t recall. Oh, in Queens on my wedding night to catch our flight in the morning. That’s it.

I’ve also rarely needed a yellow cab, but I know they put in that safety barrier to protect the drivers.

JME

The photos are not great so not sure many of us could be recognized. But if I’d gunned down a stranger on the streets of NY, my friends and family might be willing to disclose my identity to LE but I seriously doubt they’d be crowing on social media that they recognize the killer. After all, I’m sneaky and brilliant, have a gun and know where they live.

ETA: It looks like someone may have already been pointing this out a few posts up

It appears he has a backpack on under the jacket in this side photo. This would support speculation of dressing and shedding in layers.IMO

From that link:

"Former Washington, D.C., homicide detective Ted Williams said the Monopoly money in the backpack is the "killer playing games with the authorities. All part of a cat and mouse game."

"This killer knew they would more likely than not find the backpack, and he is leaving breadcrumbs to let [the] authorities know that he is in control, not them," he said."

Thanks for this. I wonder whether they have a specific reason to be looking there or whether they're just combing it in the same way they combed other parts of CP? I can imagine it's extremely painstaking work trying to locate something small underwater with no visibility.
Someone mentioned an ebike can be disassembled and he could have scattered the parts hither and yon including in that pool of water
