"Families brought us to a location there not far away that there's a piece of a blanket which the mother says she believes belongs to her daughter, just off the road here," an official said over the radio. Martell confirmed it was a piece of Lilly's blanket."

So, is Lilly's blanket missing? Or is this an old blanket they would play with and make forts, or use for picnics?

"There is more evidence than what the public knows, but I can't elaborate on any of that," said Martell.

Daniel says this right after they talk about the blanket. What other evidence?

"RCMP confirmed in a statement that cadaver dogs have not been deployed as part of the investigation."

Why the heck not?

I would like to think SAR people are taught when they find something, it is placed in an evidence bag without touching, clearly marking time, date location, environment, ground etc, or even guarding it until LE can do all of the above to ensure zero loss of chain of possession.
I participated in a search for a missing person, and in our case, if we found something, we were told not to touch it, but contact the leadership/command of the search effort, and wait in the spot for them to come and see it. However, we were untrained volunteers. It’s possible this group has more extensive training wrt use of evidence bags.

I must say I am deeply surprised that DM gets so much suspicion in here, while MBM does not. They told basically the same story about being together in the same room the morning kids went missing. Either both of them tell the truth, or both lie. It is virtually impossible that one could be a liar, and the other a saint.
I agree !

Still remain curious about the radio silence of the entire MBM side of that family.
Imo, they both know more than they're saying and tbh I'm starting to wonder if the kids were hidden or sold ?
From what I understand regarding past cases, you can be in a whole lot of trouble if you're caught lying to the police !
Not saying anyone is.

Also unclear if withholding information could be construed as being dishonest ?
Maybe the police/RCMP wouldn't consider it as such but more like part of the parent's grieving process or their way of dealing with the loss.

What happened to those two precious children ?
And so we wait......

Bbm.
So the mother was shown the piece of blanket ?

Before the police could get a look at it ?
And the families discovered this evidence before the searchers did ?

Also wanted to add that at times, it feels like DM and MBM are playing games with the public and the RCMP.
It's complicated and convoluted.
As in, maybe (?) "...we know something, but can't tell the police or anyone outside of our family...."
Make it make sense.
It's starting to seem odd, imo.

I've attempted to give the mother and DM the benefit of the doubt this whole time, and I have to say, with each new article that comes out, I tend to believe them even more.

Also from the link above -

“The last time the children were seen was the day before they went missing, when they were caught on surveillance footage with Martell, Malehya Brooks-Murray, who is the children's mother, and their one-year-old daughter, Meadow.

Martell said the footage was from a store near Highland Square Mall in New Glasgow, N.S..

Indeed it is.
That piece of material could obtain good info or none at all. It might speak of Lilly's DNA, or Jacks, or the dogs, or a wild rabbit. Who knows. Does it resemble a blanket Lilly had? Maybe. How did it get there? Again, numerous ways, but if the family extracted it, and everyone had a look at it, they would be ruling out way more dna (if any), than a nice clean piece of evidence.
Unless a strange dna identity was noted on it, then how it got there would be a huge issue.
Could family be naive enough to have handled it? Probably.
Are they being honest? Unknown.
So I think the only relevance in the piece of blanket, is ... the child was there.... something dragged it there.... someone put it there..... So if no one put it there, then the child was there at some point, and the bush needs to be reworked again, only this time with cadaver dogs.

Young family getting groceries, I would say it's Walmart in the same plaza. They have video. It they used self check out, it would be video only and no interaction with a staff member. Or maybe even Dollarama across the street.

I find this interview pretty interesting.

I hope the investigators are not just asking questions like - Did you kill Lilly and Jack? Ask some questions like - Did Lilly die accidently? Did Jack die accidentally?

I find this interview pretty interesting.
I haven't had a chance to see until now, and all I can say is wow... lots to unpack.

He is either a great actor or the biggest innocent schmuck on the planet.

What did he mean by (1:07) he knows who started the rumour about a drug party", " to take the heat off himself". Who is that? Who has an axe to grind? Is it with him or MBM, maybe people dont' know they are her children not his, or is she a target?

He also stated he spoke to his coworker on the video LE have. Did he just happen to run into him or was it an arranged meeting?

He also stated the kids are obviously not in the woods, and that they are dead. I do believe he definitely knows what has happened, and I think from this interview, that he has confided in LE.

I might add... who gives a one on one interview with a national media outlet 6 weeks after a devastating life event involving your kids?? Without evidence this case will probably never be solved.

The piece of blanket was found on the first day of the search…May 2nd. We’re only hearing about it now but it appears LE didn’t consider it crucial information at the time so it’d be doubtful it’ll become more significant just because it’s now being reported. It appears it strengthens the story of the wandering children but it raises still more questions that may be answered by now as well….such as where was the blankets last known location?

BBM
On the first day of the search, emergency responders speaking over a non-encrypted radio channel mention a canine unit being dispatched to a blanket.

"Families brought us to a location there not far away that there's a piece of a blanket which the mother says she believes belongs to her daughter, just off the road here," an official said over the radio.”

"Did you kill Lilly and Jack?" That was the first question Daniel Martell says he was asked during a polygraph test in the case of two missing Nova Scotia children.

He said all the questions were presumptive that the children are no longer alive, such as: "Are you an accessory to the murder of Lilly and Jack?"

My thinking is the RCMP are leaning towards homicide. But by whom they're not at liberty to say. jmo

There definitely is a lot to unpack in that interview.

He keeps saying he doesn't know if he can say/ he doesn't want to impede the investigation but he carries on giving out information anyway.

I just find it hard to believe him. He seems quite nonchalant considering the situation.

"I might add... who gives a one on one interview with a national media outlet 6 weeks after a devastating life event involving your kids??"

We know he has not been working and probably no one will give him work now, given the ongoing investigation. Did this media outlet offer him compensation for this interview?

That would be very distasteful if they did IMO.

I took the chatter to say "Family's brought us to a location there not far away that there's a piece of a blanket which the mother says she believes belongs to her daughter, just off the road here," an official said over the radio.”

as in family has brought us (could be one member, could be multiple members) JMO

there is another option where one parent arranged for the children to be taken without the other knowing. In DM's case it could be jealousy, in MBM's case it could be to escape the relationship, but I do agree their story has remained consistent, even being apart...if one had suspicion about the other you would think it would have come out by now, especially as they are no longer together.

I thought the 8 kilometer reference was interesting. With regards to video evidence collected from private citizens cameras.
Tells me whoever is responsible is local.
