Random question, does anyone know if BK is confirmed to be right or left handed? I noticed in the thumbs up pic he’s using his left hand giving the signal but assume since it’s a selfie he’s holding the phone likely with dominant hand, his right?
He could be ambidextrous I suppose. In my experience, ambidextrous people I’ve known usually favor one hand over the other.

Anyhoo, I was just thinking about it as to how his handedness might come into play when knife wounds/slashes to the victims’ are described in more detail at trial by the ME and/or wound expert with r/t can they tell from the wounds/slashes on the victims’ if the perp is likely right or left handed.

I just can’t recall over 2 years following the case if BK being right/left handed has ever been confirmed/discussed.

Didn’t he drive by the house sometime about nine something in the morning…do I have this wrong?

If so, guess he thought he was in the clear after not seeing police there yet if this photo was taken @ 10:31 am.

The Amazon knife is the most unsurprising thing ever.

If I'm stretching out my arm to capture more than one person, I use my dominant hand. If it's just a normal selfie....I use my non-dominant hand so my dominant hand/arm/shoulder remain in place while framed.

I'm not ambidextrous.

Anecdotal, of course.

So we are supposed to believe that it was his mom or dad who had the impeccable bad luck to just happen to buy a K bar, knife, sheath, and sharpener months before the murders and then after the murders was once again looking for K bar knife, sheaths. Guess Mom and Dad wanted his and hers knives?

IMHO, to me that means BK was thinking he might do this again. I don’t want to hear about how he needed to replace his knife so that he has a defensive weapon when he’s jogging in the wild woods of Pullman.
As I've been saying for months now , March 30th was the purchase date and the first week in April was the delivery date.

And whoever gave testimony at the Grand Jury hearings that led to the tip, IMO, lived with him (Mom, Dad, Sister etc). And IMO either had access to his account, a receipt...something. So your joke (about Mom and Dad) is probably not that far off from what we'll probably hear at trial.

Yeah, such a very specific symptom that can be used to explain why his shower curtain was missing when he went home for break.

Can't wait to hear how he couldn't have possibly murdered 4 people because of contamination issues.

1) I don't think he intended to kill 4 people when he went in
2) people with OCD are often able to overcome/deal with one of their obsessions/compulsions if they have another obsession/compulsion or desire/need that is stronger in the moment. They then just end up needing to over perform their soothing ritual that is their coping strategy for the obsession that they just had to cope with. I have two older teen/young adult children who have had OCD their entire lives, so I've seen this in action and even seen it with some of the same OCD issues AT is saying BK has.

oversimplified example of this: person with OCD has issues around contamination (for example, in regards to urine). Their phone falls in the unflushed toilet. Now, when my kids were younger, they would not have been able to get the phone out if there was no one home to help them. But by the time they were early teens, they valued their phones so much that they would grab dishwashing gloves or a pair of kitchen tongs and use that to retrieve their phones. And then they'd likely spend the next 20 minutes washing their hands after throwing away the gloves and then consult me or the internet on how to decontaminate their phone once it had dried out.

There are indeed some people with such crippling levels of contamination OCD that they would not be able to retrieve the phone if there was no one else there to help them. But people with that level of OCD about a specific thing would be noticeable to their friends and acquaintances.

Not to mention, by the time you are BK's age you have usually gained enough coping strategies from therapy that you can deal with the issue in the moment or not have as severe of an aversion (such as my young adult who had a major contamination issue regarding the dishwasher now having that issue reduced enough that he unload it when needed...he just did this five minutes ago and then went and washed his hands).

3) Contamination issues don't usually encompass ALL substances considered to be icky. When my kids had urine contamination issues, they didn't freak out if they hurt themselves and were bleeding. The dishwasher aversion kid can work 🤬🤬🤬 a dog walker and pick up doggy doo. It varies per person, but the definition of what is contaminating is specific to the person and is generally not all encompassing.

*sigh* If the defense team want to make these broad generalizations then they better be prepared to back it up with therapy/doctor records from his childhood/teenage time/young adult time that document the specific details and timing of his OCD symptoms....and had better be able to show that an OCD issue that was severe and present at a younger age was still that severe and unable to reduced using CBT and/or exposure therapy. I want to see records showing psych meds that help OCD.

