It’s possible, but it’s also possible he was rattled and just took off. This looks more like a panicked move to me.Sounds like he was off to hit another CEO after lying low for a few days.

OMG at the ASSUMPTIONS some posters are making!!!
Just a reminder, but what has been released is likely a very small amount of info that LE has. Just because UHC or the family has not offered a reward does not necessarily mean anything, LE could have told them NOT TO OFFER.
Just hoping they have this guy in the crosshairs and arrest is coming soon so all this can stop!
Surprised I have not read a theory that the wife and the shooter are lovers and he killed BT for her!
Spent too much money on backpacks and jackets. Why the heck didn't he pay cash for a burger at McDonalds ? Makes no sense.
Local PD got a tip. So he wasn’t traced there, somebody dropped a dime. Love it.Police could have approached him while he was at McDonald's and casually asked him if he had his ID on and if they could see it
only one i can think of that basically was is Israel Keyes. He put in the hard work to actually be smarterCriminals always think they are smarter than the police, but they rarely if ever are. MOO
Hmm. Who hangs out at McDonalds long enough for police to come? Maybe, of course, but JMO, perp wouldn't hang anywhere for long knowing his face was all over the Internet. The sources say it is too soon to determine if his case is connected to the death of Brian Thompson, but they are investigating it as a potentially significant development.
According to the sources, customers at a local McDonald's thought he looked suspicious and called police. Arriving officers noticed a fake ID so took him in for questioning.

Manhunt in CEO killing leads to McDonald's arrest: What we know about person of interest
A man in the Altoona, Pennsylvania, area is being questioned Monday in connection with last week's UnitedHealthcare CEO killing in Manhattan, according to two sources familiar with the matter.www.nbcnewyork.com
Do you have a link or not?It categorically wasn't a B&T. They don't operate like that. It was a regular semi-automatic 9mm pistol.
Have law enforcement said that it was one of those guns? If they have then they are wrong.
From the very brief reading on them I've done, B&T Station-Six 9 is not the correct designation anyway. It's B&T VP9 (for Veterinary Pistol). The Station six is the same gun but chambered in 45ACP. The figure six coming from it's magazine capacity.
Lets not forget that initial reports, even from LE or respected media outlets are very often wrong, especially about firearms - most of the media still refer to cartridges as "bullets"! The rifle found in the book depository when JFK was shot was identified as a Mannlicher-Carcano. No such rifle has ever existed!
I’m shocked that he still has the weapon and everything else on him. Maybe he just didn’t care about being caught after the fact. Crazy! On the national news, he is in custody, has the weapon.
His benefactor/protector/family member kicked him out maybe. Washed his hands of him, identifying who he was and the risks, so he had to become transient? If a person in Altoona is the same guy who shot BT, it doesn't make sense to me that he was still carrying the gun 5 days after.
Unless,
1. the person they got is decoy and they tipped him to confuse the investigation.
2. The guy is not as clever as everyone thought or he didn't care if he got caught. Or both.
I agree! I wonder if he tried to change his appearance. If he was smart, he would have plucked his eyebrows to reshape them and dyed his hair and eyebrows a lighter color after his photo was released. He should have dropped the mask and hooded appearance too. With all of the planning he did, you would have thought he would have a plan in place for changing his appearance afterwards including one fake ID with the altered appearance. We'll find out more soon!If this is him he's dumber than dumb to be still traveling on a bus and carrying those items. SMH
I hope he also sent the manifesto to someone who will publish it.This ID is a silly thing to get hung up on. He was caught with the gun, multiple fake ID’s and a manifesto.
Specifically how he was caught will come out soon.
Why was he using and ID in McDonalds?!
They are saying how rare the gun is but not getting specific. Either way, he is/was not a genius in his choice. It will be interesting to find out whether he had a B&T pistol, or a common semiautomatic with a suppressor.
Altoona seems reasonably small enough that police could have arrived pretty quickly. Quarter pounders with cheese are made fresh now, so may have been his fatal folly.Hmm.
