NY - UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson fatally shot in Midtown. #12 *Arrest*

they said the police were called to mcdonalds because he had overstayed his welcome which is rather strange because he had only been there 30 minutes and was still eating
The police were called to Mickey D's because a customer recognized him and told an employee who then called LE. There was a huge BOLO out for LM everywhere at that time.

with so many prosecutors , someone has to defend
Not when the evidence clearly shows it was LM who committed the crime. Logical thinking and the massive amount of evidence against him so far points to LM as being guilty with huge flashing red arrows. IMO

I'm upset because he did this, Martyring himself, and then pleaded Not Guilty once he was arrested. I guess LM misses his posh lifestyle more than standing up for what he wrote in his mini manifestos now that his reality is confinement in an 10x12 cell without access to the finest things he had on the outside.

Time to face the consequences of your actions LM. You murdered an innocent man for your screwed up ideology.

McDonald's doesn't have a problem with people sitting there for a few hours. Plus he was still eating.

but he was also accused of lottering which he clearly wasnt doing

Also how would that affect the case?
ETA: I think I see what you are trying to say. That his rights were violated in the McDonald's and so the evidence collected there may not be usable.

But IMO it's not because the police gave him a false reason why they were talking to him.
Maybe there will be a problem because they didn't read him his rights immediately, if they didn't. JMO.

well why did they say it clearly it wasnt true for what reason would they say it they did say it and it wasnt true.

it has a lot of implications on what is and isnt admissible evidence

LM at McD's. Loitering? Overstaying his Welcome?

@mrC

From linked article:*
"The officers entered and blocked Mangione from leaving as he sat at a corner table by “forming a human law enforcement wall” around him, Dickey writes. The aggressive posture of the officers effectively detained Mangione..."
Sooo, two officers ="human law enforcement wall” = detention? Maybe, IDK.

Did the two officers explicitly tell LM, he
"... looked suspicious and/or overstayed his welcome...”?
Is this claim unequivocally true? Possibly, IDK.
Or did atty's motion claim LM thought LE thought that
LM "... looked suspicious and/or overstayed ...”?

I hope video & audio of the arrest related acions will emerge.
Likely imo, but not until trial.

This, from Thomas M. Dickey's ct-filed motion:
“At no time did the two (2) officers indicate that [Mangione] was free to go...” “Nor did they explain the reasons as to why Defendant was being detained; other than that, he looked suspicious and/or overstayed his welcome as a customer at McDonald’s.”

Sounds like they were giving him courtesy notice not to create a scene, that he could go quickly and quietly with them.

Plus an opportunity to identify himself.

They didn't lead with a battering ram and raw force.

Cool, calm, and collected.

Right.

Luigi was brought down by a hash brown.

He was a paying customer, still eating, not loitering.

He was recognized due to the proliferating amount of pictures of him once he revealed his face at the hostel.

He was not arrested due to eating at a McDonald’s. Please.

He was arrested because he had to remove his mask to eat and he was identified.

He’s not even pretending he didn’t kill the CEO. When he was arrested he had his backpack with his multi-page manifesto, statement of purpose, and self-justification, which all amounted to a confession. Plus the evidence with the ghost gun.

This is the evidence that has been revealed. Not just theoretical.

IMO plus facts as released by LE.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA - Just great @Arkay. Maybe the Prosecution could see fit to work that little diddy into their opening statement. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAH

Thanks for that link.

This is Luigi's Defense Lawyer speaking dramatically. Of course she will present the most egregious accusations against LE and how his arrest was handled.

It will up to the Judge to decide if LM's rights (ha - what about Brian Thompson's rights?) were violated and what is or isn't allowed in at trial.

now they found a ghost gun in the park, they also cliam to have found one in lugi now wich one is suposed to be the murder weapon they cant both be

Yes, loitering wouldn't result in an innocent person being arrested for murder. Besides, wasn't he eating his hashbrown? ergo, he wasn't loitering.

why would he dump one gun but keep another one i would asume he would dump one because he dident want it being found on his person, but if so why would he keep another gun on his person that doesnt really make sense

MANHATTAN (CN) — New York City prosecutors in Luigi Mangione’s state murder case are defending their “open and shut” charges against the 27-year-old Ivy League graduate, who is accused of gunning down UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson in December.

“If ever there were an open and shut case pointing to defendant's guilt, this case is that case,” prosecutors in the Manhattan District Attorney’s office say in a 58-page document, filed Wednesday in New York County Supreme Court.

He is due back in Manhattan’s criminal court on June 26.
