I just finished watching an old episode of Forensic Files that I had not seen before - it gave me chills with all the similarities, and I was wondering if maybe it was a case that BK studied earlier in his criminology courses, and modeled some of his “planning” on? It’s the Eric Copple case from...
Thank you for sharing this link MadHettie! While I for one do believe that BK is guilty due to the totality of evidence, this article is very eye-opening (and a little bit scary!). I didn’t realize that DNA testing had become SO sensitive that innocent people could be convicted by simple...
No 1&2&3 - so sorry, you misunderstood me - I DO see what looks like a truck there! :-) I said you had a very good eye to catch that! But after looking at the moving video several times, I said I thought it was just the shadows and lights from the leafy trees. It really does look like a truck...
This story just tears at my heart. I can't help but think of my own mom who loved to play bridge. Mrs. D sounds like such a wonderful, sharp, sweet, kind lady. Sounds like she was getting pretty frail too, which makes all of this even more heinous and despicable. I can't even begin to imagine...
According to the public records on the Putnam County Tax Commisioners site, the last time a tax payment was made by the D's on a boat was 12/14/11. The assessment was $87 for a boat with a fair market value of $12,610.
So they had to have sold the boat sometime in 2012...
WSB news at 6:00 just had an interview with one of the FBI investigators - he made a statement that caught my ear - something along the lines that they had evidence that confirms this was very "personal"
Will try to find a video link and post later...
Welcome to WS Lakeoconee - my condolences to you and your friends on this terrible loss - not least of which is the loss of privacy and innocence surrounding such an idyllic place... I have some family on Oconee so I know how upset everyone is - I hope that they solve it soon.

In the same video, there's more info about the location of SD's remains. If you use your noggin, and then compare where an interview was filmed to an overview on google earth, I believe you can find almost the exact spot where the...
Here's the video link again where this came from - the still shot is pulled from around the 1:30 mark. I see what you mean about what may be a truck in the still, but looking at the video several times again, I'm not sure if it's just an aberration of the shadows. You have a good eye to have...
So is anyone else also thinking that maybe now she wasn't killed until later? Since no one found her sooner? God I hope not, I just can't believe someone would do that to this poor elderly woman. I'm praying that she went the same time as her husband, and maybe they just didn't place her body...
I know that we've probably already hashed this into the ground, but I couldn't stop thinking about this aspect of the case last night - I think it's a very important clue as to whether or not SD was placed in a way to be found, or placed to stay underwater and hopefully never be located... jmo...
Carolinapeach, do you still have a link to this video? All of the ones I find now seem to link back to just one report that doesn't have the section with the reporter (I think it was Richard Elliot) showing video of the trees and stumps sticking up out of the water - I think he even said it was...
Thanks Carolinapeach - I really like what the Baldwin county sheriff had to say about Sills - just confirms and sums up what my impressions of him have been lately - I think he will solve this!
Lol - I think this happens because the reporters are reading here, and THEY are ones using our ideas for their list of insistent questions at the next news conference!
I don't think the area where SD was found would have necessarily been "searched" at all - don't forget we're talking about a big lake of over 19,000 acres with 376 MILES of shoreline. They probably did some flyovers of the lake by helicopter, but concentrated their searching to the area around...
Don't know why they thought this, but the D's did have a homestead exemption... easily verified on the public record of Putnam Co. tax assessor:
