Curious @AddyFinch why do you think they were on the property on the evening of May 1? And why do you think they went missing on the morning of May 2? What do you think happened?
I agree I think that if police had confirmation in some aspect that they were there they would have told the public as they similarly did with the other footage

Specifically the dates of the dashcam footage, I don’t think offers a clue to anything other than what they’ve said, it’s a thorough investigation. For example I’m reminded of the Likeness/O’Brien abduction/triple murder in Calgary a few years back. A distinctive green 1/2 ton truck was sighted driving past their residence several times, eventually with a tarp over the box that hadn’t been there before. Studying nearby CCTV and traffic on the street gave LE the big break in that case.

IMO it’s standard operating procedure during any investigation to take a look at traffic to determine if anyone appears to be casing out the area. It isn’t proof of anyone in particular being investigated other than if somebody they already interviewed claimed to be nowhere near the children’s residence that entire week.

I think the #1 leading statement by the RCMP is this investigation “will take longer than we hoped”.

Totally agree! The cam footage is used for pattern recognition.

Just rewatched this, and will be honest, after a month, I saw it in a different light. Why did these parents think they were abducted only? Did MBM say it first and he jumped on? Did she plant the idea? Someone compared DM to a West father in a case in US, is he similar?

Parents and Step Gran said they were there on morning of May 2. Mother made the 911 call. As far as May1, who knows?

From the RCMP investigation briefings, I would not be focusing on whether any of what was said by family members is true.

My approach has been to build my hypothesis about this case based on statements offered by the RCMP investigating the disappearance, not by versions of events given by the family. Below are some highlights from official RCMP news releases (with links) for those who are interested.
  • "Based on the details we've gathered so far, we've confirmed that Lilly and Jack were observed in public with family members on the afternoon of May 1," says Cpl. Sandy Matharu, Northeast Nova RCMP Major Crime Unit. "We're now asking anyone who has dashcam footage or video along Gairloch Rd. between 12 p.m. on April 28 and 12 p.m. on May 2 to contact us."
  • June 11: More than 11 Nova Scotia RCMP units are working on the missing persons investigation, some of which include the Northeast Nova RCMP Major Crime Unit, Pictou County District RCMP, Digital Forensic Services, Truth Verification Section, Legal Application Support Team, Police Dog Services, Underwater Recovery Team, Behavioural Sciences Group, and the Criminal Analysis Service.
  • May 7: This search has included many agencies, including volunteer ground search and rescue teams from all surrounding areas and New Brunswick, the Civil Air Search and Rescue Association, the Nova Scotia Guard, the Salvation Army, the Joint Rescue Coordination Centre, Department of Natural Resources Air Services, Nova Scotia Public Safety and Field Communications, Canada Heavy Urban Search and Rescue Task Force 5, and several RCMP units, including Police Dog Services, drone operators, and our Major Crime Unit.
  • June 1: Seventy-eight trained searchers from nine ground search and rescue organizations, including, Colchester County, Pictou County, Halifax, Strait Area, East Hants, Eastern Shore, Musquodoboit Valley, Pugwash, and Eastern Shore, were engaged today in an effort to advance the ongoing investigation and locate Lilly and Jack.
  • In an effort to advance the ongoing investigation and locate Lilly and Jack, searchers from ground search and rescue teams and the RCMP will focus on specific areas around Gairloch Rd. and the nearby pipeline trail, where a boot print was previously located.
IMO there is no evidence the children were at the Landsdowne property on the evening of May 1 or May 2 before the 911 call. This is an unparalleled investigation in Canada of monumental cost and resources. This is a human experience for all of the people who work for the agencies assigned to this case.
I can only hope the answer to this case lies in the video footage RCMP are currently analysing. With the amount of footage they have, though, I imagine that could take several months

Yes I had read it was a scale in which the likes hasn't been seen previously in that area of Canada in particular.

I've no doubt LE are throwing everything at the case including the kitchen sink [sic] and the fact that they are and I gather that there is certain things the public aren't informed of and I guess in all honesty why should they keep us updated we are not close relatives but , imo this is not a missing persons investigation . It is a missing persons with probable homicide .

I'm sorry now to add this and I really dislike trolling a grieving mother but jesus wake up and plead for your kids or at least be a visible presence in the search and investigation for them . Sure she doesn't owe Joe Public or the media one iota of engagement but allegedly not speaking with the RCMP in almost 2 and half months !!! Astounding in the circumstances.

