HUGE: Live on CNN

Working off of a tip, police stopped someone traveling by bus. Recovered suppressor and fake ID's. Person fit the description of the photos of the suspect.
It sounds like the person was stopped while still on the bus -- Altoona is just under 15 hours by bus from NYC (roughly 4.5 hours by car), so if this is the suspect (which is certainly seems like it is) he likely spent a few days 'lying low' somewhere after leaving the city before resuming his journey. MOO.

If this is him he's dumber than dumb to be still traveling on a bus and carrying those items. SMH
my thoughts exactly, now was not the time to still be taking buses.

I think it could be as simple as he got off the bike, left it just sitting there on the sidewalk, and someone stole it.
True but still… I don’t see them throwing in the towel and not trying to find it / track down who stole it. It’s essentially the getaway vehicle… also a rather significant part of him being able to commit the crime and make the getaway he did. I’d imagine the police not wanting to give up possible forensic evidence and physical evidence connecting him to the crime. I guess I just assumed given the exact disposal location of the bike… it wouldn’t be as hard to track down through the number of surveillance cameras in the area.

WOW I bet they wanted him to think they weren't as close as they were, so they could catch him WITH the gun

Great news, hopefully the story comes into sharper focus now.

Altoona is only 4.5 hours by car from the last place he was seen (GWB bus station). Where has he been hiding the past few days? Wonder if he had some help.

Interesting re Altoona:
"The top field of employment in Altoona and the metro area is the healthcare industry."

I’ve been saying for a while, people were giving him way too much credit.

Some super villain genius, foreign hired assassin, who intentionally left DNA because he was so far ahead of police it didn’t matter.

Nope.

It was always really simple.

I can’t wait to learn the full details.

Was he trying to hide the e-bike? If so, why? If not, why hasn't LE found it yet? An e-bike is not something one can hide under a rock, so the question is - what else has LE missed?
Thank you! My thoughts exactly.

PA didn't have any stops on the bus route, but who knows how convoluted his travel path was. Or maybe he doesn't even live in PA but is visiting someone
jmo
Once he got across the GWB to the Jersey side, he could have gone to any number of places before he hopped a bus to PA.

I think that was from the Eric Adams interview reported by NY Post and Reuters. I haven't seen it repeated in MSM yet.
It's still being rehashed. The Guardian ran a piece today built only around the Adams quote from Saturday.

More details:

A person of interest was nabbed Monday in the fatal shooting of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompsonbusted possibly trying to use a fake ID in a McDonald’s, law-enforcement sources said.

The man — who sources said is being eyed for the coldblooded, targeted execution in front of a Manhattan hotel last week — allegedly had a manifesto on him when he was taken into custody by cops in Altoona, Pa.

He also had a gun, silencer, four fake IDs and other items “consistent” with what authorities were looking for in the case, sources said.

Law enforcement were still trying to figure out the man’s real identity, sources said.

He was nabbed on a tip called into local cops, who then apprehended him, sources said.

If a person in Altoona is the same guy who shot BT, it doesn't make sense to me that he was still carrying the gun 5 days after.

Unless,
1. the person they got is decoy and they tipped him to confuse the investigation.
2. The guy is not as clever as everyone thought or he didn't care if he got caught. Or both.

It has not been confirmed that this is the actual shooter so don't get too excited yet

Is there a legal rule preventing it?
that's a good question -- possibly? the FBI does have money specifically to use for rewards so maybe there is a legality to it?

An ID at McDonalds??? That's odd.
