CANADA Canada - Jack, 4 & Lilly Sullivan, 6, Vulnerable, wandered from home 10am, Gairloch Rd, Landsdowne Station, Pictou County, NS, 2 May 2025 #3

This is the search map handout provided by the RCMP and published, on May 7, by The Chronicle Herald (RCMP scaling back search for missing Pictou County children). IPP (initial planning point) is last seen location -- the family home, and CP is the command post. The outermost green circumference is 2.5 kilometers from the house.

It seems that search efforts were more heavily weighted to the west/southwest/northwest of the home.

(In the early days, I pondered whether the children might have walked along the pipeline corridor, about 1.2 kms west of the property. The pipeline starts near the bottom left (southwest) on the map -- straight pink line/thin green stripe-- running northeasterly under the red squiggles/yellow area at top center . Obviously it's been gone over with a fine-tooth comb.)

correct me if I am wrong but I believe they are “across the road” . I think he mentioned them in the context of saying the kids don’t go across the road and then followed up by saying there was some cabins they had built and that’s where, usually, as far as we take them - or something like that.

It was reported it was his childhood home. However, I too found some contradicting info about the property. There is a lot of unreliable info related to properties online, it’s hard to source the real answer. Where did you find the 2024 date?

Also, from Two Nova Scotia children are missing. Here’s a timeline of key events since the siblings vanished
Lilly and Jack, along with their mother Malehya Brooks-Murray and baby sister Meadow, moved to the community two years ago, into the childhood home of Daniel Martell, who describes himself as the missing children’s stepfather.
That said, this sentence is fairly hot garbage because Meadow wasn't even born two years ago. But this says the kids and parents moved into that place two years ago.

The scanner talks about Lilly and Jack last being seen at 8am, with the 911 call coming in about 10am and both parents saying they hadn't seen Jack at all.

I can't think of anything to make their story work, especially when you add in the fact that no evidence was found other a couple of spots that may or may not have been boot prints that may or may not have been from that morning.

Moo

I actually think that may be the case, or the ownership was changed in family. I have checked a number of different accessible databases and they all show as last "sale" being 21/07/24 but whilst the value of the property is shown, the sale price is consistently listed as 0

Also looking at Google maps - the last streetview photo was taken 6 years ago and the property doesn't seem to have changed too much

Find it deeply unbelievable that these doors in this clunky, unkempt trailer were opening noiselessly. Seriously, this case gives me a hedache. On one hand DM seems to really care about these kids and their vanishing (if he is pretending hand him the Academy Award), on the other, the stories about how the kids went missing, from both parents, sound very, very iffy. The noiseless door, the kids closing them carefully behind themselves, none of the parents getting up to actually check what the kids were doing in the kitchen... That's just... No.

Add to it the fact nothing was found, no backpack, no boots and kids lose the wellies super easily... And the doubts are growing.
All of this.🙌

Whilst I was relooking for that info I came across an article with something I hadn't seen before

"They searched every rock, every root. Everything," said Martell. "I've been giving them every detail, everything from my bank account statements to all the information that came off my Google maps."

He always words everything like he's the hero, but its not like he'd have much of a choice. They're going to get all that info one way or another.

What is bothering me is how quickly MBM decided that they were abducted (requested amber alert) rather than assuming that they'd wandered off. Did she have a reason to believe this I wonder?
The original story they both gave was the sliding glass door was silent, they must have gone out back and were playing in the backyard and then went out the back fence.

That was the first statement that came out.

Then they both started talking about abduction, how the kids will talk to and go with anyone, mom talking about amber alert, stepdad talking about closing borders and checking airports.

But with all of that they mixed in messages of the kids being cold, wet, and dirty, checking culverts etc as if they had wandered off.

And neither one of them sent a message in case their abducted children were watching or made a plea for their safe return.

I’m not sure that’s an either/or situation. If someone’s child is missing, they want all situations fully explored. Requesting an alert doesn’t mean, in my opinion, that they have concluded the children didn’t wander away.

BBM. MOO (and I'm not sure if I'm even leaning this way in this case), but children could ingest medication/illegal drugs if they're left within reach and there's not enough adult supervision.
There are SO MANY hazards young children can encounter when not supervised. Medicines, supplements, spices, soaps or cleaning liquids that look like juice drinks, cooking appliances, mixing and blending and food processing appliances, heavy and sharp blades of knives and other tools, portable heaters, and the dangerous mixing of electrical appliances and water.

When I was young, I had a friend who at 5 years of age climbed atop the stove in her nightgown to get a cereal box kept in the cabinet above the stove and her nightgown caught fire from a burner that had been left on or that she had accidentally turned on while climbing up there. Her screams brought immediate help, but not before much damage was done. The skin on both her legs was heavily scarred from the grafting and she was lucky to have survived.

I think of my friend whenever I am deciding what to keep in a cabinet above a stove.

Of course it can happen. But it is infinitely easier to just slam the normal, swinging door on your way out, than close an old sliding door.

In this particular case we have two kids with habit of not closing that door, as claimed by DM and a door that, according to the mother, was not making any noise (or not enough noise to be heard in the bedroom) while being closed. Looking at overall condition of that camper it is hard to believe that.
As claimed by DM. Idk, to me I'm hearing coordination between the two accounts by the mother and the step-father. It just seems odd to me. Now a big split between the two. What is going on?

There was no national/federal/stat holiday on that Wednesday. It was a PD (professional development) day. School was out for students, but teachers still went in. Not every school in the country had one that day.
Has anyone seen a MSM source for which day DM was working the week the children disappeared?

The only thing I can come up with is if they did have a gathering the night before and woke up to missing kids, but it would be infinitely better to fess up to that than whatever it is they're doing.

If there was any sort of threat to the family, such as an ex, they would have checked that immediately.

Not always. Not saying that this applies to this case, but forgetting to double-bolt the front door and not realizing your child was strong enough to open the lower lock is different from choosing to leave both locks open so your child can freely go from the house to the backyard.
Well to me considering a bolted door totally secure would not be negligence...maybe foolhardy at best, considering the nature of children and how quickly they can learn to do things. I was speaking more to the negligence of not getting up and out off bed to attend to young children when you know/hear they're up and about or could be. That's a conscious and active choice. MO

Back in comment 984, I said "MOO I believe the parents are responsible for what happened to poor Jack and Lilly; I haven't made up my mind if this was active or passive/negligent." Sadly, to put a finer point on it, I don't believe the Friday morning story from either of them is true because I believe whatever happened to the children didn't happen on Friday morning. MOO. I don't believe that if MBM was "drifting in and out of sleep" as she described it, that during one of her awake moments she wouldn't have gotten up to check on a sick child or a child who spent the night in pull-ups (or at least told DM to get up and check. It may not have been a conscious and active choice if her sleep was due to something she'd consumed the night before. IMO.
