I couldnt do it, watch people get turned away. I feel bad for the healthcare workers, who had no control over who got turned away, seeing people needing help and not being able to do anything. The unfairness of it all, it would be a tough job to manage long term and not be affected by it.

There's no way I could work for the insurance companies either, too cold-hearted of a business.
Too bad we don't have laws to keep the companies from becoming corrupt.
The ones we do rarely curtail unethical behavior.

Just focusing on this part of the manifesto:

..."I state plainly, that I wasn't working with anyone. This was fairly trivial: some elementary social engineering, basic CAD, a lot of patience."

So he's saying that his plot was fairly easy, despite it looking complex.

Social Engineering: He influenced or manipulated people to gain information, perhaps persuading someone to share certain details about BT's movements.

Basic CAD: (Computer-Aided Design):

Likely referring to the 3D printing of the gun and silencer.

A Lot of Patience: This one speaks for itself.

Do we have evidence that he has complained about his back pain with respect to shooting BT?

We actually still don’t have verified information on his motives other than disliking corporate America and considering people like BT parasites.

I think we are extrapolating the back injury into the murder when I don’t think that connection has been clearly made at present - happy to be shown evidence I’ve missed by the way! These threads move fast.

The face of evil into his hearing…there’s the angry MF entitled and not willing to co operate. No remorse. MOO
If you read his Reddit posts about his back - he claimed to be pain free after his surgery. Said he was off all meds within 8 days and was other posters with his similar condition to go for the spinal surgery. Sounds like this was more of a mental rather than physical condition. I read his mom reported him missing on Nov. 18th.

Fighting extradition actually gives NY more time to build their case
That's what I was thinking! If you waive extraction, doesn't that start the clock for the prosecution? So by fighting it, he's giving NY more time. I think I have the right, but correct me if I don't.

Is it just a delay tactic or is there some other reason he wouldn't want to be extradited to New York?
A commentator on CNN said it could be a tactical ploy to avoid being held in NY at Rikers, which is a “controversial” facility.

Luigi Mangione's college hobby was 3D printing, making 'much more innocent things,' former pal reveals

By Jack Morphet and Emily Crane

Luigi Mangione's hobby while studying at the University of Pennsylvania was 3D printing, his former pal told The Post.

"It's funny, I recall him being into 3D printing in sophomore year," said Matthew Levy, who lived next door to Mangione's dorm room in their freshman year.

"I mean, he was making much more innocent things then."

Cops have said Mangione allegedly used what appeared to be a 3D-printed ghost gun in UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson's slaying in New York City last week.

There's a delay tactic in play, but he would obviously prefer to be closer to his family in Pennsylvania than further away in New York.
and I bet he wants to be closer to his attorney who is from Altoona.

Yes, I had thought that about Rikers, too.

He should be held in jail like other pre-trial detainees, but that's another issue altogether!

He'll be a target wherever he goes because of coming from a wealthy family.

49 million are insured through UHC. Awful that the assassination happened, but it has brought to the forefront outrageous insurance denials and problems within UHC, a private insurance company. Minnesota medical Health Partners this past summer was refusing to use them solely because of high denials to Medicare Advantage retirees - somehow worked things out.
I hadn't paid any attention to private insurance, non-private insurance, Medicare Advantage, UHC until this happened.
Msm is going off the rails with anger towards medical insurane/health care.
This was a eye opener for me.

Likely looked at maps and plotted his movements thanks to information available online.

Could the CAD also be referring to the 3D gun/design/printing if that does turn out to be the case?

He is unhinged, and has been for a long time. I'm left-handed. Tables are set with the fork on the left, the knife and spoon on the right. If he came from a "wealthy" family, he would know that. If he wanted to make a pathetic childhood complaint, it would be that his mother made him eat soup with the spoon in his right hand.

He's complaining for the sake of portraying himself as a victim ... complaining that aiming his non-dominant hand at his mouth was traumatic.

"The suspected killer of UnitedHealthCare CEO Luigi Mangione claimed his mother made him eat steak with his right hand even though he is left-handed.

Mangione made the claims in his review of the book The Four-Hour Workweek by Tim Ferris, as reported by the Wall Street Journal."

His mother has beautiful legs and seems able to wear heels so maybe her neuropathy is not so bad now. What a lovely looking family.

Setting it up now. CNN will cover it

How so? ETA: Never mind, I googled. According to Wikipedia "Rikers Island has had a reputation for violence, physical and mental abuse and neglect of its inmates..."

That is no excuse for a cold-blooded murder.

Life is hard. Sometimes things happen that you feel are unfair. This happens to everyone.
Of course not! I’m just saying they will have a hard time finding jurors who don’t have some kind of negative experience with the health care system. It will be tough work to parse out who will be sympathetic to LM vs who can separate their biases.

I think that attorney may be from Altoona simply because he is currently in Altoona. So maybe the family simply hired this guy to handle this process, and he’ll have another one to deal with his murder charged once he gets to NY.

Regardless, there’s lots of reasons why he’d want to delay things.

From what I’ve heard, the downtown facility where Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell were held isn’t exactly a country club, either. But yeah, Rikers has a rep for sure!

The social engineering part is most intriguing to me; interested to see what comes out about that and how direct or indirect it was.

YES. Lol, that didn’t occur to me. That’s got to be what he’s referring to, as it’s too clunky to fit with basic online research.

*Edited that post because it’s a much more plausible answer.
