they are 3 and 6 and I think only recently turned those ages
According to the title of the thread, they are 4 and 6.

Have you seen their birth dates somewhere? Or where did this information come from that they've recently turned those ages?

Maybe not very important in the grand scheme of things because 4 year olds can get lost in the bush as easily as 3 year olds, still it's better to not repeat the 3-year-old error. I say repeat because I've seen the mistake on this thread or the previous one before.

Re: the circle of suspects: technically, there aren't any named suspects at all at this time, and also, how do you know that most of these are people aren't related to the kids?
The people coming & going to the RV: DM's family, their associates, their visitors... aren't likely related to Jack & Lilly.... are they???

We know from other cases when LE give a timeline and a narrative to events leading up to a disappearance, they leave out a whole chunk of stuff. reasons could be either it might put people off coming forward with information , it could put the kids in further danger in the case of abduction or reveal to potential suspects evidence in the case and most of the time these things are only mentioned by the media after its gone to court .

I was reading through the posts about the Mi'kmaq people's and the opinions on whether or not they would allow or condone for the children to be hidden within their community without imforming RCMP because of some high moral standing and because of harrowing past history with children been taken from them never to be seen again .

And I think this is where unconscious bias comes into play . Just because person's are from a minority grouping doesn't mean they are any different to the rest of society. This is how the them and us segregation carries forward into generations on both sides of the equation. We can respect how a minority group wants to govern themselves or carry out their customs and I know certain minorities and majorities prefer the us and them Usually self serving purposes imo because most don't want segregation but realistically we are all human and expierence the same disfunction or functions within our families. Alcoholism, sober lives , drug abuse college degrees ,DV , loving relationships, child abuses , celebrations of births and weddings ,broken relationships, unmarried mothers and fathers , crime etc .

If and its a big if ,the children were removed from the area into the care of the band for whatever reason . It has nothing to do with certain moral standards the Mi'kmaq people attain to live by . Just like within majority communities, there is family loyalties and no amount of society's moral standards will break those .

Most people would commit a crime if it was needed to help or protect their family . Most people if at risk of their family starving would steal a loaf of bread , don't matter that the law and our moral compass says we shouldn't.

So hypothetically if one of Maleyha's family members took the children with her knowledge it is out of loyalty to her ,not a moral duty to other band members imo

Well said su5ie.

It does appear that there is new wood for the fencing on the left side. It looks like the other sections are just temporary fencing and need to be upgraded. Since Meadow is walking or close to it, then they probably wanted this more secure for her.

I'm thinking the fencing was probably for the dog. A kid could pony over that fence no problem. We'll, Lilly probably could. She seems like a real spitfire.

We need angels

I think you might be surprised at how many people don't follow the social media rumors on cases.
I've always been thankful they're not allowed here because I prefer discussions based on facts. I'm probably dating myself when I say I always loved the line attributed to "Joe Friday" played by Jack Webb on Dragnet: "just the facts, ma'am".

In this case, bio dad appears to not be in the picture at all, and as far as I know, neither LE or any MSM outlet have even mentioned him.

I do not follow social rumors.

I couldn't possibly know that, and as far as I know, it has not been mentioned in either MSM or LE updates about the case. Neither the people themselves, or who they're related to.

Or she might be having trouble dealing with the fact that her children are missing. Not everyone can be out in the limelight when something so devastating has happened, no matter what the reason. IMO, it would be nice if society could let the woman mourn her situation as she is able instead of thinking she "should" do this or that. I have many friends who would be out pounding the pavement every day, and many others that would curl up into a ball in this situation.
Did anyone from her side of the family attend the vigil? Show their concern and/or appreciation for all those that are searching?

Is that a requirement for a vigil someone else decided was important? If they had arranged it, then I might wonder if none were there. If someone else did, then it would not be their obligation to attend if their pain is great enough that they would feel they were detrimental being there. IMO, of course. I don't find it my place to judge how others mourn their loss.

