Possible but why not turn up on his driveway in Minnesota at 7am, shoot him when he is leaving for work and escape on a motorcycle, far less cameras, traffic, I think a grudge over a denied claim is unlikelycloser to him. IMO.
I think that MN is alien to this person- he may actually not have a car or drive one though he has a fake license. I think he is an urban person and he waited for BK to be closer to him. IMO.

this article is just another rehash of mayor adams speaking out of turn. doesn't mean anything
It does mean something because Reuters has added a correction.

At this point, if there is no breakthrough in the next couple of days, people are going to move on. LE will lose the momentum of public interest. LE and the FBI will of course continue their investigation behind the scenes but I suspect with no new major news, public interest in this case will quickly dissipate. Already on this board, it is mostly the same old theories being rehashed because we don’t have much new material to dissect and discuss.

I've thought this from the beginning.

BT was in a very difficult situation wit the charges for insider trading. His world was under serious threat possibly with loss of a job, income, possible upcoming trial, legal expenses, etc.

He was also seen talking on a cell phone as he walked down the street just prior to shooting BT. It's kind of hard to dismiss that information as irrelevant.
BETTYP...aka "super sleuth" & one of the most "spot on thinkers" I follow, btw. Thank you for bolstering my thought...BrianT didn't volunteer to go to investor meeting, he as told to attend??? HE DID NOT HAVE A SECURITY DETAIL. For all intents and purposes, BrianT was an industry "bean counter." We ( in my line of work) always say, "Never turn on the accountant, they always know where all the skeletons are buried." This is almost like the set up in (first 20 pages) of every Grisham I ever read. Hey, none of us can miss the fact LE discovered "MonopolyMoney" ...the killer must have studied BrianT, knew he was an accountant and the fake money was a final slur on his profession.
Chief of Detectives Joseph Kenny said investigators were looking at Thompson’s social media accounts and interviewing employees and family members.
“Didn’t seem like he had any issues at all,” Kenny said. “He did not have a security detail.”
"The University of Iowa graduate began his career as a certified public accountant at PwC and had little name recognition beyond the health care industry. Even to investors who own its stock, the parent company’s face belonged to CEO Andrew Witty, a knighted British triathlete who has testified before Congress."
PS...Just my feelings based on what we have heard, watched & read so far.

Metal of Honor - Rising Sun on PS2 used a Welrod like this one, if I recall. He could be a gamer of some sort.
I’m sure he’s a gamer because of his age. They all do it. My big regret is I can’t get further than Angry Birds because I started too late.

They have DNA from his phone, and other items as well. They likely also have it from his hostel room.
has LE stated that or does it just seem logical?

I think that it might be better for police and FBI if it does not have as much attention. I think that they will be able to piece it together. It will just take a while. Somebody will reveal something at some point. I also think that lots of people have called in to identify the guy. I know that I would recognize him from the hostel photo where he is unmasked.

JMO.

If he has gone out of the US, what happens next if they identify him?

Does that Hilton have doormen that work 24 hours? The main entrance doors may stay locked and have set hours that they are open. JMO
I thought someone upthread said the side door didn't open until 8am.

BT was not even the big chief, he was CEO of one of the group companies, if there was revenge involved over denied insurance claim surely someone searching for someone to take revenge against would do a bit of googling and shoot BT’s boss the group CEO

I think the motive is much closer to home and nothing to do with his corporate life
This isn’t really true. There are multiple CEOs of many divisions at UHC. BT was THE CEO of UHC. Prior to that, he held the title of CEO Medicare/Medicaid and government programs. Those CEOs report to the CEO of UHC.

BT reported to the CEO of the parent company, UHG. UHG is a big conglomerate and pretty much everything they acquire is supposed to work in tandem with UHC. UHC is the butter. The CEO of UHC is not a middleman position. He was a big cheese and his job title had many implications. He was just not in the public like some other CEOs that the public is widely familiar with (Bezos, Musk, Cook). This is more a product of being healthcare insurance. Is the general public really engaged in executives from those companies? No. It’s not a consumer product like these other tech companies. The CEO of something like UHC is actively encouraged to not engage with that kind of status. It doesn’t mean that this position is highly visible to shareholders.

I feel like that is how most cases are. The Idaho murders, two weeks in people were thinking they wouldn't have an arrest for years if then.

Yes.

On the occasions that I can’t use my car to get somewhere, (mainly to JFK) and no one is available to give me a ride, I will take a car service. They take cash but I use them because an Uber here costs twice as much.

Car services used to be ubiquitous and what we all took when we were teenagers, but of course there are fewer now due to ride shares.

I think a black car is more a concierge service at a hotel? I don’t know since I live here and haven’t stayed at a NYC hotel, maybe ever, I can’t recall. Oh, in Queens on my wedding night to catch our flight in the morning. That’s it.

I’ve also rarely needed a yellow cab, but I know they put in that safety barrier to protect the drivers.

JME
Your mention of taking a car service as a teen gave me a teenage flashback, so I had to check: 777-7777 is still in business!

If it's a country with an extradition treaty with the US, then they will move on that. If there's no such treaty, then nothing. I don't think he fled the country though.

Well sources close to law enforcement have told the media that. We have various reports mentioning water bottle, phone and bullets. His bag would almost certainly contain DNA evidence too, along with his room.

DNA test results could be mere days away in evidence connected to the shooter who gunned down UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson, The Post has learned.

The DNA samples being processed were taken from a water bottle believed to have been dropped by the masked gunman as he fled from shooting Thompson outside the Hilton hotel in Midtown, as well as bullets from the scene, sources said.

A Starbucks coffee cup that the shooter potentially used is also being processed for DNA evidence, according to sources.

I thought someone upthread said the side door didn't open until 8am.
That was my recollection from the beginning of the thread. Will see if I can find it.
