Thank you for this....So, that last link suggests he didn't even need to get new plates yet...until April 2023. Am I interpreting that correctly? I guess I better read it. LOL My bad.

Is the Affidavit in the 2nd link the PCA? When I read through the 2nd links, I did not come to any affidavit to suggested this is a fact. JMO

Edited to inquire about 2nd link.

IMO
If you click below and scroll down to Kohberger, you'll find most court docs related to the case listed in chronological order. It's a long list but the arrest affidavit is right at the top,!

ETA. The affidavit referred to in the link is the arrest affidavit.

The article for the 2nd link says "It's not clear why the title was changed. An affidavit unsealed Thursday states that his Pennsylvania plates were set to expire on Nov. 30." Seems like a dumb thing to say. If the plates were expiring at the end of Nov and WA does technically require cars to be registered there within 90 days of moving to the state, what choice did BK have?

Just wanted to let you know, you linked to car rego requirements in Western Australia ( WA, Aust) not Washington State ( WA, US )!

Thank you for that. Do college students really register their cars in the new state within 90 days? That is more of a rhetorical question, rather than a question specifically for you. I mean, do students in WA, coming from Oregon really pay to register their cars in WA...especially when they plan to return to Oregon? Gosh, I know people that have moved to another state and continue to register their cars in their original state for years because of costs.

I suppose he could have got a ticket....but in a college town. Hmmmm

I was an in-state college student so I had no idea they expected them to do that.

LOL....I responded and didn't even see the Australia reference either.

I guess I need more coffee (or those donuts that others have mentioned).

His birthday is Nov 21

An affidavit unsealed Thursday states that his Pennsylvania plates were set to expire on Nov. 30.

According to a public records request filed by KTVB, Kohberger, 28, applied to transfer the title of the Elantra from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, which was issued on April 20, 2022, to Whitman County, Washington, on Nov. 18, 2022. It was then issued Dec. 5, 2022. Records show the vehicle was also registered.

As long as it is done in the month you were born in it’s fine. Michigan.

Here in WA Australia, you just pay a transfer fee ( not much), rego is then transferred to WA from for eg. NSW or Vic. Might be different in the US of course!

I only noticed it because I'm from there, lol.

Was that AT's response? (I am being lazy)

I am not following what his birthday has anything to do with license plate registration. Driver's license - yes. Plate registration is annually (at least in WA) based on when the car was purchased. Was his PA plate expiring at the end of November? IMO, if it was NOT expiring, that could also be circumstantial evidence (consciousness of guilt).

IMO.

In MI we have to put our new plate sticker registrations on during the month of our birthday. After 10 years we have to buy new plates. We only have back plates. I thought BK’s birthday was in November so this is why he added a front plate.

I think Murphy may have been crated.
That's very interesting, I thought that Kristi said that the crate was in Kaylee's car with some of her other stuff in a previous interview. Mmm... IMO.

She did. November 19th interview.

Where is this from, and what year was it written? It makes absolutely no sense that touch DNA is good enough to exclude someone, yet not good enough to incriminate someone.
SBMFF
wikipedia
Touch DNA analysis only requires seven or eight cells from the outermost layer of human skin.[3] The technique has been criticized for high rates of false positives due to contamination—for example, fingerprint brushes used by crime scene investigators can transfer trace amounts of skin cells from one surface to another, leading to inaccurate results.[4][5] Because of the risk of false positives, it is more often used by the defense to help exclude a suspect rather than the prosecution.[6]

WAC 308-99-040 states:
"May a vehicle properly licensed or registered in another jurisdiction be operated in Washington without further registration requirements? Yes, as provided in RCW 46.85.060 and 46.85.080 the following conditions and restrictions apply:
(1) Nonresident students: The student must be in full-time attendance at a college or university in Washington accredited by the Northwest Association of Schools and Colleges or at a private vocational school as that term is defined by RCW 28C.10.020(7) and maintain their legal home of record at a location outside the state of Washington. Vehicles must be registered in the student's or in the name of their parent or legal guardian in the resident state of record. The student must carry documentation issued by the college, university or vocational school that readily establishes the nonresident status. Employment incidental to the full-time student status is permitted."

Yeah, that was a goof. Sorry. Apparently new residents only have 30 days in WA State. https://www.eastsideautolicensing.c...o Washington State, your vehicle in this state.

I'm sure a number of "college students" don't change their car registrations & may qualify for an exemption per your later post. Grad students are often more like real residents though. And if BKs tags expired at the end of Nov 2022, it still seems he needed to do what he did especially if he felt he was no longer a resident of PA.

His Pennsylvania plate was set to expire on November 30, 2022. Last paragraph here:

IMO, this is just a coincidence and not evidence of anything.

Ok, that's 13 years old. It's come a very, very long way since then.

No one was using a fingerprint brush on that sheath, and your other post discusses touch DNA being merely present at the scene. We all know that's dubious stuff, especially in a college house.

This was on an item the killer absolutely touched, so none of this stuff applies to this situation.

Of course the defense would have us believe that random DNA that was found was relevant, so your posts do help show why they're wrong.

There are no coincidences in homicides.

He's merely lucky that it appears that way.
