CANADA Canada - Jack, 4 & Lilly Sullivan, 6, Vulnerable, wandered from home 10am, Gairloch Rd, Landsdowne Station, Pictou County, NS, 2 May 2025 #3

The backpack stands out to me as well. DM stated how bright it was and easy to see..but would likely be all brown by now.

Plus it's another thing they wouldn't have to say, especially if it is a school bag. Why not just say the kids and boots were missing?

Moo
Agreed. I had theorized that Martell was expecting the police to find the backpack. Maybe it is near one of the provincial borders

I figured it had to be missing for some reason (blood?) or was thinking it was planted to make it look like the kids were somewhere.

Maybe they did find it and aren't saying for some reason?

All the comments about the children chatting to anyone and would happily go off with a stranger were said for a purpose as were the remarks about abduction and wanting an amber alert.

It’s definitely possible that they have found these things in the context of their criminal investigation so that would lead them to not reporting it.

Not to mention only one kid was reportedly sick. IMO not a coincidence it is the one they claim they saw that morning.
Jack is pre-kindergarten. At this level they don’t go to school everyday. Someone correct me if I am wrong.

I think there is no doubt BOTH of them concocted a story to blatantly admit their negligence in parenting, ensuring the details correlated.

So the question becomes WHY would they give such a suspicious account because surely they were smart enough to realize their explanation would attract blame upon themselves. IMO that’s the puzzling mystery.
I guess it's easier to be branded a neglectful parent rather than something else.

Just wondering if the parents were hoping the abduction scenario would be the police's main investigation and then the parents could set up a donation page to help search for them.
It’s an interesting point about the donation being set up. It’s rare now for anyone to have a public incident and a family friend or family member not set up a fundraiser. No sign of that here from what I’ve seen though. Might not mean anything. Might spotlight the dysfunction behind the scenes.

https://www.oise.utoronto.ca/home/s...across-canadian-provinces-and-territories.pdf Generally when the children are bussed/bused they attend a full day. Some go to school three days a week while others go every day.
thank you - from your link:

ETA So if I am reading it rightly preK happens full day every day for children who reach age 4 by December 31st. It appears it is not compulsory though, so parents decide to send or not send it seems.

I think it’s because it was a school day and the backpack is a personal item of importance [for a student]. I’m wondering if it should have been there (cough/sick) and then *they* discovered it missing so it became part of the narrative.

As soon as I heard those.. Red Flags!!!

More Red flags:

Asked why he thinks the pair may have been abducted, Martell said, "I have no idea why (anyone) would want to take them, but they're easy to take. If they would have wandered to the road, they would get in any car as long as you offered them food or water, or even candy or anything like that — or even to see mom and dad, they would immediately get in."

Also, In one of Plunder and Deception Detectives videos Daniel mentions that the searchers have looked everywhere, under every root etc and they have to be somewhere else.
(like look somewhere else not here)

Mentioning they could be abducted by offering them food or water is kind of strange too.
