I don't see Malehya coming up with a good place to hide the bodies, if she did this on her own.

Has anyone got the know how or tools to do a clean up and get a better imaging of the pink window covering

Is the swing set located beside the bedrooms of DM and mbm or the kids could janie have presumed the kids were outside but she actually heard loud voices inside

after sitting with this all morning I do believe her story, I think the entire story makes sense.

Except the noise of the kids. I’m not convinced that was part of the original day. I believe the rest may have happened as she said but I’m questioning her hearing them because of how she made sure to at she would have heard them leave the gate. The gate of the fence that we know wasn’t completed at the time they left.

I wanted to edit my previous post but couldn’t figure it out, think I need my coffee first lol

Anyways, this is Daniel Martells mother speaking out
We speculated before about why the sliding door might've been unlocked - seeing in the video how the trailer seems to have sunk in places, I wonder if that door actually can't be locked because the warping of the doorframe shifted the lock mechanism out of alignment?

hoping for resolution one day. Still following the case but nothing left to say in the absence of anything new to discuss.

The more I think about what she said, the more I do believe every word. Including her hearing the kids that morning, then suddenly not hearing them, but hearing DM calling out for them.

It really drills down the timeline as well. I did previously think it was possible they did wander into the woods but this new timeline torches that. There just wasn't enough time for them to get far enough away that neither of them heard Daniel or step-gran calling out to them.

The only reasonable option left is, those kids were removed from the property in a vehicle. That no one heard. Now I wonder how many of those 5,000 video files the RCMP has collected are of cars that were on Gairloch road between 8am and 9am.

I agree, I'm not convinced she heard the kids either. I'm sure she believes she heard them though.

I'm also curious as to why she didn't take her phone with her whilst searching the woods, so she could call the parents or emergency services if she found the children. But then the signal might not work in the woods so might be why. Moo

Whatever happened, I do believe the grandmothers pain is genuine - and wish her all the peace and healing she can get while navigating the dissapearence of the kids.

I was to the understanding that seizure meant a taking an item from someone or somewhere without the owners consent. Legally obtained with a Search and Seizure warrant from a legal person. So was it seized from someone who found it, or from a location in someone's home or car or ??? Just reread it, "seized from a location on Landsdowne road"... query fond on someone's property?? or a house or car? Or possibly the pipeline is owned by government or gas company, then they would need a warrant to remove something from their property?
If you are referring to the pink blanket it was found outside on the road near the home of Lily and Jack so a search warrant wasn't required. I think the news release is using typical cop speak when referring to potential evidence.

not usually unless criminality suspected, homocide, foul play, or maybe it's just because this is a double missing children and lots of media coverage??
The RCMP are the investigating officers in areas of Canada where there are no police forces with the forensic equipment and support staff to successful investigate any crime let alone a disappearance of two children. The only two provinces in Canada that have their own provincial police force are Ontario and Quebec although Alberta is on track to create their own police force. Municipalities or cities like Halifax would probably also defer to the federal force due to funding and manpower.

The release said a pink blanket that was seized on Lansdowne Road during the search is being forensically examined. The children's stepfather, Daniel Martell, previously told CBC News that the blanket belongs to Lilly.
"Right now, there are more than 800 tasks associated to this investigation," Staff Sgt. Rob McCamon, the acting officer in charge of major crimes and and behavioural sciences.

"A tremendous amount of careful, deliberate investigative work is underway by people here at home and in other parts of Canada. Our collective efforts will continue every day until we determine with certainty the circumstances surrounding Lilly and Jack's disappearance."

800 tasks and 5000 video files!
clearly not a 'cold' case

Is this the same piece of pink fabric supposedly found by family or SARS? Or are they referring to the pink blanket noted on one of the trailer window that strangely was missing in subsequent photos of the home? I couldn’t tell if it was a drape or blanket/sheet? If that was the same fabric, wouldn’t that be a cause for speedy examination of the two fabrics? And what could that mean? If nothing, why was that window covering removed?whoops almost forgot to enter the msm proof
No pink window cover
Pink window cover
I suppose spring housecleaning could be a reason, or rolling bodies in it, or just a change of decor. Or sadly wanting to get rid of memories?

maybe the police took it to analyze

I find the video is pretty informative. It is helpful to see the area around the property, not just the same few photos we’ve been seeing.
I chuckled to see her dog, recalling how we wondered, early on, if a dog attack may have been a factor. I think we can rule that out, lol.
Seeing the distance between the sliding door and the bedroom shared by DM and MBM is also helpful. It could explain not hearing the sliding door. Though I do wonder how JM was able to hear the children’s voices but DM and MBM were not.
IMHO
I believe in MBM's first statement to media she stated "the children must have gone out the sliding door which they didn't hear and were playing outside but that they didn't realize at the time" This would explain how she knew that later.

Me too. I am grateful that "JM" chose to speak with CBC and that we were able to hear her voice and perspective. I recognize that this was not an investigative interview, but I wish two key events had been further discussed :

1) What happened on Day 2, when (reportedly) MBM's mom accused DM? DM said that JM "kicked them off her property" (or something similar). No one has provided any further details about this peculiar event.

2) JM has "not been able to see any" of her 3 biological grandchildren since Lilly and Jack went missing. Why not? We can assume the answer, but it's a strange statement to leave unchallenged, especially when the next line is that JM "yearns to be called 'Granny' once again."

I must correct myself… they might not necessarily need a specific warrant for each specific thing. They could have a warrant to cover most of investigation, and they can seize an article and get a warrant later, not letting the article out of their possession.
More importantly, Iwish we could get a glimpse of that piece of fabric.
When someone calls the police regarding a missing child it's SOP for a force to send a couple of officers to the home of the missing child. They do an informal interview with the parents or guardian regarding the time, the location, what the child(ren) were wearing, what the circumstances were etc. Usually, parents or guardians are agitated and freely give permission for the officers to look around. I would think if a parent or guardian immediately suggested the police need a search warrant to look around it would sent out some red flags to the officers. Life style choices could make innocent parents be reluctant to allow a search in case there was some illegal substances around the home. Lots of times LE don't care about that when looking for lost children unless they felt they may have played a part in the disappearance. The investigating police force probably went back later with a legit warrant just to cover more bases. They've searched the property and the woods numerous times. I doubt they obtained a warrant for each search.

As for the fabric, someone mentioned 'piece of fabric'. I don't know whether that is a accurate portrayal of the pink blanket. It's quite possible that the blanket in question is Lily's baby blanket which she still used as her 'blankie' a security object that was well loved and worn and if the term 'piece of blanket' was referred to in any report I'd hazard a guess it's a poor translation from French to denote a worn item.

It would seem they are referring to the balance of the blanket which Daniel stated was found in the bin in their trailer.

that's the first time I've heard that
was that in MSM?

I’m skeptical that the piece of pink fabric is in any way helpful. The RCMP didn’t seem too excited about it given it was a month later before the pipeline trail was searched. If Lilly carried this blanket everywhere, why wasn’t it mentioned to be missing along with her boots and packpack? Where was it the last time anyone remembered seeing it? I can’t get overly excited about it given nobody is suggesting how it might fit into the children’s disappearance.
