Wait...I thought the story was that they slipped out because the sliding door is magically "super quiet." That makes it sound like they didn't know they were outside at all. If they knew, then the whole deal about the quietness of the door is moot anyway, right? This may have been addressed before, but I'm confused as to how they knew they were playing outside? In mom's interview:
"They were outside playing, but we weren’t aware of it at the time, and the next thing we knew it was quiet. We get up and I tell him, my partner, Daniel, I tell him, do you hear the kids? And he says no. We get up instantly and we’re looking outside. We’re looking everywhere, yelling for them, and I instantly just called 911. I just had the instinct I needed to call."
Weren't aware of it at the time? How are they aware of it NOW, then? Was a door left open that they didn't notice at first? I'm also wondering how big the home is, considering both parents are inside the home but don't notice the children go outside for, seemingly, a decent bit of time. MOO.
ETA: I have lived in a trailer like that before and there is no such thing as a quiet door in those damn things lol. Often the handles are stiff and hard to open, especially if they're old.
Also, how were they not aware they were outside if they were able to notice it became quiet? That means they could hear them beforehand, no? So, they knew were they were, because they could hear them... God, make it make sense. There's absolutely no logic to anything they say.
