Well, now the folks will come out of the woodwork claiming that toolmark and ballistics forensics are actually a junk science and there’s still no “real” evidence he’s connected to the shooting.
Educators didn’t cause this.

Agree. Interesting idea. His behavior suggests that he wanted to be caught, but I don't think that's the case. I think you're right that he might have wanted to be identified but not captured, and to be a "hero" on the run. But since he didn't disguise himself, left fingerprints, kept the gun and carried a manifesto, it's very puzzling as to what his plans were once he left NYC.

I wonder if Brian Thompson's death reflected reality to him.?
Most -- if not all of us -- don't wish pain or illness on anyone !
And yes Luigi M. seems sadly disordered in his mind.
The severity of such can indeed be exaggerated, though. Imo.
This is about Luigi Mangione only, and I'm not referring to anyone else with this condition.
If he needs further treatment, there are programs in prison for him and most likely he will have access to meds he needs.
Maybe not a 'super villain' given the mistakes he made, but a plain, idiotic villain ?

LM -- afaik -- did not even know him personally.
A gunshot wound (my coworker suffered and accidental injury years ago) hurts enormously, and it's not like some movies or reenactments, where you instantly close your eyes and drift away painlessly.
The bullets are basically punching holes in the victim, and they slowly bleed out unless medical emt's can get to them in time.
Brian died a painful, agonizing death.
My condolences to his wife and two children.
This is going to be a terrible holiday coming up for them.
A terrible way to lose your loved one.

Am not trivialising pain and discomfort but LM ran across the road to shoot BT, ran into an alley to board an ebike, carried an ebike battery which is pretty heavy, in his backpack, his back problems can’t have been that bad that they are an excuse to commit cold blooded murderMost -- if not all of us -- don't wish pain or illness on anyone !

The article states that he told police it was May 6, 1998 after lying initially.
I'm sure it is on his arrest record but I can't find that.