A broad label diagnosis isn't irrefutable proof against a specific situation and time in a person's life, nor can symptoms and severity be assumed to be static.

Let's remember that as a teen, BK had a job cleaning fish. He said he worked there 7 months, boss says 3 weeks. But nothing was said about any revulsion to fish blood, guts, scales, etc. I just learned this also. Worked at Costco in the meat and produce departments.

Kohberger's career as a fish cutter

I am sure I am probably imagining, but his thumb looks to me like it may have faint blood stain on it. Almost as if the thumbs up isn't enough of a pat on the back for completing his handiwork, it appears to me that he perhaps wanted a visual reminder for himself, that would probably go unnoticed by others. I am probably overreacting. JMO

My mind didn’t go to blood, but instead a mark from the guard on the handle of the Kabar. Perhaps some friction on his inner thumb, even if wearing thick gloves. Moo.

I definitely think there was intent behind this photo (beyond the typical reasons you take selfies). Whether it was a visual reminder or a "look its after the murders and I look physically fine and totally unhurt, future police".

Or both

Sidenote: remember back when "selfie" was a ridiculous word? Now it just rolls off the tongue.

Also: Raynaud’s phenomenon. Adrenaline starving body tissue of blood, meaning you get white knuckles.

His hands are bright white.

Holy Moly. He's toast. Confirmed that he bought a k bar. Fantastic. And that photo. So... no white shower curtain at the time of WA apartment search warrant. He must have thought to get rid of it at some point, just in case. I wonder if he did it that evening or later when the cops announced the white Elantra vehicle of interest.

The thumbs up?? In the bathroom?? A self congratulatory job well done it seems to me. All showered and clean, not a trace on him. ( My guess at his mind set in that moment). Wow. He is toast.

ETA, and at 10.30am that morning he knows from his little brief visit to Moscow at 9am and from the lack of news that the murders haven't been discovered yet. Yep, moo, in his mind he's gotta be thinking, wow 'after my panicked get away and driving the long way home, I'm in the clear. Thumbs up my man. Well done.'

He is a charcoaled piece of toast. Incredible. Jmo

I think that is pink shower tile.. moo
Look again, a light colored curtain pulled to the far right side. You can see that it stops about 1-1/2" short of the shower curtain rod. And if you look closely, it looks like it has "fold marks" in it, like when you just take it out of the package where it was folded.

Seems such a bizarre photo. To me, maybe the sort of thing someone who has no clue how average people conduct themselves might do to make it look as if they're going about a normal day.

Except nobody takes a thumbs up selfie in the bathroom with ear buds in... do they? For what possible reason?

Maybe he was posting it to a social media page... like a group support page or addiction recovery thing, you know 'day 145 sober and off to church' positive message.

Or taking it for himself... after scrubbing up... task completed?

Despite his evil grin and thumb up, he does not look well at all, in that selfie. His eyes look dark, as if he hasn't slept in days, and he is as pasty white as can be. I wonder if he had been out, ummm, stargazing, the previous night as well as the night of the murders? Wouldn't that be something to learn of? And try as his attorneys may, any juror who looks at that picture will know what busy eyebrows are, whether they are called that or not JMO

Imo your last sentence. Task completed as per my post. I doubt for social media. Jmo

ETA, yep, it's bizarre alright but only without the context.

TYVM @MassGuy
Trying to catch up, haven't read all posts since this ^.
Excusez-moi if this horse has aready been beaten and is arriving in ambulance DoA. ; )

In pic, his hair is mostly dark, almost black, & wet, like he just got out of shower.
But those red, frizzy roots?!
Or is it my tablet's settings that make the root color look so strrraaange?

Plus other aspects of the pic. Shirt collar too big, etc. imo

Delusional. It is. Like he thinks he completed his mission. Like he's a Marine after a successful exercise.

Disturbing.

Agree, very disturbing... but jmo a window into his mind set. The last straw as far as his defense is concerned.

Maybe he bleached his hair and put a dye over it? it looks a bit like slight regrowth.
Possibly the pic has changed, maybe that was a printed out version then photographed or something.

Also he possibly has a red mark on his lip, possibly scuffs on his neck, as well as a very swollen hand with bruising and a red mark between thumb and first finger.

I really really hope he's not been part of some dark evil criminal cult. After some of the cases I've followed recently, nothing would surprise me any more.
