Did they say who turned him in? Did I miss it?

The Daily Mail article said an elderly patron at McDonald's - I'm not sure where the employee being the one to turn him in came from.

Luigi Mangione named as suspect in Brian Thompson shooting

"..The newspaper said a 911 call was made from the cafe at around 9.15am on Monday.

The 911 caller who potentially identified the gunman at the Altoona McDonald's was an 'elderly patron' according to an anonymous law enforcement official.."

Bet his parents are really proud of him.

bet his parents recognized his face... and said nothing. Bet cha!
I am sure they did and his family, good friends, they did. They might of been trying to communicate with him, sick and despairing, but of course wanting him to turn himself in, safely, as they love him. Imagine having to wrap your mind and emotions and anger as well around this knowledge. I really cannot imagine at all that no one did turn in his name and living address to LE, but we would not be privy to details like that.

I have not sleuthed his parents but I will not be surprised to read that he will have high dollar legal representation. His trial is going to be huge and it's going to shine light on corporate America in ways they aren't going to like.

I would like to know why it was Brian Thompson that paid the ultimate price? When did Brian become his target? I have so many more questions.
Yes, as many have said, his plans probably included
him being caught and now "shining the light" on corporate America in his trial.

said employee at nypd press conference
sure it was "someone at Mcdonalds" originally and just morphed into that
either way glad it was a citizen who made the call

Likes on his fb page include The Italian Club and Armenian Students Association at Penn, so maybe that's the family mix? I remember some writing about Middle East facial features.
On no! Don't tell me he's Armenian! (With a name like Luigi, I kinda don't think he is...) Fingers crossed.

ETA: His middle name is Nicholas. (Kinda common Armenian name...we will see)

Given the degree of damage to his spine shown in the x-ray on his X profile ( x.com ), he might have been, almost certainly was in, really bad pain. Probably all the time. Indeed, to me it looks like he needs more surgery.

So he might have felt his life was already ruined and he could not get healthcare or maybe had to accept only certain job offers that allowed him to WFH.

Pain can make people do really crazy things. And it causes a shutdown in ordinary rational thinking.

Just a guess.
Some fall into depression, get addicted to pain meds... he was really getting around NYC though (especially on that bike)

Health Care, Expensive? Ditto, His Education?
Tidbits from John Miller on CNN:
Manifesto:....
Talks about problems with health industry. Why most expensive healthcare but rated number 42 in life expectancy.
sbm @MassGuy Thx for your post. Is this the right Luigi?

Gilman High school valedictorian in 2016, w plans for degree in Art.Int.?!?*

Health care may be expensive, but what about preK-12 education? 2024-2025 $,** but likely was pricey for whatever yrs he was enrolled.

Pre-Kindergarten $21,235
Kindergarten $26,175
Prep-One through Fifth $34,365
Sixth through Eighth $35,400
Ninth through Twelfth $37,690

Not loose coins from under the couch cushions.
For what? Coming to this murder?

"Luigi Mangione, who was valedictorian of Gilman’s graduating class this year, based the speech he delivered at graduation around a similar theme: maintaining tradition while also pioneering innovations..... his favorite class in high school was biology (though his favorite changed from year to year), and he plans to pursue a dual degree in artificial intelligence at University of Pennsylvania. The track includes a degree in computer science and cognitive science, and though Mangione thinks his path may change, he is sure he will be studying engineering in some capacity."
