It is not clothing, but I really wonder if the airpods BK had in when he took that infamous selfie after the murders, night have been a trophy, that belonged to Xana. We know that she was on TikTok right up until 4:12 am, and may have been using them, as others had already gone to bed. I have seen nothing in any search warrant stating that a pair was seized though, so if they were hers, it seems that he may have disposed of or buried them, along with the knife and clothing. Maybe the pic was meant to be his remembrance of them and the murders, anytime that he wanted to revisit them, in his mind. JMO

I think the airpods were his own. Only because on the list of items seized from him-not sure if apartment or family home-they took a firestick. Well, I'm not into gadgets at all, but Mr Muffin and I have 3 firesticks, 3 Alexas and we each have airpods. He's into that stuff, at 80! (All our lights and whatnots are controlled by Alexa.) So Bryan no doubt is into this stuff as well. (And there's a photo of him as a teen using earphones.)

Anyway, as far as what he does in jail, we know he sees the pastor/priest every Sunday.

I'm thinking he reads a lot, but I doubt they give prisoners crime stories. Poor Brybrows.

Thinking about how, when he's exonerated, he's going to get back at everyone who wronged him.

He was into running and kickboxing, but now he looks kind of emaciated so I don't know if he's exercising.

He's into cleaning bathrooms per AT, so he has plenty of time to make his cell sparkle.

But one thing I'm happy about, he has to be bored out of his mind. In an article I posted a few days ago, it stated that he texted his friend, Casey Arntz, asking how she was doing in college. It ends with him telling her life was dull because he was in rehab. Thus guy needs stimulation and I think he's not getting much of it in jail in isolation. So although I hope he gets the DP, LWOP would be OK. Here's the quote:

Mostly I believe he sits there thinking up stuff to torture his attorney with. Meaningless crap that she has to persue on his behalf.

After listening to the podcast and reading that article I realize clearly how off BK is.

This guy IMO just didn't fit in anywhere but instead of becoming a recluse he got needier and angrier. After highschool everything escalated when he had to live in the real world where he was a total misfit.

I'm wondering now if he was radicalized by cramming his brain with online , manosphere, incel, serial killer philosophies. I knew all of this but something new clicked in my head.

The Internet has a lot of influence on young people and it is scary.

BK’s situation is really so sad. My history has included knowing dozens of young adults who as students exhibited learning differences, levels of spectrum disorder, and/or social challenges, all with emotional overlay. Thankfully most had lots of intervention and mentoring and what our school called “social autopsies” to give them practice and language to negotiate the “grownup,” “real” world. This involved helping them match their interests and aptitudes to a career and comfortable social groups where they did have a sense of value and belonging.

At risk young people have the potential to be happy, contributing members of society. OMO.

I would think he has access to the library, if there is one at the jail, and I assume that his attorneys can bring him law books so that he can theoretically or otherwise participate in his own defense?

Just to be clear, I don’t have sympathy for BK — he has wherewithall to know right from wrong and he made horrible choices. My point was: such a waste of a life — he had greater potential. OMO.

the problem with bringing his spectrum diagnosis into the trial is the door it opens. many killers suffer from a variety of disorders, phobias, brain anomalies, psychiatric problems and philias (sic).
I think Bryan had a whole lot of help, sympathy, special treatment etc. He made it through rehab supposedly.

yes it's sad that his intelligent young man did this and his life is wasted, but I don't think any amount of coddling could have prevented it.

also we can't arrest someone for their thoughts. we can't know those thoughts and head off a killer at the pass based on these issues. ;( mOO

I listened to The Terrible Night on King Road and I have a couple of questions.

1) 4 charges for murder and 1 charge of burglary. I didn't know about the burglary charge. Did he take something and if he did does LE have it or find it in his apartment or somewhere? A trophy?

2) After going back to PA, BK starts acting strange and his father gets suspicious. Dateline also states that his sister also gets suspicious and tells the father. Which sister? Could they be witnesses?

3) I'm pretty sure the witness list is sealed? Do we know any of the witnesses?

It was felony burglary. There was no force entry according to LE. The Felony burglary charge is due to entering the house to commit a felony crime.

Just throwing this out there, all MOO:
I think he had more than one house as a target, more than one "batch" of students, and King Rd was the first.
I think he was getting another knife so as to continue onto his next target. I think, in fact, that he's got one hidden away, maybe acash buy from some store out of his usual realm.
I do not think he thinks much at all. He's mentally tamped down. He reminds me of Chris Watts, only with even less emotion.
I think he's been messed up and not thinking straight since very, very early in his life.
I think he thought he would easily get away with Kings Road and all future heinous crimes.
I think university study was his way of "killing" time and letting him devote energy to his wicked plans.

Wondering how many Ka-bars with that particular sheath might have been shipped nearby. How common are they? I feel the Ka-bar is a huge piece of evidence that makes BK seem the most likely perp, but I wonder if the defense will come up with a large number of Ka-bars with that sheath having been ordered nearby? I had never heard of it before these terrible killings.

I wonder if LE tried to get that information but with little success (all kbar purchases in what time frame within what circle?). Not likely they circled Pullman AND went back to April, but even then, it was a Pennsylvania purchase!

I think someone in BK's household alerted LE to a specific purchase point, hence a second, more precise warrant.

That is incredible. If BK was into that it explains his hatred of women and of Ethan who to me seems a man that women would like. May be why he was "carved".

I am astounded that there is a whole glossary of terms. The hatred for women is overwhelming. It makes men in the manosphere seem like women haters and reduces relationships to very dog like behavior.

I have zero sympathy for him because of this horrific crime that IMO, he planned and committed. Many, many young adults go through his issues, or worse, and they are not accused of murdering 4 wonderful college students or treat others badly as we have read about. He has zero empathy, so I have nothing but total disgust for his existence. I agree with you about the confession. He is loving torturing the victim’s families, friends and the surviving roommates. IMHO

The Facebook page was setup to receive tips about the case with a private investigator that the Goncalves family had hired. But the private investigator had asked that the Goncalves family stop posting photos of the free things that people were sending them. So the PI locked the Goncalves family out of the Facebook page. The G Family threaten the PI with legal action if she didn't turn over control back to the Goncalves family,, so like a day later she did and that PI and the Goncalves Family went their separate ways and this was back in 2023. IMO. that.

Maybe, I remember reports early on that LE was visiting local establishments that sold Ka Bars. That might even be how word first got out as to the particular weapon. It’s the sum of all of the evidence-BK purchasing the knife and sheath, which was not found in his apartment, parents’ house, or car. He considered buying another on Amazon. He was out driving an Elantra with his phone turned off. His DNA on the sheath.
