I agree. I just wish the images were better, as that would make it super easy.

These agencies have incredible software that we don’t have access to, but with a good enough image any member of the public can do that same.

I’ve done that myself when I’ve seen someone who appears familiar to me but who I can’t place. Take a picture and upload it to a AI facial recognition site, and you can have a name in seconds.

I’ve also done this with random people at the airport. “This person looks very professional or wealthy, I wonder what they do?”

Within a minute or two, I know their name, their job, and if I want to go further, their address.

Provided they have a photo stored somewhere online.

There is just enough there that if this was my brother, cousin, nephew......I would know immediately!

And you can rent them in one place and drop them off at another rack anywhere in nyc.
it's been confirmed that he used a regular ebike, which makes sense, as I'm pretty sure you need a credit card to use citibikes.

The odds are far more likely that he is not in any database (DNA or prints), than he is in one. An immediate break coming from either of those things not only isn't surprising, it's completely expected.

Every single thing here points to a lone wolf assassin with some sort of a grievance. Hired hitmen don't send messages, and they certainly don't commit crimes in this way.

Any international connection is even more out there, as I see it.

I've followed countless cases on here over there years, and the simplest explanation has been the reality in just about every single one. What does the evidence say? What does history say? There's just no reason to complicate things to the extent that we're talking about something that not only doesn't happen with regularity, but hasn't happened ever.

Not like this.

True. Occam's Razor pretty much always rules the day and the probability of the same result here is quite high until it isn't. I suppose the perp's brazenness coupled with all the meticulous, almost spy-like planning, patience, and execution, as well as the city he selected, has me considering an outlier scenario, even a rather grandiose one, more than I usually would.

I can buy an obsessive ideological grievance as a motive (i.e. Eric Rudolph/Ted Kacynski)- I think that's even likely at this point - but personally (or immediately adjacently) wronged by insurance denials? I'm not as confident about that. Those kinds of aggrieved folks don't typically take the time for all the primping we see here, let alone the planning.

JMO.

Where does a person get a large lot of Monopoly money? E Bay? We don’t know how much was in the backpack…maybe it was just one game’s worth, but if was a lot more than that, he had to have gotten it from somewhere.
Walmart???

ETA: There also was a jacket stuffed in the backpack. Keep in mind PR coming from LE may have expressed their "disdain"...(It's "full" of monopoly money, when the jacket was actually the "full" part) Just MOO

Not completely caught up with today's posts but just wanted to say, IMO if you were a person in which THOUSANDS of people know you, report to you, respect you, interact with you, etc... I think it would become "high profile" that you were killed in a pretty much "televised assassination". As much as any of us are scouring the net for clues and information and posting faster than anyone can keep up = Can you for one moment, imagine if you were the leader of an organization where the VAST majority of your employees adore and admire you!? Can you imagine THOSE PEOPLE (which are thousands) are also desperate for answers, questioning the safety of other leaders they work with/for, afraid of their own safety JUST because of the job they hold!? I think this case has brought up so many questions and has essentially changed the way that people in these Executive positions will be able to conduct their business moving forward. Even the employees at the bottom of the ladder are afraid to let anyone else know who they work for, have removed their employer/occupation information from their social media profiles, etc. I wouldn't even have a LinkedIn at this point!

If anyone has a link to whatever article is being mentioned regarding this "AI Program" to deny claims I would be very interested in seeing that b/c I continue to see it referred to in online commentary but I have yet to read about it. I want to see where it specifically states that BT was the brains behind that b/c from everything I know personally, I have never heard such a thing and I fear it's some kind of misinformation but want to read it for myself to see how exactly it was written or what sources it names. TIA

They were able to locate a general area in which he could have dumped items, just based on his entry and exit points and the brief amount of time he spent there.

So I think it’s probably them just doing their due diligence. Unless they think for some reason he couldn’t have had that gun on him when he fled.
I did not think he would throw the gun in the lake because the splash would cause attention and people would remember that, but now I hope he did. I've been worried some kid will find it tossed somewhere, though I suppose it's possible there is no ammo with it? IDK - I just hate thinking there is a gun somewhere. If it's in the lake, that's the best spot for it.

i highly doubt he threw the gun in the waters of Central Park. seems dumb when he could easily just hide it on his person as he boards a bus.
Doesn’t NYC Transit state ‘We ban guns on these premises?’LOL

Walmart???

Target, any store that carries games, it would be a lot cheaper to buy a bunch from a thrift store though, but if he could afford a $300 backpack, probably not an issue.

Why not both? Someone who holds the ideological motive and could have been wronged. It isn't hard to find people either wronged or experienced family members wronged by health care or insurance.

It was reported that the image was taken as he was heading to the bus station after the murder. I had been wondering the same until I saw that report.
Oh okay thanks… must’ve missed that.

As the search for the suspect enters its fifth day, NYPD diving crews are back in Central Park on Sunday looking for any shred of evidence in the shooting death of UnitedHealthcare chief Brian Thompson.

after this, we might start seeing TSA-style security at major bus terminals lol

The Monopoly money and the wordings on the bullet cases could well be a diversion tactic to throw police off the scent and buy the killer more time, he is a smart guy, wouldn’t rule it out

You can purchase 5,000 bills on Amazon for ~ $100.

Agreed on CP, but some train stations and bus terminals have metal detectors now. I wonder if that gun was able to be easily disassembled and thrown away piece meal along the shooters route?

Just thinking, I usually have an idea about what I think happened on a thread, but I must admit I am totally in the dark here. It seems staged, almost theatrical IMO.

we have no reason to suspect that this crime is anything other than what it presents itself as: an assassination with an ideological motive

Yes that’s the Occams Razor explaination

You can find these items at outlet malls and thrift stores. Just because it’s initially expensive doesn’t mean that is what the killer paid - actually based on the hostel stay and being seen at McDonalds there is a good chance he got these “expensive” items thrifting. It would also make those items harder to trace.
M00 is...he doesn't seem like the thrifting type. But only moo