Imo she invited the speculation of her involvement by her actions from day 2 right up until the present moment . No wonder fb , ig and twitter are on fire with rumour and accusations. IMHO she is allowing People to be monetizing on not only herself but her vulnerable missing children by her reluctance to engage and be a voice for those children in a complete and utter cesspool of dis - information. It's crazy .

Sorry for the rant but my god when the voice of two beautiful children is a grandmother who hasn't seen her grandchildren in two years and a questionable relative named derrin G . What impression does it give and don't come at me with she is entitled to privacy . I know that but there is laid back and or needing privacy and there is not giving a 🤬🤬🤬🤬

Yes I do think this footage is what will crack the case I just hope they have recieved enough footage from Gairloch Rd and the surrounding area . Ie landsdowne Rd and landsdowne Station road .

I have a hypothesis and a speculative view of what happened but the source for my theory is not msm but a comment made between family members about their relatives in the case namely one particular nasty loudmouth .

Derrin Geddes has stated he was familiar with both sides of the family and we kind of get an inkling of that from his presence during Janie's interview . He is mbms relative but a friend of the martell/ mckenzie family as well . This is all said in the cbs video when introducing who he is .

The kids were seen in new Glasgow on the 1st of May and Daniel stated he was speaking to a fellow employee that worked with him at the saw mill .

Now this is where it gets murky and I sincerely don't know if there is truth in it but apparently that employee was Derrin geddes son .

That's all I will say but I am adding 1+1 and getting 7 🤔

Speculation, rumour , tripe idk but a certain someone is inserting himself right into the middle of the investigation and not content on being a back ground character. NPC is not good enough he has to have the starring role . So imo if anyone knows what has gone on ,it's him and not in a solving the case way

If it’s going to take several months to review the video footage, thank goodness the residence wasn’t located near a bustling urban centre.

Are you thinking #2 homocide? If so, what brought you to this?

Adding his words into the fray are confusing, I know it’s a small community and lots of relations, but I can’t figure out which way he throws the cat… MBM, DM or both, and is he for or against.
Do you think it as an arranged meeting to setup an alibis???

No given the brief CBC comments I think he expected a broadcast interview with him being the centre of attention. Meanwhile the article hardly went beyond mentioning his name. Isn’t that how it usually goes with peripheral players, the RCMP won’t give them the time of day so they run to the media.

LOL, from the stuff on sms involving him, he likes to “talk” or be talked about, it’s not all positive. He believes in the handoff choice.
In DM interview he alluded to MBM/kids coming from an abusive environment before him. Does anyone remember this? I wonder if he meant from her parents or with CS? Surely Belynda would know, but might not want to implicate her son negatively or speak poorly of MBM parents. Could MBM be suffering from PTS? Or just another of DM’s hints MBM isn’t what she appears to be?
MBM ‘s silence is either well controlled or she is incapacitated. After what he has hinted about, the chatter online, and the loss of her kids would make a person blow, but yet she’s still silent.

No I don't think to set up alibis . I just think his behaviour is very strange and it's possible he has inserted himself to add confusion. Now whether he does to feel important or for kicks or some other reason . I will leave that up to the behavioural analysts. But he is certainly not helping curb the rumours and in actual fact he is heightening them .

I had a theory that prehaps DM and MBM separated so the focus would be on that rather then the missing kids but I don't know what to think anymore .

I was reading this about the Dylan Ehler case and it has made me rethink about my input into this thread .

The only facts I know for certain is the kids are missing. Yes the behaviour of the people who are supposed to care the most is strange and alien to me .

I know how I would like to behave if this were my kids but maybe these people are just not like me . I still feel it is a homicide or has something to do with cps involvement. I just can't fathom how the search and rescue didn't find one clue but SARs have missed clues and bodies in more open areas .

I do know cps didn't make a visit just for behavioural issues related to possible ASD and i know cps dont arrange supervised visits for a child ( meadow ) without reason and I find it impossible to understand as a mom how Malehya is not working more closely with LE . If as we have speculated she had some mental break . I don't know if she would be recovering holistically or with medication but I do know medication takes between 6 to 8 weeks to have an effect on most major depressive episodes .

I think the media and law enforcement can be either end of a spectrum of information too little or too much but I really feel that with the amount of speculation in this case someone needs to step up to the Mic and quell the rising tides because its just leaving Pandora's box wide open and all sorts of demons are flying out

Interesting, the things he’s saying and the way he’s saying it sounds similar to MBM.
