the writings are in abslutly no way incrimating hes epressing veiws that half the population hold if a republican was shot and the only edence you had agianst the suspect was they were a democrat that wouldent be considred evedence its the same here he doesnt like the health care industry thats not evedence i mean who the hell does like them
Well, if a jury hears about his writings (I'm not gonna call it his"manifesto"), along with whatever other evidence is shown to them, and I believe there will be a lot, they're supposed to consider it all in total, and everything presented to them as a whole, if the prosecution does its job well, could make a jury see it all as incriminating, and you know that it's the jury's decision that matters, not mine or yours or anyone else's.

It might be easy enough for a jury to dismiss one thing or another by itself, but as a whole, I expect it all to make him look guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in the eyes and minds of a jury, once it's all said and done.

But that's just what I expect to happen in this case, so it might turn out I'm wrong, cuz what do I know, of course. But that's what I expect will happen, after what I've seen and heard so far. We'll just have to wait and see.

If it is proven that he did it, do you think he shouldn't be convicted of murder, because the victim was the head of a company that you and many other people say is responsible for the deaths of many innocent people?

Regardless of who killed him, would you say it was a justified killing?

From CBS News:
"The Manhattan district attorney's office signaled Tuesday it would exclude certain statements that accused CEO killer Luigi Mangione made while in custody at the Altoona, Pennsylvania, Police Department following his following his arrest on Dec. 9, 2024."

Has it ever been reported where the heck he got all that cash?
Iirc correctly it was 7000 dollars some in foreign currency.
He comes from a wealthy family and did work for a while. He traveled extensively but stayed in hostels and the like iirc.
I don’t think there is any nefarious explanation for the money. He seemed to live frugally. There also could be trust fund.

There was a photo posted upthread; I'll try to find it. Definitely $7000 in US currency, plus a small number of foreign bills I'm not familiar with to know denominations.

Luigi Mangione walked out in his now signature navy blue suit, appearing to be in deep conversation with Jacob Kaplan and reviewing his notes while the pool photographers snap his photo.

The state announced that they did not have any additional witnesses, and the defense stood and said "they rest."

Judge Carro said that May 18th is decision day.

Seidemann just mentioned something about the victim's mother that I didn't quite catch- the lawyers approached the bench.

Lawyers are still talking to judge at the bench- I can't hear much. Something about the federal case, something about "wasting time.." something about January...

State is asking for some reciprocal discovery by Dec 24th

Defense said they will be challenging their certificate of compliance..

Karen Agnifilo raised an alleged statement attributed to Mangione’s mother-specifically, a claim that she had said “that is something she could see him doing,” referring to the murder. Agnifilo argued that this statement has never been corrected on the record and should be removed because it is highly prejudicial and, she said, was never made by the mother.

Agnifilo added that Kathleen Mangione actually stated, “Luigi has not made any suicidal statements and has not been a risk to himself or others,” making it clear that the earlier characterization was the opposite of what she had said.

Detailed account of another reporter's perspective of today's suppression hearing.

Day 9 of Luigi Mangione's suppression hearing. Scheduled to begin at 10AM, today is expected to be the last day.

About 17 members of the public, but some people may be out in the hallway. Still see some green (in nod to Nintendo Luigi) and some printed shirts about missing bodycam footage

I've been getting some questions about some things that have popped up throughout the suppression hearing ... I am doing more reporting behind the scenes so stay tuned

Defense walked in, Marc said "at least it's not cold"
