If you burglarize a house, you usually do it when no one is there. This is asking for a confrontation, as the valuable items are going to be in those bedrooms.
If confronted, he runs or stabs the confronter. No reason to linger and go room to room stabbing sleeping people to death.
I mean, everything points away from that for me.
It’s the absolute worst time to commit a burglary, and the perfect time to commit a mass murder.
We don't know what he did or if people were trying to confront him or stop him moving about freely. I guess we'll never know.
Re burglarizing a house, I agree that this would be a high risk house to enter - lots of occupants and probably not much of value except the new vehicle parked out front (was he looking for the keys to take the vehicle?) but surely people usually enter homes in the dark and small hours when everyone is asleep? So the time of day would be right?
