Another reason might be it could point towards the children are dead but not to whom murdered them. And I’m just guessing but in a wilderness area surely there’s areas involving the deaths of animals. In a car or house there’d be store bought meat. So are cadaver dogs trained only to detect human remains? i’m thinking not but I don’t know for sure.

And on another topic, polygraphs are inadmissible in court in many places due to their high unreliability.

10 years of research from 1963-1973 showed them to be unreliable:

and the research since then has shown the same (see the first link for a statistical analysis). The link below shows the same, but is more recent:

One of the variables that increases unreliability, according to this last study, is the degree of motivation to lie.

The conclusion was stated as: neither humans nor machines are reliable lie detectors.

ADMIN NOTE:

Speculation about possible band involvement is not based on any known fact.

Move on from that discussion.

ETA: On another note, posts that were removed for discussing rumor were related to the information brought over from social media. It does not mean that members can't discuss what Daniel said in MSM about the rumors.

Thank you.

Yes, we have IEPs in Canada too. Teaching professionals of course will do assessments to determine learning outcomes, development, etc. but they do not offer diagnoses, as that is only for medical professionals. They offer appropriate support in a school setting after medical diagnosis. And we are very grateful for the valuable work they do.
To clarify for those interested - in canada - I can mostly just speak for Ontario but there are similar processes across provinces, school boards have psychologists who do offer both screenings and psychoeducational assessments and usually these waitlists are long. This can diagnosis a number of things - typically learning disabilities, ADHD, mild intellectual disability with a very fullsome report with recommendations. While a psychologist can diagnose autism, this requires a different more complex assessment not typically done in school boards.

These assessments are typically offered by funded community child and adolescent services with often long waitlists - although autism assessments can usually happen more quickly the younger the child is identified. The other option that a lot of families pursue is private assessments done by a psychologist that can include more neurodevelopmental testing. These can cost a lot of money but are also often covered by health benefits if a family has this - there can be assumptions made that this would not have been accessible privately for Lily and Jack.
In some cases, psychiatrists and developmental pediatricians can also diagnose autism and some developmental concerns but they usually suggest a full psychological assessment.

Another note - sometimes, if a family is not accessing needed services for a child, this could be considered neglect to their needs and might warrant a report to child protective services.

Hope that helps clarify some of the questions around services in Canada.

True and i agree, still two kids are still missing. Who knows what they are experiencing right now.
The thought of your kids being missing or even murdered should bring up somewhat of a emotion.
No plea of bringing them back at the end of the interview. I just feel like there is some stuff missing.

But this is a interview that is edited so this could mean nothing. It is just my opinion.

But these are all normal human emotional reactions to a crisis or life changing event . Grief has many faces and not a one size fits all .

Think of the range of emotions that people display at a family funeral not all are visibly Grief stricken with tears streaming down their faces Some even are laughing and joking as they share treasured memories of the person . All acceptable, all normal

The search manager in charge of the efforts looking for two missing Nova Scotia children says she believes they are somewhere in the woods. Amy Hansen was part of a team of search and rescue officials that spent 12,000 hours in the thick forest of Lansdowne Station. She spoke with the CBC's Kayla Hounsell.

This the first time I have seen anything about Lily's blanket being found, can anyone confirm that it had been found?
"He also confirmed that Lilly's blanket had been found on the first day of the search, although this information had not yet been released by police. The blanket was reportedly discovered near a child-sized boot print in the pipeline area".

I have watch many true crime cases and have seen where they had passed the polygraph even though they had hard core evidence against them.

Seeing this video does make me think that if the kids are in there, it is actually so unlikely they will be able to find them. She mentions K9s - from reading here I was under the impression that they weren't using them? Or did they use scent dogs but not cadaver?

It's the cadaver dogs specifically that haven't been brought in.
Ironically, it's so thick and complicated with all the deadfall, it seems cadaver dogs would be the best bet to find them - if they are in fact still in there.

As usual, the DM is playing games with facts. Lilly's blanket was not found. A piece of cloth was found and the family stated that it was from Lilly's blanket. LE have not made any comment on the piece of cloth at all.

Agree. I hope this is done next, not sure why they didn't do this sooner?

Seeing that video and hearing about the child-sized boot print though... it is really making me start to think they did wander in there and are just hidden. Crazy making

Trying again about the cadaver dogs. Where I work, there are three main types of dogs. Sniffer dogs (that follow a trail after being primed with a scent - those are the kinds of dogs we saw used in the Barbara Thompson missing persons case).

Then, there are drug sniffing dogs, as seen at airports and checkpoints.

And then, there are cadaver dogs (HRDD's or human remains discovery dogs), who are trained on the odors of human decomp. Here are the citations:

At this point in my career, I teach a low level introductory forensic lab in which we teach students about the chemical structure that separates human decomp from other decomp (at a very basic level) and they are trained to do entry level forensic jobs in the field. Training cadaver dogs properly requires...a human body. So, there are a series of legal and ethical rules that everyone must follow, which is part of what I teach. Here's the biochemistry behind it:

In general, in my region, the bodies are "donated to science" and then used as cadavers in many applications within much more sophisticated labs than mine (we have no ability to actually provide cadavers except in the one class the requires them absolutely, which is anatomy lab). Instead, we do more on the mechanics of running lab tests on small samples that we buy from a medical lab resource. We do not open the samples, we run them through spectrometers and watch the process of ascertaining human byproducts and DNA from cadavers so that students can go on to do more sophisticated jobs with upper division training. One of my colleagues is involved in blind sampling and assessment at one of the FBI's body farms, resulting in work like this:

Daniel does state in the interview that there is a lot going on that people aren't aware of , so I'm guessing issuing a plea might not be useful and prehaps he and Maleyha have been told it could put the kids in danger , which could be a valid reason for her ongoing radio silence

Thinking of trees, still standing or fallen, just throwing this unrelated case out there.. fwiw.

I wonder did someone take or lure the kids away to hurt Daniel or Maleyha , In a spiteful way . Prehaps a neighbour ,jealous family member or someone who maybe was trespassing the property by setting up a makeshift camp just beyond the perimeter and Daniel reported it to authorities

If Daniel is stating there is much more going on, than what people are speculating to have happened. Does this not require thinking outside of the box of the usual . Wandering off , killed by parent , abducted by stranger etc .

If he is reading that speculation online , he is aware of the scenarios that people are concluding to have happened so , is he subliminally telling us that it's not those hypothesis, it is something else entirely?

Opinions?

Well you could blow me down like a feather right now . I would not be a person who is easily shocked by the grisly and macabre but that is shocking
