Has anyone thought these two cases are connected????
Wasn’t this the boy whose boot was found near a lake or a body of water. It was thought that he drowned. But, I recall that I read somewhere that RCMP might be relooking at Dylan’s case. Imo

There has been nothing indicating the cases are related.

I don't know if this link has been posted previously, it is the Facebook page of the local radio station in pictou County and has a few local news articles on lilly and Jack that may nor be mainstream

This is the post:

If the kids walked down the road it wouldn't take them long to walk 1.2 kms, maybe just 15-20 minutes, and then they may have taken the Pipeline Trail thinking they were on their way back home. They'd be familiar with a trail that takes them to their cabin.

I realize it's a stretch of the imagination, especially in that there couldn't have been any traffic during that time, but the kids may have been on a mission to get somewhere.

I hope they find something today, anything , some kind of clue.

I do as well. These two little ones need to be brought home.
The searchers are probably nearly finished for the day. Anyone hear or read anything?

- search and rescue teams are expanding their efforts beyond the initial search area
- no helicopter or canine units assisting this time
- confirmed volunteers will be back Sunday

Interesting above link says…sounds like they have no evidence, or are they just talking about physical evidence.

“Although there’s no new evidence, search and rescue teams discovered a boot print in the area during a previous weekend. Volunteers want to follow up with a deeper search in that area.

“We don’t know for sure it (the boot print) was from the children,” said Hansen. “But it’s the only real thing we’ve had to go on thus far and so we’re just investigating that further.”

This latest report refers to the pipeline ‘corridor’ which is a more accurate description than a “trail” that typically resembles a pathway.

BBM
Search manager Amy Hansen with the Colchester Ground Search and Rescue team said volunteer crews are focusing on a wider area, including a near nearby pipeline corridor and an area near Lake Lansdowne.

The location that they were seen is irrelevant to the general public. The family was seen on video and by witnesses. Not naming the location protects the witnesses from harassment, from being told false information, from disclosing facts that may be important in the investigation, and from other issues that can arise.
It just said "family members" which could also be someone other than the Mom and/or Step-Dad. I don't expect to be informed as it's an ongoing LE investigation. I still though wonder what the circumstances were, especially since Lilly was kept out of school for sickness that day. Of course there's a lot of questions and curiosity as to what the children did the day before they went missing and exactly why they didn't go to school that morning. JMO

The family members were the mom and stepdad but DM’s unable to say why this outing to New Glasgow might be important to the investigation. What that was about is adding yet more questions that we don’t have answers for.

“Martell said police have retrieved surveillance camera footage in New Glasgow that shows himself; the children's mother, Malehya Brooks-Murray; the couple's one-year-old baby, Meadow; and Lilly and Jack. He said he couldn't say where the footage came from because it might be important to the investigation.”

From the Yahoo News article linked above, which are actually two articles. You have to scroll down to see the second article, from which I've copied the following snippet:

Minutes later, he said he heard the sliding door that leads to the backyard open and close.

I am so confused. After initial statements about a silent sliding door, how could I have missed that DM actually heard that door open and close?

If he did hear the door open and close, isn't that the moment one or both adults would get up and go after the children?

Or, if he did hear the door open and close, isn't that the moment someone could have taken them?

Or...

And within a few minutes he jumped in his vehicle and started searching. No way they could both get out of the yard that quickly.

I don't think they could have been abducted that quickly either given how long the driveway is.

This is my first time seeing a quote where he said he heard the door. I don't see how they could’ve misquoted him the way it’s written. It’s pretty specific - “open and close”

It seems like it was a quote from one of the first days but they didn’t publish it at the time?

If he did say that, it’s quite the contradiction compared to his other statements about the door.

Here I thought it was silent ?????????
Why is the story changing, or at least differing from the first account ?
Imo.

The way the article is written it’s unclear. It doesn’t say when he actually said that.
It seems possible that hearing the door actually was his first account and then it changed to silent in the interviews that came after.

It’s certainly a new discrepancy to me though.

So there's a version where they didn't know they were outside, a version where they never heard the silent screen door, and a version where they heard the screen door? Either he's being grossly misquoted in some articles, or he's forgetting what he's already said. I know with time you start misremembering details, I'm very bad for that, but it's only been a month? Very bizarre.

Maybe those closest to the kids have been convinced by LE there's no reason to do that.
Maybe those closest to the kids have been advised not to do that.
Maybe those closest to the kids are in a nightmarish mental state and are incapable of doing that?

Lots of things we don't know.
Not one family member? Don't believe it for a minute, just my opinion though.

A reporter from Canadian Press summarized events of this story yesterday, on May 30th. Obviously they don’t get points for accuracy. The media does not always get things right, this is reported no where else.

I was wondering about that but if DM said those words it leaves things open to interpretation.
Not the first time msm has made mistakes, but if they're quoting him directly.....

I'm thinking the first account from DM was that he heard the door open & close, and he misremembered ?
One can see why LE don't seem to be pushing an abduction as it would be incredibly rare for someone to kidnap kids (2 of them !) from out of their own sliding door.
There are oddities that need clarification, that's for certain.
Imo.
