According to the mother she last saw Jack the night before (Thurs). Did the description of brown clothes for Jack come from the step father or the mother? How did the mother make the determination that Jack would not go to school on Fri, if she did not see him to assess him that morning? Was Jack sick the night before he went missing?
Can you point me in the direction of the description of the brown clothes? I must've missed that.

You don't have to believe any of it. I was only reiterating what's been released to the public.
You said "Jack wasn't seen" which was released to the public.

And "I don't find any of that odd, no"

I've mentioned this before, but it keeps getting lost in the gazillion posts. I haven't seen it verified either. It was a Friday morning, so it's possible she was working. LE haven't mentioned she was there, so I suspect she wasn't there. They haven't made any statements such as "his mother says they didn't come over to see her that morning" or "she heard her son calling the kids and came outside to help look for them."

I'm curious to know if the family has any evening or morning routines that involve his mother. They may not, but it would add to the timeline if they do.
Not sure if anyone has replied as I am catching up. Mother is stay-at-home. Wednesday was a national holiday/pd day, so the kids were home from school. She called Lilly in sick with a cough so kept her (and Jack, presumably) home Thursday. No mention if she had called the kids in sick on the Friday before the 911 call was made. jmo

We can go back and forth on what these parents should have done (and I know I've indulged in this quite a bit in this forum so, no shade to anyone doing this) but I don't believe it'll be productive, clue-wise. The fact is, a good portion of kids are just not properly cared for by basic welfare standards; that's the sad reality. Maybe this is a typical weekend routine for them.
What I have been dying to know is whether they often let themselves out to play. The mom does go out of her way in the interview to say they're not allowed to do that and they're *always* supervised outside, so this suggests not. If not, then why assume this is what happened?

Correct. As a mother of 7 and some of them very close in age, there were times in the mornings the older children tended to the younger children while I was busy with a baby. It didn't happen every day or even all that often, but it did happen and with big families it's pretty common. So from my perspective, no, it's not odd.

I think the OP was responding to an inquiry about DM's mother who is said to live on the property. We haven't been told anything in the press about DM's mother or whether she was present on the property when Jack and Lily went missing.

Especially if the door was closed when DM said he always had to remind them to close it.

Other than a missing backpack and boots I don't know why they're so certain they went out the sliding door and the back fence.

I've seen you mention before that Wednesday was a national holiday in Canada. I live here and I was unaware of that. Can you clarify what holiday you're referring to?

I know there are many instances in which children have made it pretty far, but Bessie was on the flat prairie in western Kansas, not a rugged terrain like the Sullivan children were in.
otoh Bessie walked 11 miles in winter! It was cold, very cold for a little girl without even a coat on. There may have been snow on the ground... All sorts of difficulties for a 2.5 yo. Apparently she crossed a creek. (if you google her name, you'll find info on her last walk and death e.g. at Find-a-Grave). So point remains: children do manage incredible feats nobody would think them capable of.

Did Jack and Lilly manage a long walk in their immediate area? I don't know. But it can't be ruled out on terrain alone. MOO

ETA: Corrected name of website to Find a Grave.

Thanks. Do you recall if he said it during an on-screen interview? Or quoted in an article? That will help me look.
I only ever saw in an article, which was posted in the last thread so you might be able to search that way.

There is something on the dispatch about the kids missing since 8am, but the call was placed around 10am. That timing makes more sense to me. I am thinking the stepdad looked for the kids first and then the 911 call was made.

Somewhere in the jumble of information I recall reading MBM made the 911 call while DM was out searching.

I will need to go read about young Bessie. Did she leave any clues behind as to the direction she went? Because in this case we have double the children and zero sign of them.

RSBM

My guess would be, because they were gone and she couldn't find them. So whether allowed or not, they weren't there so she reasonably assumed they went out the door.

Bbm.
Agreed.
Wishing this scenario could be different, I'm angry that this (i.e., maybe foul play ?) is even be a possibility. 🤬
However here we are.
Consider when the media asked MBM at her first interview what she wanted, she said, paraphrasing, “I” want them home, “I” want to hold them, and “I" want them home.

Not, “PLEASE do not hurt my children! PLEASE let them go! PLEASE, just leave them at the closest gas station or public business, just PLEASE let my children go so.

Or, Lilly! Jack! It’s mommy! (you’d think daddy whould be beside her but neither of them appeared together on camera). WE love you!! So many people are helping mommy and daddy to look for you! We’ll find you, I promise! We’re waiting right here at home for you with your unicorn and dinosaur, too!

Did we see any of that? Nope. IMO, there was no abduction and IMO, the kids did not wander off.

Well, for what's it worth, I'm a mother of 6 and find it way past odd.

I think Wednesday was just a no school day. In my area they are called "teacher in-service days", not sure if it's the same there.

Basically teachers have school, but students don't and each district will have their own calendar vs a national holiday.
