Does LE know he was in Central Park because the cameras follow him there and then out, or are they going off some type of GPS data?

Since it was stated by the roommates that he never took his mask off, he probably didn't shave anyway. The bathrooms were communal. Besides, he had other preoccupations.
We haven't heard from anyone who shared the hostel room with him. More then likely over 10 days he came into contact with dozens of people at the hostel I would think. Even if he completely kept to himself you'd think that someone would have come forward to say they had seen him there. Interesting.

I can't quote directly from the first thread, now closed, but in post #750 of thread #1, @Boodles said:

"He was only walking by the side door to get to the front entrance of the Hilton. The side doors remain locked until 8am. The route from his hotel took him directly down 54th St to get to the front entrance."
Thank you!!

This was before Covid, but I was interviewing in the city and one of the first things my soon-to-be-boss and I bonded over was that neither of us liked to be bonded with a long coat in winter when we were already wearing a suit. Just too many layers and annoying when you're just going a short way.
A person from MN is not thinking "coat" when it is around 30F and it is not snowing IMO.

I think his brows and eyelashes are his own. How many women jokingly complain that some men have longer, thicker eyelashes than women. I think this guy is just like J D Vance who was blessed with thick or double rows of eyelashes like Elizabeth Taylor. Since testosterone plays a role in physical characteristics like hair growth it's not that unusual. Depending on his ethnicity or heredity he may be doubly blessed. JMO
Does that mean he has a full beard by now (not a fake one) and therefore can’t be recognized? He could also have had a beard previously and shaved it off specifically for this murder. LE should circulate a pic of how he might look with a beard. Even J D Vance looks so different in the pics without his beard.

I feel like that is how most cases are. The Idaho murders, two weeks in people were thinking they wouldn't have an arrest for years if then.
Speaking of the Idaho murders....this suspect has bushy eyebrows like Kohberger does.

At this point, if there is no breakthrough in the next couple of days, people are going to move on. LE will lose the momentum of public interest. LE and the FBI will of course continue their investigation behind the scenes but I suspect with no new major news, public interest in this case will quickly dissipate. Already on this board, it is mostly the same old theories being rehashed because we don’t have much new material to dissect and discuss.
If they have some DNA and/or prints but no match, the case could hibernate until the shooter's DNA or prints come up elsewhere.

Oh they've talked to detectives. That's how we know the roommates said he didn't speak and kept his mask on. The only persons who talked to the press were the Danish man, and another fellow who stayed at the hostel.

I'm still strongly in the "this was an ideological-driven, theatrical murder" camp.. but I do find it interesting that a manifesto of some sort hasn't been found and/or released. This guy, from the taunting hints to the brazenness of the attacks, strikes me as a narcissist who believes he has the moral high ground. I'm surprised we haven't seen anything released from him online.
I'm convinced there's a manifesto out there somewhere, we just haven't seen it yet.

It's still in the mail. USPS is kind of slow.

A narcissist that has the moral high ground? Most of the world believes that good healthcare should be accessible and privatized insurance providers are greedy. His actions were extreme but far from a narcissist.

Social media is writing it. There are a few versions.

Joking, but not joking.

I’m not so sure about this. The killer left that backpack of Monopoly money behind, likely knowing it would be found quickly. If such a manifesto existed, based on what seems like meticulous planning from the shooting to the getaway, IMO the killer would’ve wanted it to be found and broadcast to the world sooner rather than later, and would have ensured it could be.

Are they sure that all these photos are of the same person? They all look different to me.
Different backpacks.
First one when his face is covered is light color gray on both straps. The next image with his face covered is a black strap over his shoulder.
Is it possible he had a bag planted somewhere he switched and picked up with more resources/disguises?

I can. This was not a "working" meeting, where everyone would be firing up their laptops. This was a schmoozing/relationship-building meeting. That's what these things are for.
If he was giving a talk it was probably already loaded into a teleprompter.

Maybe they have and have been moderated out...

My mother (77 years old, true crime lover, and following this case from the EU) had this theory when I spoke to her yesterday over the phone. She thinks he comes from a culture where elders are considered ''sacred'', the pillar of a family, and he has gone unhinged due to not well processed grief because his grandma or grandpa passed away due to having their claim denied. She thinks this act of revenge is a sort of ''an eye for an eye, your death for the death of my loved one''. Just my mum's opinion.

She could very well be correct.

BETTYP...aka "super sleuth" & one of the most "spot on thinkers" I follow, btw. Thank you for bolstering my thought...BrianT didn't volunteer to go to investor meeting, he as told to attend??? HE DID NOT HAVE A SECURITY DETAIL. For all intents and purposes, BrianT was an industry "bean counter." We ( in my line of work) always say, "Never turn on the accountant, they always know where all the skeletons are buried." This is almost like the set up in (first 20 pages) of every Grisham I ever read. Hey, none of us can miss the fact LE discovered "MonopolyMoney" ...the killer must have studied BrianT, knew he was an accountant and the fake money was a final slur on his profession.
Chief of Detectives Joseph Kenny said investigators were looking at Thompson’s social media accounts and interviewing employees and family members.
“Didn’t seem like he had any issues at all,” Kenny said. “He did not have a security detail.”
"The University of Iowa graduate began his career as a certified public accountant at PwC and had little name recognition beyond the health care industry. Even to investors who own its stock, the parent company’s face belonged to CEO Andrew Witty, a knighted British triathlete who has testified before Congress."
PS...Just my feelings based on what we have heard, watched & read so far.

There's a motive.

Someone upthread mentioned he could have not gotten on a bus as all but made it seem like he did but instead walked the George Washington Bridge into New Jersey. Maybe head to Newark International Airport? It would really take you no time. People can go very unnoticed in NYC and NJ (i live in nyc). The NYPD are stationed so heavily in the subways and even then people still go unnoticed so heavily could have avoided the subway or not. Just thinking out loud sorry if this doesn’t make any sense!! MOO
Wondering if it's known, did he make a call or receive a call?