Here’s a clip I haven’t seen before

Here’s a clip I haven’t seen before
Thank you for posting that. There’s a wealth of information in it. The lead searcher said that she has been a SAR worker for 22 years, and all signs indicate to her that the children are in the woods. They haven’t been found for all the reasons previously mentioned: dense brush and tree falls, challenging terrain, and children tend to shelter in small spaces when lost, making it difficult to find them.

Some excerpts. Reporter commentary unless otherwise indicated:

-not one, but two missing children, a dog that barks at everything, a mother who left on the second day, a father who hasn't seen the kids in three years, and a stepfather trying to piece things together.

-the children's mother took the baby to be with her family in another part of the province. Her mother told CBC News the RCMP told them not to speak with news reporters. The RCMP says it just advised everyone to be mindful of the information they share publicly.

-Search crews returned for two more weekends until the end of May searching wells, mine shafts and septic systems, even flying a drone beneath the home. The four-year-old is wearing some blue dinosaur boots. Police say they found a bootprint, and listen to this in the radio chatter: “families uh brought us to a location there uh not far away that uh there's a part piece of a blanket”.

Police won't say anything about a blanket but Martell says a piece of Lilly's blanket was found near the bootprint.

-he's (Step-father, DM) keenly aware the public suspects him. He says the police did too at the start.

-DM: “of course the stepfather was always a prime suspect right off the beginning”, Reporter: so he offered to take a polygraph test. DM: “I was extremely nervous, especially with the first question. They asked: “did you kill Lilly and Jack?” Reporter: “That was the first question they asked you?” DM: “Yeah.” Reporter: “When did you find out the result of your test?” DM: “ Immediately right after. Reporter: “What did they say to you?” DM: “You did a good job. You passed.”

-Lilly and Jack's paternal grandmother: “their smiles are just beautiful”. She hadn't seen the children in nearly 2 years; a relationship left complicated after her son, their biological father, chose to stay out of their lives. She says he has been questioned by police three times. Paternal Grandmother: “A couple of days ago they had contact and they told him that that they weren't looking his way anymore that everything was fine.” She says she joined the search herself as soon as she heard Lilly and Jack were missing. She doesn't believe the children are in the woods. Paternal Grandmother: “There's no reason for any child to wander deep into the woods, there's just not. The brush is just too thick.

Tonight is about saying a prayer: she attended a vigil in Pictou County marking one month since the children went missing and says she feels the support of the community and beyond. Paternal Grandmother: “These are everybody's grandchildren, they're not just mine now.”

will rectify my error going forward, thank you for the heads up. Initially when replying to yourself, I had thought it must have been originally reported or posted by mistake in threads that Jack was 3 and i picked up on that and just regurgitated that age . So I looked back through thread #1 to check . No definitely my own mistake . Lol

It always amazes me how easily it is to make a mistake as simple as that and then carry on that mistake and believe it as fact . Unfortunately I can't edit any previous posts where I inserted the age wrong. But I'm very grateful you pointed it out . I really try hard not to place rumour or unverified info in threads as other posters are reading them and especially in a thread related to missing children I only am interested in facts ,verified media sourced articles and of course speculated hypothesis from fellow posters.

This might not mean anything but I noticed that DM sort of flipped the script here

DM: I was not in deep sleep by any means and then about 20 minutes passed, then when I woke up Malehya was right beside me, she was still asleep and I said I don’t hear Lilly and Jack

When MBM was on camera in May (this is just part of her interview) she said

I tell him, my partner Daniel, I tell him do you hear the kids and he says no and we get up instantly

I noticed that as well. Him already knowing much of society finds him guilty as sin, I don't think he's going to lie in a sit down interview that he knows the country is going to watch. Either way, I don't think it matters. Both agree they were having a lazy morning with baby M, and then the kids were gone. He might have said it first, then she could have said no, I can't hear them either, then they got up at the same time. I'm not reading anything into it.

I find it doubtful the polygraph examiner officially told Daniel that he passed. They have to rewatch the video and examine the data. Maybe consult their superiors. If Daniel point blank asked if he passed, this might just be what they are told to say to everyone.
